Hyderabad News acquires Dhamaka Global Connect

Hyderabad News acquires Dhamaka Global Connect

(PRWEB) November 1, 2005

Hyderabad News (HNN), an Asian news & features portal with 500 regional servers, or ports, serving on average 60 local news & general web sites, recently launched a new Partner Site program, Dhamaka Global Connect.

Hyderabad News relies on thousands of professional journalists working for local news organizations around the world. They report the news for local release and HNN picks up this coverage and delivers it worldwide. The HNN provides critical news coverage from "inside out" - first-hand reports from indigenous journalists who are actually living and not just reporting the news. Our sources also provide "no-holds-barred" opinion, editorial and analysis. These insights cannot be found on mainstream news outlets based in North America and Western Europe that select and edit the news for Western areas.

Who are these news sources? HNN includes but goes beyond the usually recognized sources of news and information to include other highly credible sources not found on any other news service. We partner with other independent and highly professional providers of information - including newspapers, television and radio stations, news web sites, governmental agencies, and non-governmental organizations. A link at the bottom of each news story opens a directory that describes the news source. This media database includes information about the source, such as its ownership, political orientation, circulation, frequency, format, contact information, and web site URL.

Hyderabad News routinely breaks news on a global basis - on topics ranging from Al Qaeda involvement in the Philippines to new telecom investments in North Africa -- and supplies our readers with news and information that is intelligently parsed to suit specific news or enterprise interests. Our news feed covers events in business, politics, social issues, health, environment, international affairs, oil and energy, technology, education, media, entertainment and other realms important to businesses, media, government agencies, civil society and educators.

HNN is a mission-critical resource for any media organization covering global topics. Our news and information provides critical insights and unfolding trends for any organization with an interest in global issues or with geographically dispersed facilities, workforce, assets, brands or customers. News stories hit the wire the moment they are published in their local market. There is no editorial middleman to slow the release of the news -- and you get ALL the news, not just what is selected by the Western press. DNN readers can also "shadow" the mainstream press to get the other side of the story and monitor "News Not in the News" to discover what's not being covered elsewhere.

One of India's premier news web sites, Hyderabad News, recently joined Dhamaka Global Connect as a Partner Site. Hyderabad News serves original regional news within India and offers a wide variety of community focused stories, boasting a readership of over 5 million to date.

Dhamaka Global Connect provides its Partner Sites an ability to load there html pages for all their originally written content that is then available amongst Partner Sites to choose those stories of interest they would like to display for their audience at no charge to the members.

"We are extremely glad to have Ms. Kajol Singh's publication as a Partner Site in our Global Connect program. It is our goal to bring together as many news web sites from around the globe to freely share their content with each other," said M H Ahsan, Managing Editor, Hyderabad News.

Team supporters can raise money by participating in a dinner fundraiser June 8th at the Littleton Texas Roadhouse near Kipling and C-470. From 4:00 to 10:00 PM that evening, for every guest who mentions Team Road Rage the restaurant will donate 10% of their total bill towards the team goal.

Baxa Chairman and CEO, Greg Baldwin, rode in the 2004 Courage Classic and joins Team Road Rage again this year. “This is great event to give back to our community while having some fun with colleagues and friends,” he notes. “Baxa is delighted to be both a supporter and a participant in this fundraiser and I encourage all of our associates to ride, pledge or dine in support of The Children’s Hospital.”

Australian health writer Andrew Cavanagh chooses people over profits by writing for small regional newspapers

Australian health writer Andrew Cavanagh chooses people over profits by writing for small regional newspapers.

Health writer Andrew Cavanagh has passed up high paying health magazines and publishers to write a high quality weekly health feature for regional newspapers with circulations as low as 1,500. Mr Cavanagh makes his regular features affordable by charging a minimal fee. He now plans to expand his weekly health feature into small newspapers all over the world.

Cairns, Australia (PRWEB) January 31, 2004

Health writer Andrew Cavanagh has passed up high paying health magazines and publishers to write a high quality weekly health feature for regional newspapers with circulations as low as 1,500. Mr Cavanagh makes his regular features affordable by charging a minimal fee. He now plans to expand his weekly health feature into small newspapers all over the world.

