Portland’s Mt. Tabor Dental to Trick or Treat for America’s Toothfairy Campaign This Halloween

Dr. Todd L. Beck, DMD, of Portland, Oregon will raise money for children in need of oral health care during the first annual Trick or Treat for America’s Toothfairy campaign

Portland, OR (PRWEB) September 23, 2010

This Halloween, Mt. Tabor Dental is partnering with National Children’s Oral Health Foundation: America’s Toothfairy® (NCOHF) to raise money for children in need of oral health care during the first annual Trick or Treat for America’s Toothfairy campaign.

“We are excited to be involved with this cause and to help raise money to treat and prevent pediatric dental disease,” said Dr. Todd L. Beck, DMD of Mt. Tabor Dental. “Halloween is the perfect time to remind children and adults of the importance of oral health care.”

Portland residents are invited to visit Mt. Tabor Dental at 728 SE 60th Avenue, Portland, OR 97215 to donate loose change or pick up a Trick or Treat for America’s Toothfairy fundraising kit to help raise money for nonprofit pediatric oral health programs serving at-risk children. One hundred percent of the money raised will provide dental care and education to children in underserved populations.

Research shows that more than 40 percent of American children will suffer from pediatric dental disease before they reach kindergarten. It is the most common chronic childhood illness and can cause pain that disrupts a child’s ability to eat, sleep and learn. According to the CDC, oral disease is five times more common among children than asthma and seven times more common than hay fever.

NCOHF is an independent national nonprofit organization solely focused on eliminating pediatric dental disease. Since it was founded in 2006, the NCOHF Affiliate network of nonprofit pediatric oral health programs has provided comprehensive care to more than one million at-risk children. Thanks to generous corporate underwriters, 100 percent of donations go directly to this Affiliate network and the children it serves.

To learn more about NCOHF or to make a donation, contact NCOHF at 1.800.559.9838 or visit www. AmericasToothfairy. org.

Dr. Todd L. Beck, DMD, is a dentist serving the greater Portland, Oregon area for over 10 years through his successful practice, Mt. Med Cards Provides Free Safety Seminars to Senior Citizens

Med Cards Provides Free Safety Seminars to Senior Citizens

Med Cards, Inc. announced today that the company is providing free safety seminars to seniors. The presentations will be aimed at showing seniors how to identify hazards lurking in their home that may cause falls or fires. The seminars will be offered throughout the summer at Long Island senior centers.

East Meadow, NY (PRWEB) June 15, 2003

Med Cards, Inc. announced today that the company is providing free safety seminars to seniors. The presentations will be aimed at showing seniors how to identify hazards lurking in their home that may cause falls or fires. The seminars will be offered throughout the summer at Long Island senior centers.

Med Cards president and founder, Vivian Agrusa, says the program was developed because of her years of experience as an emergency room nurse. “The majority of elderly patients we see in the emergency room are there because of a fall in the home. Many of these accidents can be prevented by keeping the home safe.” She added that hip fractures, the most common injury, can be severely debilitating and life altering.

The seminars are taught by Med Cards’ healthcare professionals, which include both registered nurses and certified emergency medical technicians. “As emergency medical providers, we’ve been seeing the causes and results of accidents in the home for years. We consider ourselves experts in the field,” explains Agrusa.

After the presentation, Med Cards gives attendees the opportunity to purchase their product. Agrusa describes Med Cards as “Plastic, durable, computer printed cards that provide all a patient’s vital medical information.” A problem the company has faced is that many elderly customers are not sure how to fill out the application properly. At the seminars, representatives are on hand to personally assist seniors. Med Cards that are incomplete may not provide healthcare workers all the information necessary to treat a patient as effectively.

To schedule a Safety Seminar, or to find out more about Med Cards, contact Vivian Agrusa at 516-539-1218 or visit their website at http://www. medcardsinc. com (http://www. medcardsinc. com).

About Med Cards, Inc:

Long Island based Med Cards, Inc. was created by healthcare professionals. Med Cards are wallet-sized, plastic, computer printed medical information cards. Med Cards meet the need of medical providers to quickly obtain a patientÂ’s vital information and provide piece of mind to the card carrier.

HOW ONE MAN MADE MORE THAN FIVE MILLION DOLLARS GROWING EARTHWORMS IN HIS BACKYARD

HOW ONE MAN MADE MORE THAN FIVE MILLION DOLLARS GROWING EARTHWORMS IN HIS BACKYARD.

A new website was launched today. After 11 years of commercial vermiculture a pioneer of commercial wormgrowing in Australia finally put all his hard won secrets into a major information package on CD ROM

(PRWEB) November 18, 2002

"How to make a small fortune from your own backyard, or small acreage whether you own it or rent it."

By Darryl J Jones.

Managing Director of Vital Earth International

"How can I make a statement like the above with no exaggeration? Easily! I have done it myself, AND, trained many hundreds of others to do the same."

If you are like most people you are probably always looking for ways to make ends meet. Maybe you're looking for something that will be your own and no longer be an employee in a place where you are taken for granted and discarded for those who are younger. Many people find this out to their horror everyday. No longer are jobs and skills for life. This modern world is a place where jobs become obsolete instantly.

But did you ever consider that your own backyard, or small acreage can provide you a real income for minimal outlay and in a rapidly increasing industry? Do I now have your attention?

I have achieved this and can show you how you too can duplicate exactly the same thing. In YOUR backyard. Even if you only rent it.

Why am I qualified to write the above?

