New Book Offers Christian Parents Well-Tested Strategies To Transform 'Difficult' Children Into Inspiring Leaders

New Book Offers Christian Parents Well-Tested Strategies To Transform 'Difficult' Children Into Inspiring Leaders

Licensed Clinical Social Worker Wendy A. West Pidkaminy’s new book offers stressed-out parents tried-and-true insights and tactics based on biblical principles and Howard Glasser’s landmark Nurtured Heart Approach™

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 14, 2010

Licensed Clinical Social Worker Wendy A. West Pidkaminy has written a step-by-step primer for Christian parents whose children are difficult, oppositional, hyperactive, or significantly more challenging than the norm. The book, Parenting Challenging Children with Power, Love and Sound Mind: The Nurtured Heart Approach from a Biblical Viewpoint, is based on Howard Glasser’s Nurtured Heart Approach™, a parenting method that has been shown to dramatically increase the likelihood of transforming estranged young children and teenagers in ways that modify their behaviors and activities and inspire admirable character traits and a re-direction of their boundless energies.

Pidkaminy’s obvious dedication to helping parents and children spills from every paragraph in the 233 page book. “I’ve watched these easy-to-implement principles turn difficult children -- and their parents and less-problematic siblings, too -- into truly great contributors to society. You bet I’m passionate about diving into and sharing these miraculous human makeovers.”

Inside the book Pidkaminy carefully examines, explains and teaches Nurtured Heart Approach™ rules for raising and encouraging triumphant, ethical children – including young children and teens saddled with ADD, ADHD, ODD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other serious physical, mental and emotional health challenges.

Pidkaminy has also written a companion children’s book, Jimmy and Julia’s Rainforest Adventure, to follow on the heels of the new release within weeks. The children’s book introduces the reader and the listener to how extraordinary life becomes when people celebrate each other’s natural gifts and abilities and share their delight as they move through life together. An engaging trip through a whimsical animal-filled jungle becomes a real eye-opener for all.

“These principles transformed my own family,” Pidkaminy asserts. “That’s why I jumped on the bandwagon as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and started teaching them as well. Now I can’t keep up with the many requests for intervention that this new wisdom has accorded me, so the only way to help everyone who needs it was to take the time to write a book. My prayer is that the information inside will do for every family what it did for mine. Life becomes so much richer in a home with family members who celebrate each other instead of just tolerating each other.”

Wendy A. West Pidkaminy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Adjunct Professor at Syracuse University, Nurtured Heart Specialist and speaker. For more information about her books, counseling services and speaking schedule, visit www. nurturinglifeconcepts. com.

Love Your Body Day attendees are expected to be highly diverse, wildly talented, and incredibly beautiful. Men will be welcomed with love and respect, though the focus of the celebration will be the beauty - inside and out - of real women.

The National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States. NOW has 500,000 contributing members and 550 chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Since its founding in 1966, NOW's goal has been to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW works to eliminate discrimination and harassment in the workplace, schools, the justice system, and all other sectors of society; secure abortion, birth control and reproductive rights for all women; end all forms of violence against women; eradicate racism, sexism and homophobia; and promote equality and justice in our society.

In its first two years, the Hollywood Chapter of NOW has brought a new face to feminism and tackled contemporary issues facing all women, including healthy body image, safety, and peace. "There's a lot of confusion surrounding the idea of feminism today," says Chapter President, 25-year-old Lindsey Horvath. "Hollywood NOW works to identify and address the concerns relevant to women today. Chenese's leadership for Love Your Body Day is just one way we show how feminist activism brings women together to create the world we all envision for ourselves, the world we know is possible for women."

Rochester, MN (PRWEB) February 7, 2008

In the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, individuals may still be able to perform the daily tasks necessary to live and function independently. As the disease progresses, these responsibilities increasingly fall to the caregiver.

A new section on MayoClinic. com for Alzheimer's caregivers (http://www. mayoclinic. com/health/alzheimers-caregiver/AZ00038) provides helpful information on daily routines, communicating with the patient, dealing with family issues, long-term care options and self-care.

The feature offers a number of practical tips that can make providing care easier.

-- Schedule wisely. Determine the time of day when the person is most calm and agreeable.
-- Let him or her help. Involve the person in tasks as much as possible.
-- Limit choices. Having fewer options makes deciding easier. For example, provide two outfits to choose between -- not a closet full of clothes.
-- Take more time. Expect tasks and activities to take longer than they used to. Schedule more time to complete even simple things.

New Year's Resolution Success You Can Count On

New Year's Resolution Success You Can Count On

RYP SportsÂ’ Ez-V Digital Pedometer - Making Better Health and Weight Loss Achievable in 2005

(PRWEB) January 5, 2005

As the calendar turns its page to a new year, RYP Sports unveils a sleek, new, easy-to-read pedometer that is specifically designed to assist New YearÂ’s resolution makers in achieving their exercise-oriented goals. Thanks to its large, clear display, the Ez-V Digital Pedometer takes the guesswork out of fitness accounting.

WhatÂ’s more, its thin, lightweight, clip-on design makes it portable and non-cumbersome for on-the-go use. With all these attractive features built-in, fitness enthusiasts will be happy to learn that this #H215 model pedometer is available for purchase at www. RaiseYourPulse. com for under twenty dollars.

According to a recent News 14 Carolina report based on the UNC Clinical Nutrition Research Center directorÂ’s investigative findings, 40 percent of Americans resolved to lose weight in 2004. Unfortunately, only one in five managed to do so successfully. Yo-yo dieting and food deprivation strategies most often undermined their success. In the elusive weight loss battle, calorie restriction alone just doesnÂ’t work. ThatÂ’s where incorporation of a regular exercise regimen into a healthy eating plan becomes essential. Just how much exercise is required, however, for long-term weight management success?