"I feel like I'm really making a difference in the lives of everyday people," said Mr Cavanagh from his home office in Cairns, Australia. "Simple changes in diet and lifestyle can often reverse conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression and many other common diseases. Writing for small regional newspapers I can reach people who are confused about health issues and give them simple, straightforward advice that works."

Mr Cavanagh's business approach is refreshingly altruistic. He provides a health consultancy service with the unusually liberal fee structure of "any donation, any time." A professional health speaker capable of charging a substantial fee, in his home town of Cairns he speaks for a string of small community based groups free of charge. He also gives away his two books One hour to glorious health and permanent weight loss and From depression to glorious health in six steps completely free of charge.

"Newapaper editors interested in running my weekly features will be thrilled to know I'm probably the worst negotiator in the history of publishing," said Mr Cavanagh. "I know my health features attract significant advertising to these newspapers but I'm honestly not motivated by money. My greatest reward is to free people from needless suffering. Revolutionizing your health is not hard. All It takes is some good science and some good old common sense."

Andrew Cavanagh is an Australian health writer willing to forgo the pursuit of high profits in favor of service to his fellow man. Editors of small regional newspapers seem to be the biggest winners purchasing the Rolls Royce of health features at what amounts to the price of an old Ford. "True wealth," said Mr Cavanagh, "has nothing to do with the balance in your bank account."

Andrew Cavanagh is a professional health writer and speaker and a member of the Australasian Medical Writer's Association. He is the author of One hour to glorious health and permanent weight loss and the groundbreaking From depression to glorious health in six steps. Both books can be downloaded free at www. geocities. com/glorioushealth (http://www. geocities. com/glorioushealth )

Tahitian Noni Extra Released With 16 Different Iridoids

Includes the Broadest Spectrum of Iridoids of any Tahitian Noni Bioactive Beverage

Provo, UT (Vocus) March 19, 2010

Tahitian Noni International (http://www. tni. com/united_states/english/tahitiannoni/index. html? np=1) (TNI) announced the introduction of Tahitian Noni® Extra (http://products. tni. com/united_states/english/nonistore/v9index. html)™–a new bioactive beverage that provides the broadest range of iridoids of any Tahitian Noni® product with 16 different iridoids (http://research. tni. com/united_states/english/research/iridoids. html).

Age, stress, and extreme physical activity take a toll on the body. Tahitian Noni Extra delivers a potent blend of noni (http://research. tni. com/united_states/english/research/difference. html), blueberry, and olive iridoids that boosts energy and endurance, supports joint health, aids recovery, promotes heart health, enhances the immune system, and helps protect against oxidative stress. Extra is ideal for people with advanced needs and provides 60 mg of iridoids per 60 ml serving.

Noni, blueberries, and olives all contain powerful bioactive compounds that posses a wide range of potential health benefits. Chief among these compounds are iridoids, which have been studied for over 50 years and include a broad range of research. The combination of these 16 different iridoids makes Extra one of the most powerful bioactive beverages available today. And unlike flavonoids or carotenoids in so-called “superfruit” juices, iridoids are extremely heat and time stable. The iridoids in Tahitian Noni® bioactive beverages have been shown to retain their potency and bioactivity long after processing, pasteurization, and storage.

Tahitian Noni Extra is loaded with over 150 phytonutrients that also make it a powerful adaptogen. Adaptogens take a personalized approach to safely benefit the health and function of your body’s systems. These coumpounds help living things maintain a natural, healthy balance.

“This new bioactive beverage (http://research. tni. com/united_states/english/research/bioactives. html) could possibly be the healthiest drink on earth,” stated Jeff Wasden, vice president of Global Marketing for Tahitian Noni International.

About the Company

Headquartered in Provo, Utah, Tahitian Noni International has a presence in over 70 markets around the world, and is the worldwide leader in bioactive beverages.

Hearing Aid Advice, Just A Click Away

Hearing Aid Advice, Just A Click Away

New Site Serves as Master Guide for Hearing Aid Patients

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 1, 2009

Not all hearing aids (http://www. adviceonhearingaids. com) are appropriate for every person. Thankfully, the newly launched site http://www. AdviceOnHearingAids. com (http://www. AdviceOnHearingAids. com) exists to help consumers make an informed choice and find a trusted hearing clinic in their area. The site, which is maintained by audiologists and hearing health care specialists, acts as a purely educational resource with the goal of bringing practitioners and patients together.