In 1990 I had a ten year old manufacturing business based in Australia. We were making high quality water purifiers for the world....shipped a lot of our product to the Middle East - Kuwait was our distribution point into Saudi Arabia, U. A.E. Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. We even sold into Iraq.  Unfortunately, the day Saddam Hussein's forces entered Kuwait was the starting day of the end of my very profitable, water purifier business.

Sometimes life has very strange new turns

When the Gulf war broke out we struggled on under fairly desperate conditions. Somehow, we even got new countries started in Asia. But the big volume was lost to the principal Middle East markets, permanently.

My company was in tatters.

Up until that fateful invasion, things could not have been better. We had won several small business awards, an exporter of the year award and an Australian design council award, in fact it was a very healthy and vibrant company. But Saddam's brutal assault on Kuwait half way around the world from Australia was the beginning of the end.

What to do next?

From king rooster to feather duster in just six months. If you think you have ever been desperate, try matching this......no money for food....no money for fuel......debt collectors arriving hourly......the phone rang constantly. No, not with orders, just more demands. And more demands. And more. But I did have one asset left

.........my backyard on the property where I lived

Yet the bank was even trying take that off me. Plus,.....there was more than, ......$250,000 in debts still to pay! (though all paid back in only 18 months from the new business endeavour I am about to describe here.)

But I fought on long enough to keep my home and property when I made the following important decision........

I fell back on something that had worked well for me once before.

I had grown compost worms some 30 years earlier from my parents home in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. They were a handy source of income to support my night school studies for five years. So I knew at least that I could get enough cash from worm growing to put food on the table until I could figure out my next move.

You can easily do it from your own home!

I put in some very simple backyard systems comprising of tank rings just like I had used years before. The cash started coming in. We had food. And electricity. Took the car out on the road. Fuel. The photo to the right here shows the original eight tanks rings, Tank rings cost less than $100.00 each and these are still producing worms and constant income today - nearly 12 years later!

We show you a proven early system you can have operating in just days for only a few hundred dollars.

I had to make another decision. Do I get a job? or was there a chance to make more money than a job could offer if I developed the worm business into something serious? I took a job for six weeks. I was thoroughly and totally depressed everyday for six weeks. Hey! the pay was great and the prospects brilliant. But,......because I had spent the previous 25 years as a self employed person I did not enjoy the new disciplines of filling out the daily wishes of my employer. I resigned.

I resolved to give the worm business my best shot. I had to try.

It turned out to be one of the better decisions I'd made in the whole of my life.

You can duplicate what I have done NOW.

But how do you make a simple small worm farm in a small backyard into a serious business? Fortunately it was one of those rare moments of timing. Consumers were starting to switch their buying priorities to organically grown produce. A faint glimmer, true. But, I could see the glimmering light. THIS was a wave of opportunity. If only I could figure out how. One peculiar culture in worm growing at that time was that worm growers were offering nothing more than a bunch of worms in broken foam boxes held together with packaging or electricians tape. No information was offered to help the buyer and no applications to utilise compost worms were offered.

It was time to introduce real know how.

I knew the power of the compost worm was there, but knew equally well that without applications, first class support, knowledge and training, very few people would be prepared to invest more than a few dollars to experiment. What was needed was a system to grow worms, to transport worms so that the end user had a real system to help him grow them. En masse. To make "the worm-grower" money. Earn a good living. Plus use compost worms commercially in an environment that was safe for them and able to maximise their incredible abilities.

The glimmering light goes ON!

Brilliant ideas often comes to those at sleep, who let their sub-conscious mind work in the background much like a computer tasked to defrag at midnight. At 3am one morning, in my backyard, the Vital Earth modular pit was created. Take a look at it on our web site www. vitalearth. com. au....yes, it looks like a long box, but it's really a money-tree! I knew that the industry had to graduate from foam boxes to something BIG. The Vital Earth worm pit is 3 metres long [over 7 feet] or 50 foam boxes worth of worms. A chance to make REAL money, deliver worms anywhere and get them to work the very next day reducing organic waste to value added product.

Is this all about worms to go fishing?

I can almost hear you saying, "Are you trying to tell me there is a serious business selling bait worms to fishermen?" I still have people to this day who know me well and assume that is what I do because we grow and sell worms. But nothing could be further from the truth. Why sell a $10.00 bucket of worms to go fishing when you can sell a ton of worms for $30,000.00 to eliminate organic waste? Or sell the value-added by-products at $6,00 a litre for liquid cast and $500.00 a ton for solid cast?

Getting the real message out to make serious dollars

I followed up fast with the training seminars that brought vital know-how to those who also could see a future emerging for the compost worm. Darwin, a remarkable scientist at times ahead of all others had identified the compost worm many years before as a most unlikely, but equally, the most important creature on earth for the continuation of food from a living soil. In our FREE REPORT we show you what Darwin discovered 150 years ago. Amazingly, his theory is impacting in reality today, in ways no one could have imagined way back then. Compost worms can eliminate all organic waste thus bypassing landfill options and at the same time create valuable by-products such as solid and liquid fertilizers. Today.....there are many of the Vital Earth modular pit systems Australia wide,....AND some overseas on properties and backyards already.

There is now a huge government supported groundswell that you can be part of worldwide.

Now, even governments worldwide are turning to the humble worm to solve the huge waste mess that man has created world wide. Governments are also providing substantial grants to participants in the Vermiculture industry. Go to our company website at www. vitalearth. com. au for links to some of these government programs and see for yourself.