Both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American College of Sports Medicine recommend ten thousand steps a day, the equivalent of five walking miles. In addition to ongoing weight management, the benefits of this exercise recommendation include lower blood pressure, improved glucose tolerance and increased cardiovascular health.

A study conducted by the American College of Sports Medicine further revealed that research participants who wore pedometers walked much farther than those individuals who were merely encouraged to do so by their doctors. Thanks to its four-in-one functionality—steps, distance, calories and time of day all being accurately measured—the Ez-V Digital Pedometer is the ideal motivational tool for those who are committed to getting in shape in 2005.

Peace Lovers of Earth invited to rename 'World's Biggest Airport'

Peace Lovers of Earth invited to rename 'World's Biggest Airport'

Atlanta Global Peace Project celebrates January 1st: International One Day In Peace. Many Peace-cultivating nonprofits worldwide will participate, including Friends of Gandhi-King-Carter in Atlanta. Peace-lovers from around the Earth are now invited to sign their Global Peace Petition.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) December 27, 2005

John Randolph Naugle, co-founder for the young global nonprofit: Friends of Gandhi-King-Carter, is asking peace-lovers from around the Earth to please assist with renaming "The World's Biggest & Busiest Airport" (Atlanta). At NOON, on Sunday-January 1st (“International One Day In Peace”) Mr. Naugle is inviting all the members of the media to join him in Atlanta's Woodruff Park (in front of the Phoenix Rising Sculpture) when he announces their nonprofit's goals for 2006 [January 1st is “One Day In Peace”… an internationally recognized holiday launched by 1000 organizations in almost 140 nations].

Mr. Naugle proclaims: "To honor 3 of history's most internationally accomplished, respected, and well-known Nobel Peace Prize Laureates we are inviting peace-lovers from around the Earth to sign & forward our Global Internet Peace Petition at: www. GKC-Airport. com. To further Global Peace, we need a new name at "The World's Biggest Airport" (Atlanta). PLEASE help us to honor Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Martin Luther King, and President Jimmy Carter. Please help us to rename The World's Biggest Airport: "Gandhi-King-Carter International Airport" (individuals from 37 states & 46 countries have already signed).

Help us honor these globally respected Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, and educate about cultivating Global Peace. January 1st begins the second-half of the very first Decade of a New Century. And this first Decade launches the New Millennium (Years 2000-3000). Therefore, we must set some courageous precedents, yes? In July 2005, Sir Bob Geldof proclaimed the importance of cultivating Global Peace VERY well on the LIVE 8 Stage before 2.5 billion viewers: "Mahatma Gandhi freed a continent, Martin Luther King freed a people, and Nelson Mandela freed a country. It does work. They will listen!"

Cultivating global peace is very important. Even today there are millions of 'cousins' from our global family that are in a considerable state of suffering. Reason? Gandhi's lesson of "Peace Is The Way" is not being taught, and Dr. King's "3-Evils" are not being adequately addressed: i. e., 1) Poverty, 2) Racism, and 3) Violence are at the root of ALL the suffering going on in the 200+ countries of the Earth. Do you need specifics of how our global family suffers today?

-- 200+ Million children are malnourished and 175+ Million do not attend school.

-- 1.5 Billion people are without clean drinking water

-- 40% of the world's population suffers serious water shortages

-- 1 Billion people are unemployed; another 750 million underemployed.

-- 800 Million have no access to health services.

-- Each successive 24-hour period - over 30,000 children in various parts of the world die of hunger and disease.

-- Nearly 1.5 Billion people live in poverty on less than $1 a day.

-- There are currently over 35 different theaters of conflict & war in various parts of the globe where our extended 'family members' or 'cousins' are intentionally or unavoidably involved in religious, political, resource, economic and/or territorial disputes.

-- In the United States alone, national statistics report that there are over 2 Million homeless children. Over 500 thousand are under the age of 15, some as young as nine years old!

Mr. Naugle urges peace-lovers around the Earth: “Please sign AND forward our Online Peace-Petition and assist us to inspire the 700+ organizations registered with ‘The United Nation's International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence’ (2001-2010): www. Decade-Culture-of-Peace. org …

Atlanta’s airport will have 100+ Million visitors in 2006, and when it’s renamed: Gandhi-King-Carter International Airport, we will inspire the 1,036 cities (from 112 countries and regions) that are registered with Global Mayors for Peace: www. MayorsforPeace. org...

Gandhi-King-Carter International Airport will also inspire the many countries & individuals sustaining the goals of the VERY exciting: International Institute for Peace Through Tourism (IIPT): www. iipt. org. Friends of Gandhi-King-Carter has formally invited them to hold their 2007-Global Summit on Peace through Tourism here in “Atlanta: City of Peace”…

Gandhi-King-Carter International Airport will also inspire the many international cohorts of the "Peace is the Way" Global Community Project (Deepak Chopra was even invited to relocate): www. PeaceistheWayGlobalCommunity. org...

Friends of Gandhi-King-Carter wants to memorialize the millions of peace-lovers of the Earth who have sacrificed to further the important cause of global peace (particularly M. Gandhi, Dr. King, and President Carter). 25 years ago (December 8, 1980) internationally respected peace-activist John Lennon was shot dead as he returned to his New York apartment from a recording session. Imagine this fact...there have been numerous peace-lovers stopped cold with bullets so that we can better understand the GREAT importance there is to cultivating peace. Mahatma Gandhi, Abe Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King, and others have also been shot down. Will we forget & ignore their contributions & sacrifices?