"The biggest benefit of the site is its extensive information regarding all the major brands of hearing aids," said Dr. Kelly Calkins, Audiologist (http://www. adviceonhearingaids. com/audiologist. aspx). "It lets the patient know some of the options out there and helps them find an approved hearing clinic that they can trust."

The site's main draw is its comprehensive ratings system, which allows patients to quickly compare hearing aids (http://www. adviceonhearingaids. com/hearing-aids-products. aspx) based on options, quality, price, and more. It also lets visitors browse articles written by industry experts, flip through brochures with just a click of the mouse, and watch videos on selected products along the way.

Constant updates cover up-to-date research findings on nearly every type of hearing aid, making it simple to stay on the cutting edge of the latest advancements in hearing technology. Visitors can also browse frequently asked questions, look up helpful information on hearing losses, and interact with other patients and clinics around the world in the Advice On Hearing Aids forum.

It's also really easy to find a trusted provider in the Advice network. Simply type your zip code into the locator box on the left hand side of every page, and a list of qualified hearing providers instantly appears. Patients can also read papers that a particular office has published and look at their photos and office credentials.

The site has evolved into more than a resource. Forums regarding specific audiology topics bring patients and providers together. The Expert Advice tab reveals discussions on concerns as varied as basic care of hearing aids, the difference between digital and analog models and symptoms of hearing loss (http://www. adviceonhearingaids. com/hearing-loss. aspx).

"Advice On Hearing Aids is the most comprehensive hearing aid information site for both patients and providers," Dr. Calkins said. "Here at Advice, helping you find the information you need to make an informed decision about hearing aids is our main goal."

More Love, More Hurt

More Love, More Hurt

A new study finds that hurt feelings in relationships reflect on the perceived value of yourself, your partner, and the relationship.

(PRWEB) May 7, 2005

A study publishing in the latest issue of Personal Relationships explores why romantic relationships sometimes break down. Using a two-part research program, author Judith Feeney focused on people’s perceptions of the appraisals and emotions involved in hurtful events in couple relationships. The research tested the proposition that we feel ‘hurt’ when a relationship partner commits a relational transgression that seems to devalue the relationship, and that evokes a sense of personal injury by threatening positive mental models of the self and/or others. Hurt was strongly linked to violations of supportiveness, fidelity, openness, and trust.

In the first study, participants gave retrospective accounts of an experience of being hurt by a romantic partner. These accounts supported the above proposition, and although different types of hurtful events differed in important ways, a sense of pain and injury emerged as the dominant theme in accounts of emotional reactions. The emotion terms generated in Study 1 were used as stimuli in a word-sorting task in Study 2, which confirmed that many of the terms were perceived specifically as injury-related. The findings suggest that hurt is elicited by “...relationship transgressions that damage the victim’s core beliefs about self or others…[and] the sense of personal injury that lies at the heart of hurt feelings is often accompanied by other negative emotions, which depend on the type of hurtful event.”

An article describing this research is in the current issue of Personal Relationships. Media wishing to receive a PDF of this article please contact journalnews@bos. blackwellpublishing. net

Personal Relationships is an international, interdisciplinary journal that promotes scholarship in the field of personal relationships throughout a broad range of disciplines, including psychology, sociology, communication studies, anthropology, family studies, child development, and gerontology. It is published on behalf of the International Association for Relationship Research.

Judith Feeney is an associate professor of Psychology at the University of Queensland. She has published a large number of widely cited articles and books in the areas of marital and family relationships, interpersonal communication, and the link between personal relationship and health.

NCBA Applauds the GAO Recognition of the Cooperative Business Model as Solution for Restructuring Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

NCBA Applauds the GAO Recognition of the Cooperative Business Model as Solution for Restructuring Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

The National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA) is pleased that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) recognizes the positive value the American public can realize by restructuring Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as cooperative businesses. GAO made this recommendation in its Nov. 15, 2010, Report to Congress (http://gao. gov/products/GAO-11-33R).

Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 17, 2010

The National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA) is pleased that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) recognizes the positive value the American public can realize by restructuring Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as cooperative businesses. GAO made this recommendation in its Nov. 15, 2010, Report to Congress.

Paul Hazen, President and CEO of the NCBA said, “It is very gratifying that the GAO has recognized what we have known for years: that cooperatives – through their member ownership – responsively meet market needs.”

In the report, the GAO states, “that lenders would have financial incentives to engage in sound mortgage underwriting because, if they do not, then poorly underwritten mortgage loans sold to the cooperatives could result in significant losses [that] could adversely affect the capital investments that lenders have in such cooperatives.” The GAO report further stated, “Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac help provide a secondary mortgage market for conventional conforming loans and thereby enhance liquidity in housing finance.” However, due to the establishment as for-profit shareholder corporations, with an implied government guarantee, it led both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to take excessive risks, resulting in costs that the GAO estimates will reach $400 billion to the U. S. taxpayer.

Hazen added, “Because cooperatives operate without outside stockholders, they are able to take a long-term view for the benefit of the co-op’s owners and consumers. NCBA looks forward to working with the new Congress and the Administration to implement member-owned cooperative solutions for the myriad of challenges facing our economy.”

Over 29,000 cooperatives operate in the United States in all facets of our economy, serving farmers, small businesses, healthcare, energy and childcare among others. (For a complete listing, please visit http://www. ncba. coop). It is for this reason that the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon declared, "Cooperatives are a reminder to the international community that it is possible to pursue both economic viability and social responsibility," when announcing 2012 as the International Year of Cooperatives.

ABOUT NCBA
Headquartered in Washington, DC the National Cooperative Business Association creates cooperative connections across all sectors of the nation's more than 29,000 cooperative businesses, including agriculture, food distribution and retailing, childcare, credit unions, housing, healthcare, purchasing, worker, energy, and telecommunications cooperatives. In addition, NCBA's CLUSA International Program has helped develop cooperatives and other sustainable businesses in over 50 countries since 1953. CLUSA currently runs 23 projects in 11 countries. Horton Group to use Silanis e-SignLive with IBM LotusLive to deliver privacy policy training for protecting customer data

Horton Group to use Silanis e-SignLive with IBM LotusLive to deliver privacy policy training for protecting customer data

Silanis Technology today announced that the Horton Group – a privately held insurance brokerage firm in the U. S., will use Silanis’ e-SignLive with IBM LotusLive to train employees on the company’s privacy policies for protecting customer data.

Montreal, QC (PRWEB) September 1, 2010

Silanis Technology today announced that the Horton Group – a privately held insurance brokerage firm in the U. S., will use Silanis’e-SignLive (http://www. e-signlive. com/services. html) with IBM LotusLive to train employees on the company’s privacy policies for protecting customer data.

By moving training to the cloud, the Horton Group will make it faster, more convenient, and less costly for its 230 employees to be trained across five states, while capturing strong audit trail information that confirms employees have read, understood and agreed to follow the privacy policy.

“The insurance business is based on trust, and trust can easily be broken if customer health records, medical and treatment history, and other personal information lands accidentally or intentionally in the wrong hands,” said Kevin Palmer, Corporate Attorney, Vice-President and Privacy Officer at the Horton Group.

“That’s why, as an insurance broker that strives to provide best-in-class products and services, we take our customers’ privacy very seriously at the Horton Group,” continued Palmer. “e-SignLive (http://www. e-signlive. com/services. html) and LotusLive will enable us to deliver timely training to our new hires and existing employees, and quickly respond to any changes in regulations governing consumer privacy.”

Prior to subscribing to the integrated e-SignLive and LotusLive cloud services from Silanis and IBM, Palmer traveled to individual offices to give a live two-hour training presentation requiring hours of preparation and traveling on his part.

On-site training also required the Operations Department to coordinate associates’ availabilities and schedules, and required the Information Technology Department to set up the required computer, audio/visual equipment, and Web conferencing capabilities at each office to enable employees travelling on business to participate.

Using e-SignLive (http://www. e-signlive. com/services. html) and LotusLive (https://http://www. lotuslive. com/en/), Palmer will make the privacy policy document available on LotusLive, IBM’s secure online environment where employees can then take the time needed to carefully review and accept the privacy policy at their own pace from any location in the country.