Now just for a moment, think about this.

As governments world wide turn to the expertise of Vermiculturist's to solve organic waste elimination and conversion. Some governments are even driving sales for products like our Vermi-Converter and vermiculture consultation. YOU can be part of that opportunity, and take a ride with YOUR government man as YOUR assistant and promoter. We'll show you how.

Who can benefit most with this information?

Just about anyone with a backyard and the determination to make substantially extra money, plus the desire to develop a long term highly profitable business.

Certainly farmers looking to make their own organic fertilizers on site and save major dollars on chemical fertilizer, plus get a premium on the organically grown produce will gain enormously.

Our information can be used by schools and even municipal governments looking for alternatives to land fill, or factories that need to dispose of organic waste.

It might be a holiday resort or even an island resort that could benefit greatly from converting organic waste to a value added organic fertilizer suitable for a beautification program at the resort gardens.

Where ever there is a need for organic waste elimination, plus organic fertilizers then our hard won information is a must.

It could be a factory owner or a restaurateur with a waste problem.

There is no need to buy the $7,000.00 worth of mostly useless books like I did to re-learn the hard way what I already know and offer for such a low price.

There is no need to spend eleven years learning what I had to learn to be able to get it all down onto a low cost CD ROM. I have already done it for you.

There is no need to make the costly mistakes I made early in the learning curve because you will have a proven system from the beginning.

There is also no need to come to one of our "one on one" seminars as we have put this information down in an easily learnable and understandable form and we support you with six months free email support for as many questions as you need to ask. Even dumb ones!

There is no need to spend huge dollars like we did with a business plan developer as we offer you a fully customised business pan and spreadsheets just for Vermiculture.

There is no need to hire an accountant to develop an Excel spreadsheet to study cost benefits and business performance as we include that as well.

Our commercial worm growing manual includes formulas and marketing methods for all your products.

Finally our comprehensive PowerPoint slide show has slides you in turn not only learn from, but can use to close your own deals and do your own sparkling presentations like the professional you will be when you employ our methods of growing worms. And our methods for making quality highly saleable by-products and marketing all these products with proven methods fully explained.

Law of Attraction Author to Speak on Radio and TV Shows Starting in November

Law of Attraction Author to Speak on Radio and TV Shows Starting in November

Bruce Goldwell will be in the Radio TV Interview Report (RTIR) starting in November and will begin appearing on TV shows as well as interviewing on Radio shows via Telephone.

Sandy, UT (PRWEB) October 12, 2007

If you want to achieve success, start or expand a business, have a particular dream or goal in mind, improve your health and wealth or have stronger relationships, you need to release fear, focus your thoughts and be open to receiving, says Bruce Goldwell.

In November 2007, Goldwell will appear in the Radio TV Interview Report (RTIR) for the purpose of being a guest on radio and TV talk shows. Goldwell's story of having gone from homeless to a successful author and brokering a movie deal based on another series of books he is writing called Dragon Keepers is inspiring others to have an awakening in the belief they can accomplish their dreams.

Goldwell just released the first of a series of books called Mastery of Abundant Living based on the Law of Attraction in April this year and a second was released in June. His goal is to help over 1,000,000 people to fulfill their dreams.

About to be released is New Life Resolutions which allows readers to start a New Years resolution any time of the year. Goldwell's goal is to increase the number of people still working on their resolutions six months after they begin. Currently over half the people who start resolutions quit before the sixth month. With just a 10% increase in the number of people working on their resolution after the sixth month period means over 100,000 people for every million who begin a New Years resolution will still be engaged in their resolution beyond the six month mark.

Bruce Goldwell's accomplishments over the last few months alone are evidence of his understanding of the Law of Attraction and how to apply it. In July, Goldwell met Jeff Bova at a business networking forum at the Westin LAX called CEOSpace. Jeff is Platinum winning composer for Celine Dion and he agreed to work on Goldwell's upcoming movie productions. During the first week of October, Goldwell attended CEOSpace again and this time met Steven Sekane who has also agreed to work on Goldwell's movies. Steven is the designer and owner of The Batmobile 2000 and has worked on other major motion pictures as well including Lost In Space.

The list of accomplishments by Goldwell is growing exponentially. Kenny Star who is an award winning songwriter has joined the production team and just last month Goldwell received a letter of intent from a production company in Santa Monica, California for $13.5 million for the production of his first Dragon Keepers movie.

Radio and TV host are invited to contact Mr. Goldwell to schedule appearance on shows or telephone interviews. For more information about Bruce Goldwell, his books and other projects he has completed or is working on visit: www. Our distinguished panel of speakers provide the clinical tools needed to develop the key elements of healthy living—from diet and nutrition, understanding biomarkers of aging, sexual dysfunction, chemical sensitivities and toxins, hormonal balancing, basic age management interventions and best practices.”

In addition to releasing findings from the IRB-approved study, other conference highlights include Dr. Jennifer Berman, recognized authority in female urology and female sexual medicine, lecturing on emerging treatment strategies for female sexual function; Dr. Joseph McWherter examining the controversial findings and reversal on the WomenÂ’s Health Initiative study; Dr. Israel Yoles addressing the unsolved debate on treating osteopenic women; and CenegenicsÂ’ Dr. Jeffry Life presenting a series of problematic cases, allowing attendees to engage in a frank discussion.