Sadly, the general tendency of the media is to stereotype 'peace organizations' as being strictly "anti-war"! The wonderful 350 year-old quote by Spinoza corrects this "stinking-thinking":

"Peace is not just an absence of war; it is a virtue, a state of mind, and a disposition for benevolence, confidence (courage), and justice." --- Spinoza (1656)

Cultivating Peace is as important as cultivating any & every other character trait or virtue. The 1997-Georgia General Assembly passed legislation that requires Georgia schools to teach character education to its 2 million students (Section 20-2-145 of the Georgia State Code states there are 27 mandated character traits that must be taught, and the official list begins with “Courage”). Friends of Gandhi-King-Carter aims to have this Georgia State Code amended to include “Peace”.

“Atlanta: City of Peace” is home to THREE internationally respected ‘Centers of Peace Education’: The Gandhi Foundation USA, The King Center, and The Carter Center. Millions from around the Earth love these Peacemakers, Gandhi-King-Carter. “Blessed are the Peacemakers”. Many do not realize that Atlanta is also home to three Nobel Peace Prize Nominees: Senator Sam Nunn, Dr. John Endicott, and Ted Turner. A HUGE new-millennial wave of peace education is being delivered to our global family from hundreds of organizations & cities from around the world.

Naugle proclaims: “Peace-lovers from around the Earth, please sign & forward our Global Internet Peace Petition at: www. GKC-Airport. com. Help rename "The World's Biggest Airport" to: “Gandhi-King-Carter International Airport.” Let’s… Seize the New Year: 2006… and Seize this New Decade: 2000-2010… and Seize this New Century: 2000-2100… and Seize this New Millennium: 2000-3000!

Details on Friends of Gandhi-King-Carter co-founder: John Randolph Naugle is a professional clown: "Johnny D’Farmer". He has lost his savings & home in developing his nonprofit interests (he could sure use help with this nonprofit). Mr. Naugle has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, and is a Certified Georgia Master Gardener from University of Georgia-Coop Extension Service. He has donated time and talent to 100+ non-profit organizations throughout metro-Atlanta. Naugle, out of concern for the well-being of his community, even campaigned to be elected Mayor of Marietta, Georgia in 1993 & 1997.

"First they ignore you.

Then they laugh at you.

Then they fight you.

Then you win.

It is possible…

To live in peace!”

Mahatma Gandhi

“Peace is the sweeter music…

A cosmic melody that is far superior…

We will not build a peaceful world by

Following a negative path.”

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“If we are to live together in peace,

We must come to know each other better.”

President Jimmy Carter

“Imagine all the people living life in peace...

All we are saying is: give peace a chance!”

Over Scheduling: America's Time Management Crisis -- Lead a Meaningful Life Through Goal Setting and Time Management

Over Scheduling: America's Time Management Crisis -- Lead a Meaningful Life Through Goal Setting and Time Management

Over scheduling is a nationwide time management crisis. This frantic lifestyle affects all aspects of life and many people feel the strain caused by overloaded to-do lists.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (PRWEB) February 25, 2008

According to the authors of Yes, You Can... Find More Meaning in Your Life, Jack Jonathan and Sheelagh Manheim, PhD, over scheduling and lack of goal setting can prevent you from experiencing meaning in life. Contributors to www. YesYouCanOnline. info, they offer ways to gain work life balance and reaffirm what is good in life.

Jonathan and Manheim suggest finding a balance in five fundamental areas: positive thinking, good physical health, personal relationships, financial security and a passion for knowledge.

"Anyone looking to streamline their schedule can use these essentials as guidelines to help balance the way they spend their time," said Jonathan. "Paying attention to each basic area of life may help a person to feel more at peace."

The following ideas can solve the time management crisis:

-- Foster a Positive Attitude. Begin your day with a sense of wonder. Then, tackle goal setting for the day.

-- Nurture Your Body. Good time management involves nurturing your body. Ideal goal setting includes exercise and recreation.

-- Honor Personal Relationships. Work life balance is key. Utilizing time management skills helps foster meaningful relationships. When goal setting, plan to connect through lunch, phone calls, or meaningful e-mails or cards.

-- Pay Regular Attention to Finances. Set aside a regular time each month to review finances. Careful financial planning and time management will set you free to enjoy your life more.

-- Cultivate Curiosity. A passion for knowledge is one of our greatest innate gifts, and does not require a great deal of time. Ask questions and search for answers about the world around you.

-- Value Time. Jim Stowers, co-author of the soon-to-be-published Yes, You Can... Reach Your Goals and Achieve Your Dreams, comments, "Time is often taken for granted. Yet, properly used, time becomes a key multiplier that can be leveraged by effort and determination to help you achieve your dreams."

Got the Flu? Do 5 Dahn Yoga Exercises

Got the Flu? Do 5 Dahn Yoga Exercises

Winter means flu and cold season. To protect yourself from the flu, keep your immune systems healthy. Drawing from traditional Asian health practices, Ilchi Lee, founder of Dahn Yoga, indicates that the cold and damp energy conditions in the air cam enter your body and lead to the flu. Releasing this negative energy can be achieved through exercising the meridians (energy channels) and acupressure points. Lee describes five exercises, which when done daily during the flu season, can help your body sidestep or stop the flu.

Sedona, AZ (PRWEB) December 14, 2007

The winter season is here, which means it is the flu-and-cold season too. With no guaranteed vaccine against the flu and colds, avoiding and recovering from them is an annual occurrence for you and your family members.