Moreover, Palmer will be able to remotely monitor which employees have opened the document, how long they spent reading it, and who has acknowledged that they have understood and agreed to the terms. e-SignLive both provides visibility into live web processes, and records them to create stronger audit trail information and legal evidence than possible with paper.

“We selected the e-SignLive and LotusLive service because it reduces resource costs and produces a strong audit trail, without getting other departments and associates involved,” said Palmer. “We are also very pleased that the cloud service is a fraction of the cost of the other e-delivery solutions we were evaluating.”

This advantage helps you purchase the best possible solution for your hair.”

DiVa’s reputation for providing exceptional hair color services to the greater Memphis region has made it a southern institution worthy of a mention in Vogue magazine. Clients now come from all over to get color services from one of the experienced color experts on staff. Ted Cortese started the online salon to accommodate clients all over the United States who wanted a convenient way to purchase these products when they could not get to Memphis. “Because we are hair color experts, we have first-hand knowledge of how these shampoos and conditioners work on our clients’ hair. People spend a lot of money to make their hair beautiful. Keeping it looking good and healthy is a way to protect their investment. The new online salon is designed to help people do this.”

About diVa Colour Studio

DiVa offers Memphis the highest quality in natural hair color, hair color correction, highlights and hair color makeovers. Located in the center of Memphis, the salon has become the premier destination for natural looking hair color in the Midsouth. Roy Evans and Ted Cortese specialize in hair color for "the woman who does not want to look like she has been to the beauty salon." "Hair color is so important that if the wrong tone is applied, neither eye color or skin tones will be enhanced, no matter what make-up is used. It is my belief that no color should be too extreme. The color of the hair should be better than, not contrary to, nature."

Erin Rhames-Childs of Childs Law Group, PLC is Featured in Time Magazine's Salute to Women in Leadership

Erin Rhames-Childs of Childs Law Group, PLC is Featured in Time Magazine's Salute to Women in Leadership

Erin Rhames-Childs, founding partner of Childs Law Group, is featured in September's Time Magazine "Salute to Women In Leadership" which, in conjunction with United Airlines and Sky Radio Network, spotlighted a number of women leaders who excel in the fields of business and law.

Fresno, CA (PRWEB) December 16, 2008

Family law litigator and collaborative attorney, Erin Rhames-Childs, founding partner of the Childs Law Group (http://www. childslawgroup. com/attorney-profiles. aspx), is honored in September's Time Magazine Salute to Women In Leadership which, in conjunction with United Airlines and Sky Radio Network, spotlighted a number of women leaders who have excelled in the business and legal fields.

Chosen for her work in Collaborative Practice, Erin Rhames-Childs (http://www. childslawgroup. com/attorney-profiles. aspx) was featured and interviewed about what she does and why she does it. "The journalists from Sky Radio Network and Time Magazine were looking for someone who dedicated a large part of her practice to the Collaborative Divorce. I am a strong advocate for Collaborative Practice and am very involved with getting the message out to the masses so families can choose this avenue in the event they are faced with a family crisis," states Erin Rhames-Childs.

In her interview with Sky Radio Network, which featured her interview on United Airlines Ms. Childs discussed what Collaborative Practice (http://www. childslawgroup. com/practice-areas/collaborative-law. aspx) is. "Collaborative divorce is a way for a divorcing couple to preserve their relationship for after the divorce is over so that they can effectively co-parent happy and healthy children despite the restructuring of their family. Couples deal with their divorce using two collaboratively-trained attorneys and commit in writing to keep their divorce out of court. They commit to resolving their issues through a series of four-way meetings and conducting themselves with honesty, integrity and forthrightness in mind," she continues.

Collaborative divorce can't remove the pain, agony and loss in a divorce, but it can avoid the emotional destruction that happens to all family members involved in a traditional divorce. Collaborative divorce can also help protect the family finances by costing less and taking less time to complete than a litigated divorce. Ms. Childs emphasizes, "Times are tough right now for most of us. This is a great way to have your divorce done well but cost a fraction of what it would in the court of law."