High Five for Five Dollar Felines Adoptions Supported by Best Friends

High Five for Five Dollar Felines Adoptions Supported by Best Friends

Local animal rescue groups and shelters across the country showcase adopting rescued cats and older kittens as the best five dollars you have ever spent on preventative heart health care during events supported by national animal welfare organization, Best Friends Animal Society. All events are between Friday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, Nov. 28.

Kanab, UT (Vocus/PRWEB) November 19, 2010

One of the most heart-smart moves a person can make is to invite a cat into his/her life. And this Thanksgiving weekend, local animal rescue groups, with support from the national Best Friends Animal Society®, will make it very easy to bring home a new feline family member.

Rescue groups participating in High Five for $5 Felines are members of Best Friends Network Charities, a program that supports local animal rescue groups with the tools they need to save more lives. Using the general theme of “Open your home to a rescued cat for your heart’s sake,” rescue groups will showcase cats and kittens (age five months and older) in adoption events sometime between Friday, Nov. 26, and Sunday, Nov. 28. Each feline will be spayed or neutered and vaccinated prior to the event, and the fee to adopt is only $5 per kitty.

“Best Friends Network Charities program is proud to support these groups (see list below of groups and locations) participating in this national multi-city adoption event. Best Friends’ goal is to help the groups increase the number of cats adopted,” said Lavanya Raju, coordinator for Best Friends Network Charities.

Raju explained that the idea of emphasizing that cats can improve people’s health was inspired by a University of Minnesota study that showed the relative risk of death from heart attack was 40 percent lower for those who own a cat. The most logical explanation for this, the study revealed, is that having a cat may relieve stress and anxiety, and subsequently reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

“Five dollars for a spayed/neutered best friend is an unbelievable deal for anyone looking to add a cat to their family and it may be the best $5 you have ever spent on preventive heart health care,” Raju said.

“Local rescue groups and shelters provide a valuable public service to both the animals and the communities they serve,” Raju said. “Too many cats are dying in shelters across the country; only 10 to 20 percent of pet cats are adopted from shelters and local rescue groups. These groups are going out of their way to get these cats into loving homes where the kitties can not only give your heart a ‘warm fuzzy’ but actually help you and your family stay healthier.

“Every cat who gets adopted actually means that two cats are saved because the first cat is adopted and opens up space at the shelter or rescue for another homeless cat in need. We hope the public will come out and support their efforts. And bringing a rescued cat into your home not only saves that cat’s life, it may save yours as well,” Raju said.

“Even if you can’t adopt, please volunteer, donate or just send a note thanking rescue groups for what they are doing. You can make a difference for homeless cats and for these rescuers who are working so hard to save them,” Raju said.

The “High 5 for $5 Felines” adoption events are part of Best Friends Animal Society’s goal of No More Homeless Pets, which aims to end the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters.

CVS Caremark Chief's '08 Pay Dwarfs Compensation for CEOs of Rival PBMs, Drug Benefit News Reports

CVS Caremark Chief's '08 Pay Dwarfs Compensation for CEOs of Rival PBMs, Drug Benefit News Reports

AIS's Drug Benefit News analyzes PBM compensation data from company proxy statements

Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 7, 2009

Atlantic Information Services, Inc. (AIS) --Thomas Ryan, chairman, president and CEO of CVS Caremark Corp., last year earned about double the pay of the leaders of CVS's two closest pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) competitors, according to an analysis of company proxy statements conducted by AIS's Drug Benefit News (DBN).

Ryan received $24.1 million in 2008 total annual compensation, DBN reported. In comparison, Medco Health Solutions, Inc. Chairman and CEO David Snow took home $13.1 million in total annual compensation, while Express Scripts, Inc. Chairman, President and CEO George Paz came away with $12.8 million. Details on both the cash and non-cash compensation appear in the July 3 issue of DBN. To access this story and more detailed data, go to http://www. aishealth. com/DrugCosts/DBN_Exec-Comp-08.html (http://www. aishealth. com/DrugCosts/DBN_Exec-Comp-08.html).

Ryan's compensation actually fell 7.6% from the 2007 level of $26.1 million, the publication noted. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), CVS Caremark said one factor was the company's failure to meet its operating profit goal -- the primary measure used to set executives' annual incentive payments. As a result, Ryan's non-equity incentive plan compensation fell from $7.8 million in 2007 to $4.6 million in 2008, according to DBN.

Medco allotted Snow a 24% increase in 2008 compensation over the prior year, driven primarily by hikes in stock-option awards and non-equity incentive plan compensation, DBN reported.

And Express Scripts almost tripled Paz's stock award in dollar terms, helping to drive total 2008 pay up 60% to $12.8 million compared with the level in the previous year, the DBN article noted. The PBM estimated that Paz's 2008 stock award was worth $6.7 million, compared with $2.6 million in 2007.

All compensation figures are based on data reported in the company proxy statements and 10-K forms filed with the SEC.

Go to http://www. aishealth. com/DrugCosts/DBN_Exec-Comp-08.html (http://www. aishealth. com/DrugCosts/DBN_Exec-Comp-08.html) to access detailed compensation data for top PBM executives.

Reverse Mortgage Lead Network, Inc. Announces Launch of Website to Connect Lenders to Internet Leads

Reverse Mortgage Lead Network, Inc. Announces Launch of Website to Connect Lenders to Internet Leads

Reverse Mortgage Lead Network, Inc., of Las Vegas, NV, has launched a new website that delivers real-time Internet leads to lenders throughout the country.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) February 13, 2007

Reverse Mortgage Lead Network, Inc. (RMLN, Inc.), announces the launch of ReverseMortgageAdviser. com, an information portal that will connect lenders to real-time Internet leads.