According to Ilchi Lee (http://www. ilchi. com), president of the University of Brain Education (South Korea), "The best way to protect yourself from the flu is to keep your immune system strong. It is your greatest ally in both preventing and treating colds." He points to overexertion, fatigue, minimal exercise, poor eating and excessive stress as the usual causes of a weakened immune system.

To prevent the flu, it is important to combine consistent exercise, adequate rest and a positive attitude. As for treatment, you can get relief from the symptoms by boosting your natural healing capacity.

Lee advises, "There is merit is viewing the flu in terms of traditional body-mind energy principles, which have been practiced in Asia for thousands of years. In contrast to Western medicine's viral model of the flu, Oriental medicine holds that when energy conditions in the air are cold and damp, then this cold energy can enter your body." Two areas of the spine -- around the neck and chest -- are the most vulnerable, so these sites should be warmly covered when outdoors in cold weather.

As Lee explains, "This inner coldness often throws the body's natural systems out of balance. If the blood circulation and energy circulation do not stabilize, this cold energy remains stuck in the body, which then can bring on cold or flu symptoms." Natural treatment involves releasing this cold energy from the body, through various exercises.

Lee offers a series of meridian (energy channels) exercises, based on Dahn Yoga holistic health training (http://www. dahnyoga. com), which he founded. When practiced daily during the flu season, these exercises can help your immune system deal with the flu -- so you don't catch it, get it milder or get over it faster.

1. Breath work. Ideally, practice this breathing before sleeping. In a quiet place that is neither too hot nor cold, sit comfortably in a chair or on the floor in the half-lotus posture, straighten your back and relax your body. Once comfortable, focus on your breathing. Through your nose, inhale up to 80 percent of your capacity until you fill your abdomen. Hold your breath in your lower abdomen for a while. Exhale through your nose. Repeat this exercise until you begin to sweat. Afterwards, take a hot shower and rest.

2. Lung meridian clearing. To prevent and release energy blockages, stimulate the two acupressure points that mark the start of the lung meridian. These points are just below the collarbone in the hollows on both side of your chest. Make a fist with your right hand, with your thumb folded in, and gently tap the point on the left side by your shoulder. Do this for one to three minutes, and then switch sides. If this is too painful or feels blocked, rub these points with the pads of your fingers. Breathe naturally for one to two minutes. Switch sides.

3. Chest expanding. To enhance and strengthen circulation in the lungs, breath to expand your chest. This helps with coughs, bronchitis, emphysema, breathing difficulty and phlegm elimination. Sit in a large chair or on the floor, and lock your fingers behind your back. With your spine lengthened, but not rigid, gently bend your upper body forward from the trunk, while lifting both arms up toward the back of your head. Exhale while slowly returning to locking your fingers behind your back. Repeat three times.

4. Head turning. This exercise helps energy flow smoothly through your neck to enable the release of cold energy from the acupressure point at the base of your neck. Sit with your legs folded, with your hands on your knees. Slowly turn your head to the right until you feel resistance. Then slowly turn to the left, breathing comfortably. Do this 30 times while concentrating on releasing blocked energy from the base of your neck.

5. Nose rubbing. To help clear nasal congestion, do this exercise in the morning when waking up. As you inhale, rub your hands together to create heat energy, concentrating on your middle fingers. Breathe naturally while you place your fingers on either side of your nose. Press and gently massage your nose with your fingers for five minutes.

Tarzana, CA (PRWEB) October 13, 2006

Monica Margolis, a Los Angeles based vocal coach and founder of the "Monica Margolis Method" of vocal training is launching a new website. Monica has been teaching vocal mechanics to singers, actors, dancers, and speakers for almost 20 years. She has worked in theater and film, appeared in variety shows, worked as a voiceover artist and was chosen as Musical Director for the West Coast Dance Theatre. Monica specializes in teaching her vocal method to artists at every level of their career, from the young beginner to the major label artist. Students fly in from around the country and around the globe for "The Monica Margolis Method": the revolutionary approach to vocal training and technique. Not only has she developed a loyal following as a vocal coach, Monica also collaborates on projects with world-class musicians ranging from country songstress LeAnn Rimes to rock legend Gene Simmons.

Monica believes there are no secrets to singing correctly. If you use proper vocal mechanics you will find what you are looking for. In this pursuit she developed the Monica Margolis Method, which teaches "healthy singing" whereby the student learns to sing using their natural speaking voice, eliminating stress and pressure from the vocal chords. Students also learn to rely on their diaphragm for support and power. Because of its effectiveness, The Monica Margolis Method has become one of the most successful programs in the United States. Monica's students have been accepted to some of the world's most prestigious singing programs including Cal Arts, The Berkeley College of Music and UCLA. Under Monica's guidance, many of her younger students have been accepted to some of Southern California's premiere performing art's high schools. Monica's students have also been featured on shows such as Entertainment Tonight, Extra, The Teen Choice Awards, Late Night with David Letterman, E! and Apollo Kids, and in the publications Time, People, Tiger Beat and Pop Star Magazine. Monica's clients have also had the opportunity to work with A-list producers such as Tim Kelly/Bob Robertson (Baby Face, Boys 2 Men, destiny's Child) and the Wizard of Oz Production Company (Ricky Martin). No wonder she has been called the vocal mentor to the stars of today and tomorrow!

