Healthcare professionals from across the country will meet in Park City, Utah this week, for the 3M Health Information Systems National Users Group Meeting, Aug. 24-27 at the Marriott Park City hotel. The 2010 meeting will highlight industry best practices, showcase the latest 3M technologies, and offer a rich agenda of seminars and workshops focused on clinical documentation improvement, quality reporting and coding, RAC audits, data standardization, and ICD-10 transition planning.

“This is a dynamic time for health care, with new challenges and opportunities at every turn,” said Jon Lindekugel, President of 3M Health Information Systems. “The National Users Group meeting allows us to have an open dialogue with our clients about how we're doing and how we can collaborate on innovative solutions to their most pressing needs.”

Over the course of four days, meeting attendees will participate in more than 40 education sessions presented by their colleagues and 3M industry experts, with ICD-10 a special focus of this year’s meeting. “Our clients have asked for in-depth education on transition planning to help them take advantage of ICD-10’s potential for clinical and financial improvement,” said JaeLynn Williams, Vice President, Marketing and Client Operations. “We’ll also be presenting integrated solutions to help clients translate and convert ICD-9 based applications to ICD-10.” ICD-10 education materials available for attendees will include 3M’s complimentary ICD-10 planner.

During the conference, 3M will announce the “Innovator of the Year” Awards, recognizing three client organizations for exceptional efforts to accelerate adoption of the EHR, revolutionize the value of coding, and make data actionable for their facilities.