The website, ReverseMortgageAdviser. com, is a free online service that assists seniors and their families in gathering objective reverse mortgage information, including information on local lenders so that they can research all of their options. As more seniors are recognizing that traditional retirement tools are not providing sufficient income to address everyday living expenses and healthcare; alternatives, like reverse mortgages are being considered. RMLN, Inc. is committed to providing seniors with objective information, free of fraudulence, and holds memberships with the National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC) and NRMLA. In addition, the site's Compliancy Center (http://www. reversemortgageadviser. com/Reverse-Mortgage-Compliance. asp) serves as a tool to allow site visitors to file consumer complaints directly with the BBB and FTC when necessary.

The site will be consistently found at the top of the major search engines through a variety of Search Engine Marketing techniques. RMLN, Inc. is constantly seeking out lenders with a consistent track record of reliability and commitment to serve as qualified lender recommendations to the site's visitors. Its extensive network of informational sites strive to empower and educate seniors by providing a safe place to find accurate and objective, as well as trusted lenders locally and throughout the entire United States. The site includes a calculator (http://www. reversemortgageadviser. com/Reverse-Mortgage-Calculator. asp), informational videos (http://www. reversemortgageadviser. com/Reverse-Mortgage-Video. asp) and printable guide downloads (http://www. reversemortgageadviser. com/Reverse-Mortgage-Guides. asp) from sources like NRMLA, AARP and Fannie Mae.

The site's lender network also assists lenders in increasing their online exposure and growing their business. "Today's lender needs to have a balanced marketing strategy to remain competitive, and that means having an online presence that works -- a website alone is no longer sufficient. Unfortunately, online marketing can be extremely expensive, especially when most lenders are responsible for generating their own leads," explains Gretchen Williams, Director of Marketing and Sales for RMLN, Inc. Today's successful advertisers know that online marketing is arguably the most effective source of advertising available. The leads that online marketing generates have a higher close ratio than any other form of advertising because the prospect has already made several decisions before allowing themselves to become a lead. "Since our leads are generated by online marketing, are consumer-initiated and delivered real-time, they are of a much higher quality than the typical leads many lenders are accustomed to paying for," says Williams, who also has years of experience consulting real estate agents on effective Internet marketing and lead follow up.

RMLN, Inc. has several product offerings including state listings as part of the site's lender network, seminar/webinar calendar postings and directory listings. RMLN, Inc. hopes to roll-out other offerings in the near future including real-time leads, live call and chat transfers and newsletter sponsorship.

State listings appear as part of the site's Reverse Mortgage Lender Network (http://www. reversemortgageadviser. com/Find-A-Reverse-Mortgage-Lender. asp) where website visitors can search for lenders by county throughout the entire United States. The calendar posting and directory listings serve as a means for lenders and other educators to advertise and gain online exposure to the senior population that is already seeking their services. More importantly they provide the type of information and resources that the senior population needs to conduct objective research.

For additional information on reverse mortgages, leads and becoming an RMLN lender (http://www. reversemortgageadviser. com/Press-Release. asp) visit ReverseMortgageAdviser. com or contact Gretchen Williams at 800-407-6365. You can also see Gretchen at NRMLA's 2007 Western Regional Meeting in Newport Beach, CA February 21-22 as a panel discussion participant. The discussion is entitled, 'The More the Merrier: Options for Getting Information Out to Prospective Borrowers' and will cover information on websites, online and offline advertising, in addition to the use of lead generation programs. Visit nrmlaonline. org for panel discussion times and a complete event calendar.

Promising Parenting Discoveries Revealed by Mental Health Practitioner

Promising Parenting Discoveries Revealed by Mental Health Practitioner

A mental health practitioner reveals promising discoveries about how parents can fully develop their love for their children, resulting in fulfilled parents and happy, respectful kids.

Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) January 4, 2010

Every parent’s 2010 New Year’s resolution is for their kid to be happy and respectful to others -- and it wouldn’t hurt for parents to feel happy about parenting once in a while, either.

That’s exactly what every parent can expect after reading the just-released Unleashing the Power of Parental Love (Lighthouse Love Productions, LLC, January 2010). Author Gary M. Unruh, MSW LCSW, and a child mental health practitioner for nearly forty years, has made promising discoveries about the oldest parenting source around, parental love. Midwest Book Review (http://www. midwestbookreview. com/sbw/dec_09.htm) says: “…Unleashing the Power of Parental Love is a top pick that should not be ignored by overwhelmed parents.”

But what can possibly be new about parental love? The first part of the answer comes from every one of the 2,500 kids Unruh has counseled. They all say they want to feel “good,” “lovable,” or “acceptable,” and they want to avoid being “bad.” Unruh adds, “Every one of the kids said, in one way or another, that this 'I'm good' (http://tinyurl. com/y89aebl) need was the most important thing in their lives -- way more than a 360 elite X-box.” When “I’m good” is established “for who I am on the inside,” the best kind of happiness occurs. And respect for others is a by-product. Feeling valued is the best learning experience for respecting others, the acquired ability to see and support the good in others.

But what does this “I’m good” business have to do with parental love? Everything. Unruh elaborates: “Buried under every parent’s love for their child, I found an uplifting second discovery. Parents could be trained to establish ‘I’m good’ within their child by continually focusing on and validating the good in their child, even during disciplining.” To Unruh’s pleasant surprise, “Parents acquired these fundamental unleashing-parental-love skills within three or four parenting sessions, and the overall number of sessions per counseling episode was shortened by 30 to 40 percent.