Monica's first stage was a wooden stepping stool in the living room of her childhood home. Her great grandparents would sit on the sofa enjoying her sweet renditions of the songs she was learning in nursery school. At 2, talent scouts singled Monica out of the crowd at school, which led to her first performance in front of a large audience. She was hooked; even at such a tender age she knew singing and performing would be a part of her life forever. Monica grew up performing in the hit kid's performing troupe Starmakers. When she auditioned she had no idea that the group was only looking for boys, but once the director saw Monica and heard her sing, it was all over. They hired her on the spot. With the group Monica toured all over Southern California performing at celebrity functions, amusement parks and many other venues, garnering awards and accolades.

Monica began teaching vocal mechanics at the age of 18 and was asked to be the Musical Director of the West Coast Dance Theatre. For two years she created all the vocal arrangements for the theatre while maintaining a busy teaching schedule. Soon her appointment book was overflowing with students and professional vocalists as well as celebrity clients and she decided to dedicate herself to coaching full time.

Monica has collaborated on past and current projects with artists such as Natalie Raitano– star of the Pamela Anderson hit TV series VIP, Cindy Margolis– internet supermodel, actress and TV Host, Dineh Mohajer– entrepreneur and founder of Hard Candy make-up, Eyvette Barlowe– lead singer of the hit group (and Rick James produced) The Mary Jane Girls and TV host, Angel Faith– lead singer of the Platinum group No Secrets and now a solo artist, Stanley Clark, George Duke, George Clinton, producer Danny Niam of The Cave studio who has worked with stars that range from Patti Labelle to Justin Timberlake and recently Monica lent her expertise to The Eagles producer Charles Faris's Hollywood Hooligans project.

Monica also worked along side world-renowned vocal coach Seth Riggs for over 10 years, however she graciously declined being an associate due to her own growing following. Seth Riggs has made a name for himself in the industry as vocal coach to A-list performers such as Kim Basinger, George Benson, Michael Bolton, Belinda Carlisle, Ray Charles, Cher, Natalie Cole, Susan Dey, Kirsten Dunst, Sherilyn Fenn, Robert Guillaume, Julio Iglesias, Enrique Iglesias, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Al Jarreau, Nicole Kidman, Val Kilmer, Nathan Lane, Madonna, Tobey Maguire, Marilyn McCoo, Bette Midler, Liza Minelli, Shirley Murdock, Eddie Murphy, Ozzy Osborne, Ruth Pointer, Prince, Bonnie Raitt, Molly Ringwald, Lionel Ritchie, Nicole Ritchie, Diana Ross, Nina Simone, Tina Turner, Deniece Williams and Stevie Wonder and worked with members of En Vogue (Terry Ellis), KISS (Paul Stanley), Stevie Wonder (Ben Bridges, Greg Phillinganes), Motley Crue (Vince Neill, Ray Pound, Hank Redd, Mike Sembella, Nathan Watts), Lou Rawls (Judy James, Yvonne Wright), Eurythmics (Anni Lennox), Chicago (Peter Cetera, Bill Chamberlain, Jason Scheff), Bob Dylan (Carolyn Dennis, Helena Springs, JoAnne Harriss), Fleetwood Mac (Billy Burnett), The Supremes (Diana Ross, Cindy Birdsong, Linda Laurence, Joanne Turrell, Mary Wilson), Marvin Gaye (Johnny Simon, Florence Lyle), Shalimar (Howard Hewitt), Red Hot Chili Peppers (Anthony Kaedis), Aerosmith (Joe Porter) and Lincoln Park (Chester).

The Monica Margolis Vocal Arts Studio is currently accepting new students for private and group lessons. To find out more about Monica and the Monica Margolis Method you may visit her website at http://www. monicamargolis. com (http://www. monicamargolis. com) to get a more detailed look and see what students have to say about her innovative and effective method.

GoodiesForUs. com: Gourmet Treats for Four-Legged Friends

GoodiesForUs. com: Gourmet Treats for Four-Legged Friends

Past events and tragedies from pet food companies have caused Americans to scramble to find better quality dog food made in the United States. Carol Hoard started GoodiesForUs. com in February 2008; the web store specializes in healthy dog treats that are made in Illinois. The site recently added an informational blog.

Ithaca, MI (PRWEB) December 10, 2008

In 2007, the Associated Press reported that over 50 brands of pet food were recalled after 104 pets died as the result of a contamination within the ingredients. This caused an uproar amongst pet owners everywhere who often pay exorbitant amounts of money to ensure the best food for their pets. Not wanting to risk the lives of dogs everywhere, longtime dog lover, Carol Hoard, did something about it, she started her own pet treat business.

Hoard's site, www. GoodiesForUs. com, specializes in gourmet dog treats made in the Illinois' Amish country.

"These are healthy treats," explained Hoard. "There's no junk in them whatsoever."

GoodiesForUs. com is Hoard's second site, as her initial web venture, DoggyBeddyBye. com, is a site that features an array of comfortable dog beds.

Still, Hoard's American-made treats are gaining traction and popularity, particularly among those who wish to avoid the dangers of imported dog food.

Unlike other dog treats, the ones on GoodiesForUs. com are not only healthy, but fun. A new line of Christmas-themed treats have recently been added to the website, with more fun themes and a wider selection to come soon.

"Every time our manufacturer has a new treat, we'll put it up," Hoard said.

Additionally, Hoard has launched a new blog to accompany her nine month old web store.

"I have some recipes and I've written up some facts about the treats on my blog," Hoard said of www. DogTreatBlog. com. "I just wanted to get as much information about keeping your dogs healthy through another avenue."

Though companies have changed their screening process and there hasn't been a pet food scare since that of last year's, the event was still instrumental in aiding folks like Carol Hoard find the best quality treats for their furry family members.