Time Magazine featured Erin's leadership qualities. "Whether we are handling a litigation case or a collaborative case, I view everyone - clients, paralegals, secretaries, and law clerks - as team members. We all have to communicate, respect each other and maintain a strong work ethic to get the job done and do it well. We want to be the smartest, most effective, most honest, hardworking team in the business and expecting the best from all involved will eventually get us there. We want to be the best out there for ourselves and for our clients."

For additional information about the areas of family law and new location of Childs Law Group, contact Erin Rhames-Childs or visit www. childslawgroup. com. The law offices are open Monday through Thursday 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00 and Fridays from 8:00-12:00 if you would like to set up a time to speak with one of our attorneys or visit our offices.

Construction Completed at Naval Station Norfolk Superfund Site

Construction Completed at Naval Station Norfolk Superfund Site

The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency announced today that the U. S. Navy has completed Superfund cleanup construction at the Naval Station Norfolk/Naval Support Activity Norfolk, culminating 27 years of investigation and remediation at the largest naval base in the world.

Norfolk, VA (Vocus) November 1, 2010

The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency announced today that the U. S. Navy has completed Superfund cleanup construction at the Naval Station Norfolk/Naval Support Activity Norfolk, culminating 27 years of investigation and remediation at the largest naval base in the world.

The EPA considers construction completion as the most important Superfund milestone because it means that all physical construction of the cleanup remedies are complete, all immediate threats have been addressed and all long-term threats are under control.

“Getting to this point in the cleanup process required a team approach and a close working relationship among the Navy, EPA, and Virginia,” said EPA Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Shawn M. Garvin. “Not only was assessment and cleanup considered in the process, but over the course of the cleanup, reuse of contaminated land to support the Navy mission was a top priority.”

Overall, the Navy spent more than $100 million on 170 locations known, or suspected to be contaminated throughout the facility. When the cleanup work began, there were locations covered with drums filled with tons of waste. Now, the land is available to support the Navy’s mission.

The Naval Station and Support Activity were added to the Superfund National Priorities List in 1997. Between 1997 and 2010, EPA, the Navy and the Virginia worked together to ensure that the cleanup was consistent with current Superfund and Department of Defense guidance. A risk assessment was performed for each of the 170 sites and where unacceptable risk to human health or the environment was found, action was taken. The last site on the base requiring cleanup was addressed this past August.

In September of 2010, EPA’s mid-Atlantic office, which includes Virginia, determined that both installations at this facility, had met the criteria for being added to EPA’s construction completion list. More information on the site is available at: http://www. epa. gov/reg3hwmd/super/sites/VA6170061463/index. htm.

Honour Yourself: Inspiring Lessons to Enrich Your Life will Start the Positive Journey toward Self-respect

Shakespeare may have said it better than anyone else could: "To thine own self be true," he wrote -- "and thou canst not then be false with anyone." Kathleen Stephany understands the power of Shakespeare's insightful words. She's a registered nurse and a practising Canadian family counsellor and she has spent much of her adult life offering advice, assistance and personal therapy to adults, couples and young people.

(PRWEB) December 31, 2007

Honour Yourself -- and learn to love your life. This new book carries a message that each and every one of us needs to hear.

One of the constant themes in her work has been to encourage people to simply believe in themselves and to encourage their own internal sense of self-worth. She has literally taken Shakespeare's immortal words to heart.

That is why she has chosen to apply the guiding principles of her counselling practice in her newly published book entitled Honour Yourself: Inspiring Lessons to Enrich Your Life. This 141-page book carries with it a message that each and every one of us needs to hear -- that to honour yourself, to treat yourself and your own needs with dignity and respect does not have to imply a form of selfishness and self-centredness.

As Stephany observes, a fulfilled life is all about balance. Honouring yourself, she says, is not about ignoring the needs of others; it is, instead, the very opposite because you cannot properly love and respect others unless you have a healthy respect for your own self-worth. Inner peace, joy and fulfillment, Stephany says, must come from inside ourselves. It must come from within, from the heart and the soul.

Stephany acknowledges that it took time and perseverance even for herself to reach the point of self-love and self-respect. It took her many, many years before she was able to become comfortable with the notion of honouring herself.