And there’s much more to Unruh’s book than the extensive tips and hints. Unruh backs up his examples by translating what every good therapist knows and does in the office into parent-friendly home-therapy skills. Parents can then literally do in their homes on an ongoing basis a lot of what a therapist does in the office. Not a bad idea for a country that’s trying to reduce health costs! Here’s a sampling of other discoveries parents will learn to implement with their children:

Establish and begin all parent/child interactions with the following foundational belief: Children are born fundamentally good. Put a child’s feelings first and behavior second in every parent/child interaction. Feelings represent the center of the child, where the good resides. Validating feelings equals valuing the child, which creates “I’m good.”

Engage in two kinds of must-do training exercises from birth on: (1)guilt training (http://tinyurl. com/ya8qekr): teaching your child what’s right and wrong; and (2) delayed-gratification training: “I’ll do it my way when I want to” will not fly. Always discipline (http://tinyurl. com/y8f77aq) with firm, consistent, respectful limits.

Beware of two natural parenting tendencies that don’t work: (1) parents thinking their child should automatically think, feel, and act just like the parent; and (2) parenting just like the parent was parented. And always fit what parents want for their child into who the child is -- where the child is developmentally and the child’s unique personality.

Follow the five-steps-of-change guidelines: moving from not willing to think, to willing to think, to planning, to acting, and then monitoring for continued success. Discipline is much more productive and easier using these change guidelines.

These principles give parents a taste of what Unruh means by unleashing parental love. Unruh enthusiastically concludes, “All parents love their children, but few parents have adequately tapped into the profound power of unleashed parental love. With the release of Unleashing the Power of Parental Love, the rewarding results I’ve seen in thousands of my clients are now available to families everywhere -- happy parents and happy and respectful kids.”

Yeollin Sesang Co., a Leading Korean Manufacturer of Specialized Utility Carts, Introduces Cost-Effective, Lightweight, Eco-Friendly Product Line to the U. S. Market

Yeollin Sesang Co., a Leading Korean Manufacturer of Specialized Utility Carts, Introduces Cost-Effective, Lightweight, Eco-Friendly Product Line to the U. S. Market

New, ergonomically designed utility carts maximize usability and employee efficiency while being friendly to the environment. Made from 100% recycled plastic, fatigue is minimized and expense is reduced for hospitals, factories, offices, research laboratories and other businesses needing an effective solution to keep supplies organized and equipment mobile

New York, NY (Vocus) November 3, 2010

More than 300 companies throughout the world in countries such as Japan, Denmark, Italy, Thailand, Yemen, Mexico and Greece depend on Yeollin Sesang’s high quality, cost-effective utility carts for multi-purpose use. Now, U. S. hospitals, offices, research labs and more can benefit from the superior comfort and innovative design of these multi-functional carts, created to meet customers’ needs without sacrificing the environment.

“Yeolin Sesang partners with businesses to help them promote efficiency in the workplace,” said Mr. Hee-Sun Jung of Yeolin Sesang. “Each cart is designed and manufactured for effectiveness and value with an underlying focus on comfort and the environment. We manufacturer from 100% recycled plastic and bioengineer specific corners and angles to create elaborate design, without elaborate costs.”

Getting supplies from one area to another in a clinic or hospital in an efficient and effective manner is a common challenge for modern medicine. And since transportation carts are typically made of heavy materials, users experience fatigue or discomfort while using them. Yeollin Sesang’s multi-function carts can transport everything from medical supplies to meals safely and efficiently while minimizing fatigue. Because they are ergonomically designed and built with the user in mind, medical personnel stay organized and gain access to the tools they need, when they need them, increasing response capabilities. Even the smaller designs are lightweight enough to be stored in restricted areas safe from theft or improper usage and loaded onto multi-use carts for easy portability.

“Carts are getting smarter. Several cart manufacturers serving healthcare are shifting focus away from simply providing the wheels and steel that make bedside computing possible,” says Kevin Featherly, McGraw Hill news editor. “In effect, they are becoming medical device companies changing the concept of the “all-in-one” cart to provide more functionality.”

Yeollin Sesang carts are a cost-effective effective solution to keep supplies organized and equipment mobile, which is often needed in hospitals, skin care/beauty salons, factories, kitchens, offices, research laboratories and restaurants. Some models connect with a cosmetic system and utility hanger, which works superbly in hospitals as a dressing cart. Utility buckets and drawers can also be attached, which makes it easy to pack accessories. All products have a self-locking system for extra safety and can be equipped with a brake caster upon request.

“Our extremely scalable utility carts are made from eco-friendly, recyclable materials combined with innovative technology and research to create affordable products with the ultimate comfort,” says Hee-Sun Jung of Yeollin Sesang. “We are continually expanding our business territory by listening to customers needs, keeping their satisfaction priority number one, and maintaining our goal of Better Products & Better Services.”

Low cost utility carts are especially important for the medical community. As the 50+ age group continues to rise, more healthcare procedures will be demanded, which will require additional medical furniture and supplies. The stock of medical equipment will expand and the rate of replacement will increase. Additionally, 3rd party payers like Medicare and Medicaid, determine the cost reimbursement levels for medical supplies and furniture, causing healthcare industry participants to stay within strict guidelines to the price of industry products and services. As demand for affordable, eco-friendly products rises, Yeollin Sesang leads the cart manufacturing industry.