Creative Ways to Make Money Working From Home During Tough Economic Times

Creative Ways to Make Money Working From Home During Tough Economic Times

Continuing financial stress brought on by tough economic times has placed a burden on individuals and families. There is a need for near-term solutions. M. A. Richards and Company has developed a two-tiered solution that provides creative ways to make money (a) for the person in need of a second source of income working from home and (b) for the person with an existing home based business that is struggling in need of ways to generate additional revenue with an increase in online profits.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) August 20, 2008

Introducing a two-tiered solution for individuals and home based businesses that are looking to overcome their financial difficulties by supplementing their income with creative ways to make money working from home. The websites that demonstrate these two tiers are http://www. onlinepowermarketingresources. com (http://www. onlinepowermarketingresources. com) and http://www. businessgrowthsolutions. com (http://www. businessgrowthsolutions. com)].

It comes as no surprise that tough economic times are impacting most everyone. Living expenses are on the rise. Moms need cash to cover the additional expense of buying groceries and transporting their kids to school and extracurricular activities. Retired people are hit hard by the increased cost of heating their home. Employee contribution to health insurance benefits continue to rise as businesses can no longer afford to cover rising employee insurance costs. College students are experiencing increases in tuition, room and board, school supplies, and general living expenses. In general, expenses are much higher and incomes have risen very little, if at all.

There are limits as to how far expenses can be cut and many have already made these cuts. There is a need for creative ways to make extra income. The stock market is very volatile and doesn't offer an acceptable solution. Taking on a second job away from home is difficult because persons strapped financially can hardly afford the additional cost of driving to a second job. Many are receptive to the idea of taking on additional work at home but lack the knowledge and confidence required to pursue that option. Let's not forget the rising cost of going to college: tuition, room and board, travel, school supplies, etc. Many college students are looking for creative ways to make money in college.

M. A. Richards and Company LLC has chosen to provide work at home solutions to individuals and home based businesses on two tiers. On the first tier is for the person that has little or no experience in starting an online business. The second tier is for the person that has started an online business and is in need of new products they can begin to sell quickly in order to make online money now. The good news is that these solutions also work for the college student that is looking for creative ways to make money in college. Furthermore, once a person establishes themselves on the first tier, they can benefit from the products available on the second tier.

The first tier is addressed by the site www. onlinepowermarketingresources. com. The person that lacks experience in starting an online business also lacks confidence in their ability to succeed with an online business. This site provides them with information on how to go about starting an online business, how to select a product, how to select a market, and how to promote their product. With a combination of training and creativity, the "newbie" should gain confidence in their ability to succeed in generating homebiz profits online in a reasonably short amount of time.

The second tier is addressed by the site www. businessgrowthsolutions. com. With experience starting an online home based business comes the know-how to directly or indirectly create a website. However, there is always a need to develop or acquire hot new products that can be brought to market quickly. Developing new products is expensive and time consuming. This site offers a large number of information products that come with private label rights. Most of the work has been done in creating the product, generating the graphics, and in writing the sales letter. A person that takes advantage of this site can have their own new products online within a matter of days and begin to see online profits shortly thereafter.

With step-by-step guidance in how to start a home based business and with products ready to sell, it is the desire of the management of M. A. Richards and Company LLC that these creative ways to make money at home will help individuals and families to meet the challenge of today's economy.

About M. A. Richards and Company, LLC:

Since its start in early 2004, M. A. Richards and Company, LLC has been developing and marketing products and services that can improve the success of small and home-based businesses and individuals looking to make online money now.

To Supplement or Not to Supplement?

To Supplement or Not to Supplement?

7 considerations before adding nutritional supplements to a diet

(PRWEB) March 27, 2004

In an ideal world, we would all eat well-balanced meals made from fresh, whole foods grown organically in mineral-rich soil. Our lives would be low stress, we'd exercise moderately four times a week, and we would never suffer injuries.

Very few people enjoy such lives Dr. Jessica Seaton, a Los Angeles chiropractor and chair of the United States Masters Swimming (USMS) Sports Medicine Committee pointed out.

"Vitamin and mineral supplements will not make up for a marginal or poor diet, nor will they get rid of stress or make you live until you're 90," said Seaton. "Some nutritional supplements may enhance the quality of your life, or help reduce your risk for some degenerative diseases, but it's important to look at what you're getting into before you start using supplements."

Here, Seaton presents three steps to informed supplementation.

1. Consider the placebo effect: Classic studies on the effectiveness of a drug or any other treatment have shown that if a group of people with a particular problem are given a "sugar pill" and are led to believe it will help their condition, about one-third of them will get well.

2. Ask who advocates a certain supplement: Is this person someone with a degree in nutrition (registered dietitian), a chiropractor (who has studied two semesters of biochemistry and three of nutrition), a naturopathic doctor (heavy emphasis on nutrition in schooling), a sales person in a health food store (questionable background, maybe self-taught), a medical doctor (maybe self-taught-nutrition is not a required subject in any medical school, although some schools offer it as an elective), or someone in the locker room?

3. Read the label: Are the ingredients listed with quantities such as mg, mcg, IU or comparable measurements? Or are they simply listed with no particular amounts? Do you or someone you trust know what all of the ingredients really are?

Given these words of caution, Seaton offers four reasons that most of us could benefit from some basic nutritional supplements:

1. Biochemical individuality: Vitamins and minerals are essentially micronutrients, Seaton said.

"The average American is not going to suffer from gross vitamin deficiencies. However, some people may be suffering from sub-clinical (or not easily detected) deficiencies." Seaton advised that deficiencies may manifest in lack of energy, poor recovery from workouts, easy bruising, or other signs.