And now, she says, her life is filled with a sense of adventure, humour, serenity, peace, love and joy. And isn't that something that we would all wish for ourselves and those we love?

Honour Yourself is a lovely work. It's written simply and clearly and offers its advice and encouragement in a clear, concise manner. Read this book and you'll do yourself an enormous favour. Buy it for a friend or a loved one and you'll be offering a precious gift, one to be cherished.

Apollo Hospitals Group reaffirms its position as worlds leading center of medical excellence

Apollo Hospitals Group reaffirms its position as worlds leading center of medical excellence

Successfully performs a combination Bypass Surgery on the worldÂ’s youngest patient suffering from Hyperlipidemia

(PRWEB) September 12, 2002

New Delhi, September 10, 2002: In a development that again brings to the fore previous research findings suggesting an increased predisposition of Indians to cardiac ailments, the cardiac team at DelhiÂ’s Apollo Hospitals has performed a milestone surgery on a 17-year-old boy. The surgery, which involved a combination procedure of a Bypass Surgery and Valve Replacement, is historic in being the first conducted on such a young patient suffering from Familial Hyperlipidemia anywhere in the world. In a related development last year, the younger brother of the patient had become a part of medical history in being the youngest Indian patient at age 12 to undergo a Bypass Surgery. The procedure was performed by the same team at Apollo and he celebrates the first anniversary of his new lease of life.

Mukesh and Rajesh Kumar, sons of Air Force Sergeant D. C. Katheria, suffer from a rare cardiac ailment known as Familial Hyperlipidemia, a disease in which the body, unable to detect cholesterol buildup, keeps accumulating it causing severe coronary artery damage. While an immediate bypass surgery is the only lifesaving option available, the patient has to undergo a liver transplant for a permanent treatment.

Dr. K. S. Reddy, Coordinator of the Initiative for Cardiovascular Health Research in Developing Countries, WHO addressed a gathering of media and eminent cardiologists and cardiac surgeons at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals. Also present were Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, Dr. G. K. Mani and Dr. (Col.) V. Hariharan who were a part of Indraprastha Apollo HospitalÂ’s operating team. The speakers gave details on the case and also talked about a possible trend of younger Indians falling prey to serious cardiac ailments.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. K. S. Reddy said, “Over the last 20 years, many studies from several countries have highlighted the excess risk of heart attacks among Indians. Not only is there an excess of deaths due to CVD, but these also occur early among Indians. Nearly 53% of all CVD related deaths in India in 1990 occurred below 70 years of age, compared to only 22% in the industrial countries.”

He further said, “In view of the increased susceptibility, the reasons for which are not yet fully identified, Indians need to be much more careful about their diet, physical activity, body weight and avoidance of tobacco.”

Adding to him, Dr. Prathap C. Reddy said, “Apollo Hospitals has now conducted over 45,000 cardiac surgeries. We are now initiating a Genetic Research to identify possible genetic predisposition of Indian children to cardiac ailments. The results will offer a better understanding of the trend and may also help in formulating effective Gene Therapies to tackle the disorders”

While recent global studies have established a greater susceptibility of Indians to cardiac ailments, the two recent cases point towards a disturbing trend of Indians of younger age groups reporting serious cardiac disorders. To identify a possible genetic cause of cardiac ailments in children, the Apollo Hospitals Group is also initiating a Genetic Research using samples from the two patients. A natural predisposition towards such ailments highlights a critical role that education, awareness and prevention must play to counter this trend.

Specialists at the conference today were unanimous in suggesting a change in traditional lifestyles lead by most Indians to counter this natural disadvantage. They were also upbeat about the Genetic Research proposed by Apollo Hospitals Group that may not only establish a genetic link to such rare diseases, but also aid in evolving Gene Therapies that can prevent cardiac damage.

Till that time, only a combination of preventive lifestyle on the one hand and early detection and treatment on the other can keep mortality figures in control.