“It’s apparent that Yeollin Sesang specifically designs utility carts to enhance user comfort,” says Larisa Hernandez. “Because they are more affordable, we can provide more carts for the company. Our staff appreciates the smooth functionality and convenience of the carts on each floor, which encourages productivity and efficiency.”

Traditionally, multi-purpose utility cards have been made with a combination of steel and plastic, which makes these carts heavier and about twice as expensive as the Yeollin Sesang product line. Yeollin Sesang manufactures carts using 100% recyclable plastic, which provides consumers with lighter, more affordable carts that they prefer. The lighter weight makes the carts exceptionally easy to transport and disassemble and their durable quality is guaranteed. Plus, producing new plastic from recycled material uses only two-thirds of the energy required to manufacture it from raw materials.

"Let every individual and institution now think and act as a responsible trustee of Earth, seeking choices in ecology, economics and ethics that will provide a sustainable future, eliminate pollution, poverty and violence, awaken the wonder of life and foster peaceful progress in the human adventure,” says John McConnell, founder of International Earth Day.

About Yeollin Sesang Yeollin Sesang Co. was established in 2005 as a distributor of utility carts and began manufacturing carts in 2006 after improving the existing plastic and steel carts available in the industry. The company has five injection machines at its Korean factory and production capacity is approximately 5,000~6,000 pieces a month. Yeollin Sesang Co maintains three utility model registration certificates, five design registration certificates, and is certified with ISO 9001:2008 and CE (Declaration of Conformity).

New York-Based Effort Aids Disaster - Ten Homes for Tsunami Orphans in Aceh, Indonesia

New York-Based Effort Aids Disaster - Ten Homes for Tsunami Orphans in Aceh, Indonesia

New York based non-profit organization has become key player in reconstruction efforts following the devastating tsunami in Aceh, Indonesia last December 26.

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 13, 2005

Orphans International (OI) Worldwide, a New York based non-profit organization building interfaith orphanages around the globe, has become a key player in reconstruction efforts following the devastating tsunami that washed Aceh, Indonesia's shores one year ago.

With the help of Hollywood, Silicon Valley, the Roosevelt Island community, Rotary Chapters in Huntington and Northport, the Red Cross of Monaco, Northport High School on Long Island, Spring Hill Elementary School outside Washington, and the Grodzins and Luce families, OI has opened a campus for tsunami orphans in Sumatra with ten homes completed, being built, or soon under construction.

Each child in OI’s care needs four sponsors, three to cover immediate costs and one to endow the child’s future with post-high school education or training. A child sponsor contributes $600 per year towards the child's care and is encouraged to visit the campus. A small home for four children costs $18,000 to build.

In addition to the Princess Grace Home for Tsunami Orphans, the OI Sumatera campus also has a functioning health clinic open to the community and a multi-function classroom. A satellite-linked computer clinic is being opened, with contributions from corporations such as CNN in Jakarta. Air France, Singapore Airlines, and China Airlines have provided transportation to OI staff and volunteers.

"It is amazing to me that we have had the impact we have had from the other side of the world," states OI America president Rosa Suárez. "We now have 12 children in our care, with another 27 ready to move in – and we need sponsors for each of them," Suárez adds. By the end of 2006 OI expects to house 72 tsunami orphans outside Banda Ache, the capital city of the Aceh Province on the island of Sumatera in Indonesia.

Orphans International America has received bi-partisan support from leaders such as former president Bill Clinton, Mayor Mike Bloomberg, Sen. Chuck Schumer, and Sen. Hillary Clinton, Gov. George Pataki, as well as many New York City-based public officials. State Rep. Pete Grannis spoke at last month’s annual benefit held at the Harvard Club in Manhattan. Orphans International is a non-partisan organization incorporated in New York in 2002.

Last month in Indonesia, the Acehenese Ministry of Social Affairs recognized Orphans International's work with tsunami orphans along with UNICEF and Save the Children. The Chair of OI Worldwide’s Global Advisory Board is H. S.H. Prince Albert II. OI America was founded by Jim Luce and is designated as a 501(c)3 organization by the IRS.

OI's mission is "Raising Global Citizens" and OI's children remain in their native countries to become educated to their fullest potential and then help move their countries forward; OI does not place children for adoption in America. Projects are also running in both Sulawesi, Indonesia, and Gonaives, Haiti.

Projects in formation include Romania, Togo, El Salvador, the Philippines, Peru, Ghana, the Dominican Republic, and Guyana. Future plans include working with AIDS orphans in both China and India. Each OI campus is working towards full programming for the orphaned children and the village community with classes for English, computer science, and a strong emphasis on the arts.

For more information, write info@oiww. org. More information is also available on OI's website, www. oiww. org; the organization's free monthly e-newsletter is available by e-mail. A photo-essay by Brooklyn-based photographer Michael Bierman is available by pdf.

Tax-deductible contributions for the tsunami orphanage may be earmarked "tsunami" and sent to "Orphans International" at 540 Main Street, Ste. 418, New York, N. Y. 10044. Last year less than 3% of OI America’s income was spent on management.

QuitNet, World’s Largest Online Smoking Cessation Program, Can Help Kick the Habit During The Great American Smokeout...and Long Term

QuitNet, World’s Largest Online Smoking Cessation Program, Can Help Kick the Habit During The Great American Smokeout...and Long Term

For those who have been thinking about quitting smoking, The Great American Smokeout is a perfect time to get started, and smoking cessation programs, like Healthways QuitNet, are there to support and motivate throughout this process.