2. Genetics: "Genetics are probably one of the most important determinants of one's health," Seaton said. However, many, if not most, diseases are multi-factorial in origin.

"For example, if your father had a heart attack at age 40, you (especially if you are male) have an increased risk of having the same thing happen to you, though lifestyle remains a factor."

Given a particular genetic background, you may be inclined to alter your diet somewhat and add some nutritional supplements.

3. What will nutritional supplements do for you now? "If you have an abundance of energy, no health problems and recover rapidly from exercise, chances are you won't notice a difference when you take supplements," Seaton said. "Your reason for taking them would be for the long-term effects."

On the other hand, those who do not feel well may take specific supplements and notice changes, such as an increase in energy, less pain and inflammation, fewer food cravings, better recovery from exercise, or other changes, depending on their original problems.

4. Why should you take nutritional supplements when you feel fine now? "You may take nutritional supplements as a form of insurance for later in life," Seaton pointed out. Fish oils and or flaxseed oils may not have a noticeable effect on your body now, but may protect you from cardiovascular disease later in life. Calcium, magnesium, and manganese supplementation now, along with weight-bearing exercise, may diminish the later effects of osteoporosis. A high-fiber diet's protective effect on your colon may stave off colon cancer.

Jessica Seaton, D. C., is a chiropractic orthopedist in private practice in West Los Angeles, Calif. She chairs the United States Masters Swimming (USMS) Sports Medicine Committee, and she has been swimming with the West Hollywood Aquatics Masters group for more than 10 years. Scribe Launches “Scribe Mobile” for Medical Dictation -- Scribe Mobile is the New Dictation App that Works on iPhone, iTouch, and iPad Devices

Scribe Launches “Scribe Mobile” for Medical Dictation -- Scribe Mobile is the New Dictation App that Works on iPhone, iTouch, and iPad Devices

Scribe Healthcare Technologies, Inc., announced the launch of its new mobile dictation app, Scribe Mobile. Scribe Mobile is initially available for the iPhone, iTouch, and iPad. Scribe Mobile is a leap ahead for those who prefer dictation via a mobile device.

Lake Forest, IL (Vocus) September 23, 2010

Scribe Healthcare Technologies, Inc., announced the launch of its new mobile dictation (http://www. scribe. com/dictsolutions. aspx) app, Scribe Mobile. Scribe Mobile is initially available for the iPhone, iTouch, and iPad. Scribe Mobile is a leap ahead for those who prefer dictation via a mobile device. Scribe Mobile offers dictators the ability to:

Dictate on the go  Transfer voice files via 3G or WIFI  View physician’s schedule  Specify file priority  Select template  Track pending dictations

Scribe Mobile (http://www. scribe. com/dictsolutions. aspx) is easy to use. Simply open the app, select the patient and dictate. Rewind, playback, fast-forward, and insert additional dictation are included. Files can be transferred immediately without tethering the device or queue them for transfer later. After transfer Scribe Mobile provides a unique dictation id for tracking. Voice files are stored on the device for one week by default.

“Almost 50% of our dictating physicians dictate with handheld recorders. They prefer the freedom of dictating without being tethered to a PC or telephone. Until now that freedom has come with a price, greatly reduced access to daily schedule and patient demographics. Recorders are also expensive, some costing over $500” says John Weiss, Scribe Vice President. “For those who use or prefer cellular coverage other than AT&T, Scribe Mobile will work on the iTouch, which can be purchased for just over $200. Given the low cost and numerous additional features of the iTouch, I can’t see why anyone would choose the older style recorders over an iTouch with Scribe Mobile.”

Scribe Mobile can be downloaded for free on iTunes (http://itunes. apple. com/WebObjects/MZStore. woa/wa/viewSoftware? id=391007459&cc=us&mt=8&ign-mscache=1&ign-mscache=1) and requires the user to have a Scribe account.

A realized and enlightened soul reveals the 'secret' in The Still Mind available for purchase and downloading 24/7/365 at www. dppstore. com.

Palm Springs, CA (PRWEB) May 24, 2007

DPPpress (www. dpppress. com) and DigitalPulp Publishing (www. digitalpulppublishing. com), an eBook publishing and distribution company, are pleased to offer the English translation of 'Thelindha Manam', from Tamil through their online store (www. dppstore. com).

New authors, independent publishers, and small presses are contracting with DPP daily, helping to create a bookstore that offers a wide array of literary offerings.

The Still Mind by V. Krishnamurthy (published 2006) is replete with thrilling and miraculous incidents that occurred in the author's life time which also emphasize the importance of some of the 'basic life values' that his personal experiences have forced on him.

The Still Mind explains that nature has gifted human beings with a conscious mind that has 'infinite' potential. In present day complex life we find our minds in turmoil with their own 'limitations' - according to each individual's way of thinking and living. The result: we are unable to fully exploit our mind's latent capabilities. There are ways to overcome this 'so called limitation' and it has been aptly demonstrated by wise men of yore - Sages and Saints. Even in present day, the same has been proved to be true by people who live a 'true spiritual life' with simple living and noble thinking.

In his book, V. Krishnamurthy reveals the 'hidden secret' to understand one's mind with its 'inherent limitation'. The author explains by way of his own spiritual experiences in life, the methods to enhance the mind potential so that readers can introspect and reshape their present mode of thinking and life style for achieving transformation that will guarantee success, prosperity, health and happiness in the days to come.