Millennium Health Supplements (Canada) Inc. acquires a supply of Wild Hoodia Gordonii from South Africa with the highest known active levels at almost 50 percent higher than reference samples used in testing facilities. The Hoodia active steroidal glycosides have unique, appetite-suppressant qualities. To develop a batch median, Millennium Health performed analytical testing with different batch samples at two different test laboratories: Alkemists Pharmaceuticals in the United States and Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Initial testing was performed in South Africa and it revealed that Millennium Health's Hoodia has 48 percent higher active levels than the Stellenbosch University reference sample. Alkemists lab testing was equally remarkable with an active level of 0.45 percent, a number that is 50 percent higher than the University of Mississippi reference sample. Typical, WILD Hoodia Gordonii samples test out in the 0.3 percent range while cultivated Hoodia is much lower, with some reading as low as 0.1 percent active.

Get Ready Rentals Opens in Six New Cities

Get Ready Rentals Opens in Six New Cities

Thanks to effective Internet marketing and steady business growth, the short term vacation apartment rental specialists, Get Ready Rentals, are ready to open in six new cities in Spain, Colombia and Western Europe in the coming months.

Barcelona, Spain (PRWEB) November 13, 2007

Since 2003, Get Ready Rentals have been offering self catering holiday apartments in Barcelona (http://www. barcelonahomes. net) to hundreds of happy customers, many of which, are now choosing apartments as their preferred choice of holiday accommodation.

But it's not just Barcelona where you can find affordable holiday accommodation with Get Ready Rentals. Following the early success in their first branch, the company began offering accommodation in Seville (http://www. getreadyseville. com) and Costa del sol apartment (http://www. getreadycostadelsol. com) in November 2006.

As Spain's popularity as a top destination in Europe continues to climb, Get Ready are preparing to capitalise on their rapid growth and experience and have all major cities in Spain covered, starting in the coming months with apartments in Granada (http://www. getreadygranada. com), Valencia and Madrid.

Gaizka Pujana, owner and operations manager, attributes a lot of his success to his established brand and effective Internet Marketing. In order to locate potential city locations for business expansion, he puts his resources into Search Engine Optimisation, optimises for several locations ahead of time, and lets the owners come to him.

"I was approached by several property owners looking for someone to manage the rental of their apartment in Valencia (http://www. getreadyvalencia. com)", he says. "After having found my sites through Google and traced my brand back to Barcelona where we are currently managing over fifteen apartments, right away they can see the potential for their own properties based on the success we've had so far" he explains.

Apartments in Madrid (http://www. getreadymadrid. com) is next on the radar with a high level of interest already from investors looking for a property manager with experience in the industry and the knowledge and capability to successfully market their apartments and secure bookings. Pujana meets both criteria, and understands the importance of working closely with the owners for healthy business growth.

"We offer a choice in the level of service we provide to apartment owners" he says. "Some choose to leave everything to us: the marketing, booking management, the cleaning, the check-ins... but others prefer to interface directly with their customers themselves, deal with their own cleaning staff, etc but need help marketing their apartment and securing bookings. We offer both options", he says.

Outside of Spain it's the same story. The Get Ready Rentals websites in Colombia are also attracting plenty of attention. People searching for bogota hotel (http://www. getreadybogota. com) will soon be able to choose from a range of apartments and hotels who have approached Get Ready Rentals to represent them.

"We have had the sites in these cities populated and ready to go for some time now" explains Pujana. "As well as the apartments, we have relevant links and well-researched travel information to help visitors plan their stay - from information about the local airport to sites and attractions in Bogota they can visit while they are there. The site is ranked well as a result of this careful preparation, so we get a lot of hits and interest from both apartment owners and prospective clients looking for holiday accommodation."

Get Ready Rentals also offers its clients live online chat support, location information about the area each apartment is in, a description of the features of each apartment, professional photographs of the accommodation and a secure online payment system, in three languages.

"Clients love it when they find information in their own language and the booking system is easy. On all Get Ready Rentals sites, visitors can book online at any time of the day or night they like. They are sent an instant email confirmation of their booking immediately, their deposit is paid and that's all they have to do until they arrive at the apartment" says Pujana.

Whats next for Get Ready Rentals? Western Europe. Next year, holidaymakers will be able to search for Amsterdam apartment rental (http://www. getreadyrentals. com) and accommodation in Nice (http://www. getreadynice. com), each with their own individual site and relevant travel information.

All individual city sites can be accessed now under the Get Ready Rentals parent site at www. getreadyrentals. com. Prices start from at 70 euros per couple per night.