(Vocus) November 14, 2007

This Thursday, Nov. 15, is The Great American Smokeout – a day smokers are encouraged to give up smoking for 24 hours in the hope that realizing this small goal will help enable them to quit for good. Smoking has been recognized as the single most preventable cause of premature death in America – tobacco use is responsible for more than 440,000 deaths in the US each year, and costs the nation more than $75 billion in direct medical expenses and $82 billion in lost productivity.

For those who have been thinking about quitting smoking], The Great American Smokeout is a perfect time to get started, and smoking cessation programs, like Healthways QuitNet, are there to support and motivate throughout this process. QuitNet’s website (www. quitnet. com)] is host to a thriving online community of thousands of smokers and ex-smokers who support each other with practical tips and celebrations of milestones.

After only one day without smoking, there are already immediate health benefits:
Just 20 minutes after your last cigarette, your blood pressure and pulse rate drops to nearly the level it was before that cigarette, and the body temperature of your hands and feet increases.  8 hours after your last cigarette, carbon monoxide levels in your blood drops to normal and the oxygen level in your blood increases to normal.  24 hours after your last cigarette, your chance of a heart attack decreases.

Some strategies to be smoke-free for good:
Change habits that you associate with smoking. If you typically smoke while talking on the phone, talk in a different room, hold the phone in the other hand, or sit in a different chair. If you usually smoke while sitting in your favorite chair, avoid that chair for a while.  Keep busy. Take up a hobby, go to the movies, go for a walk, work around the house, call or visit friends, write letters, read a book … the possibilities are endless.  Keep your hands and mouth occupied. Try sugarless mints or gum, toothpicks, sunflower seeds, carrot and celery sticks, crushed ice, or water. QuitNet members find that typing messages keeps their fingers busy and gets them support during a strong craving.

Watkins Home Business Income Opportunity Presents Gourmet Food & Spices In A Friendly Setting. Are you looking for a legitimate, fun way to generate part time or full time income working from home?

Watkins Home Business Income Opportunity Presents Gourmet Food & Spices In A Friendly Setting. Are you looking for a legitimate, fun way to generate part time or full time income working from home?

Starting back in 1868, Watkins purveyed the only health "remedies" that came with a money-back guarantee. That guarantee still remains, along with a reputation for using only the finest natural ingredients. Watkins Good Tastings™ events or parties, introduced in 2003, are relaxed, festive, fun events where guests enjoy gourmet food and companionship and discover products that will be favorites in their kitchens and homes. While there are other home business opportunities out there, no other company can match Watkins longstanding reputation for product excellence and business integrity.

(PRWEB) September 24, 2004 -

Watkins USA Manager of the Year 2004 and member of The Summit Group, Carolyn Munn, is convinced that Watkins Good Tastings™ is a fun homebusiness for anyone who is looking for a part time income opportunity and who likes to entertain and enjoys good food. The timing couldn't be better with the holiday season fast approaching. "People are looking for easy but distinctive entertainment ideas. This means there is lots of opportunity for those who want to work from home to present Watkins gourmet foods, spices, and other quality products in a friendly environment and make extra income while having fun," she emphasizes. "It is easy to get started. By following the training guidelines, a new person or associate can be up and running within just a couple of weeks. It really is an incredibly simple, easy system which is great for busy people who would like to earn extra income part time or change careers and go full time."

Good Tastings™ events allow the hosts to entertain with ease and earn free products and gifts for themselves. Experienced party givers have found Good Tastings™ events extremely fun and easy to do and they don't take near the time or quantity of products as other party plans they have been involved with.

For those serious about a home business, Watkins has a simple risk-free start-up with minimal costs. At the time the new associate enrolls, he orders the Basic Kit and the Good Tastings™ Starter Kit which contains all the materials and products needed to conduct four average-sized Good Tastings™ events. That is a cost of $10 per event not counting sales tax, shipping, stamps, etc. Munn also recommends that her new Good Tastings™ associates purchase the brand new 90 minute training video (DVD) - just $9.99(US). Even experienced event holders find this new video valuable and motivational for growing their Good Tastings™ home businesses. "I wouldn't be without it," states Munn, who won four awards at the Watkins International Business Conference in June 2004.

To find how you can work from home with Watkins Good Tastings™ visit: http://www. cmisummit. com/catalog (http://www. cmisummit. com/catalog)
(In the left column click "About Us" and then "Our Products" to find "Good Tastings".)

What is Good Tastings™? Munn summarizes, "It's about an income opportunity that's simple for anyone who loves great food and gourmet spices. If you love good food mixed with integrity, quality, and guarantees; Watkins Good Tastings™ might be right for you." She adds, "I will help you identify your needs and wants, and help you identify how you can taste success with Watkins. This is easy to do because I can use Watkins 'Business Interview Guide: Taste Success with Watkins' and at the same time teach my new associates to do the same thing with their businesses."

Munn admits there are other home business opportunities out there, but most don't have duration or integrity. To those who have never heard of Watkins, Munn makes the following recommendations. First, Watkins specializes in award-winning products, made with the world's finest ingredients and backed by the world's first money-back guarantee. Second, Watkins offers a wide-variety with something for everyone and essential products that people need and use (over 350 products - not just food & spices). Third, Watkins part time or full time income earning opportunity presents marketing methods to fit any lifestyle - Good Tastings™ is just one method.