The DPPstore offers eBooks from first-time authors to well-established experts. There is definitely something for everyone. Olympus Announces U. S. Release of Progesterone Assay for Olympus AU3000i® Immunoassay System

Olympus Announces U. S. Release of Progesterone Assay for Olympus AU3000i® Immunoassay System

Olympus, a leader in the field of in vitro diagnostics, has introduced a progesterone immunoassay for sale in the U. S.

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (PRWEB) October 6, 2008

Progesterone along with Estradiol is one of the two major female sex hormones. Measurement of progesterone is commonly performed when evaluating patients during pregnancy or with patients with reproductive disorders. A patient's progesterone concentration can vary from day to day or even hour to hour; consequently, this test is ordered frequently to observe changes over time.

The Olympus AU3000i® progesterone assay is a paramagnetic particle chemiluminescent competitive immunoassay with a measuring range of approximately 0.10 - 55 ng/mL. It measures quantitative concentrations of progesterone in either 10 microliters of serum or lithium-heparin plasma samples after 28 minutes of processing time. The AU3000i system can automatically extend this range to measure samples with a progesterone concentration exceeding 55 ng/mL by diluting 20 microliters samples at a ratio of 1:10 using the onboard Olympus Sample Diluent 3. Each progesterone kit is sufficient to process 100 tests, and contains progesterone reagents, a single ready-to-use calibrator, and a single ready-to-use control. Reagents are stable on board the AU3000i system for 28 days.

"The addition of the progesterone assay to the already available Olympus fertility assays LH, FSH and Prolactin is an important step in the development of a panel of tests comprising from seven to ten percent of the test volume in a routine clinical laboratory," said Lorraine Damico, Director of Immunoassay Marketing for Olympus America Inc.

For additional information about Olympus assays visit www. olympusamerica. com/AU3000i/ (http://www. olympusamerica. com/AU3000i/), or contact Lorraine Damico at 1-484-896-5463, or via email at lorraine. damico@olympus. com.

About this test

The Olympus progesterone assay is a paramagnetic particle (DynaBeads®) chemiluminescent immunoassay for the in vitro quantitative measurement of progesterone in human serum or lithium-heparin plasma. It is traceable to USP material with progesterone values assigned by ID-GC/MS (Isotope dilution gas chromatography mass spectrometry). In conjunction with estrogen hormones, progesterone regulates the accessory organs during the menstrual cycle and the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy. Measurements of serum progesterone have also been used to check the effectiveness of ovulation induction, to monitor progesterone replacement therapy, and to detect and evaluate patients at risk of spontaneous abortion during the early weeks of pregnancy. They are not considered a suitable means for monitoring fetal wellbeing during the third trimester.

"We design products with exclusive functionalities that promote wellness and make people feel good, but of equal importance is producing chairs and massagers that have aesthetically pleasing designs," says Rich Jorgensen, CMO of Human Touch. "Having just attended the Consumer Electronics Show, where the focus was on our award-winning patented Human Touch Technology, we look forward to showcasing our entire line-up of massage chairs, each designed to fit into the everyday lifestyle of today's discriminating consumer."

The Human Touch showroom at the Las Vegas World Market Center will feature:

HT-7450 Zero-Gravity Massage Chair: The Human Touch HT-7450 Zero-Gravity massage chair is the world's first massage chair that incorporates the latest advances in both massage and back-care technology to counteract back and muscle pain caused by gravity's adverse effects. Once seated, the chair's back, seat and footrest synchronously recline to situate the body in a position that reduces the physical strain that is exerted on the body by gravity. The chair's patented Acupoint Detection System then scans the entire length of the back, creating a map of key pressure points to target during the massage. The patented Human Touch Massage System targets pressure points of the sciatic nerve with pulsating seat massagers that pinpoint "problem areas" and deliver a deep, invigorating massage.

In addition, the 2008 Housewares Design Awards finalist is made from premium-grade leather and includes a built-in adjustable foot and calf massager, dual-lumbar back heat, a neck-contoured comfort pillow and a memory foam seat cushion. The Human Touch HT-7450 retails for $3,999 and is available at Specialty Back Care Stores, Fine Furniture, Major U. S. Retailers and at humantouch. com.

HT-5320 Full-Body Massage Chair: The Human Touch HT-5320 Full-Body Massage Chair envelops the user in the most advanced massage system available that is typically found only in chairs twice the price. With Acupoint Detection sensors, an extendable vibrating foot and calf massager, stowable arm and thigh massage sleeves and a 3D remote control, this patented Robotic Massage System eases away tension and fatigue as it emulates the same techniques used by massage professionals. Similar to the HT-7450, the Acupoint Detection sensors automatically locate acupressure points and give the user the ability to target specific back zones and positions and melt away trouble spots with pinpoint precision. The Human Touch HT-5320 retails for $2,999 and is available at Specialty Back Care Stores, Fine Furniture, Major U. S. Retailers and at humantouch. com.

HT-1470 Back Massage Pad: Weighing only 11 pounds, the versatile Human Touch HT-1470 Back Massage Pad is the world's thinnest portable kneading and rolling massage robot that utilizes the most advanced patented massage system ever created to provide 25-percent greater back-area coverage than competing massage pads. The heated back pad easily transforms any sofa, home or office chair into a relaxing massage lounger. Once the built-in heating system prepares muscles for an optimal massage, the exclusive bi-level massage nodes generate fingertip and thumb pressure kneading and rolling motions designed to replicate expert massage therapist techniques. Users can personalize their experience with push-button simplicity that allows them to turn heat on or off, select a full back massage and target coverage to the middle and lower back. HT-1470 is a 2008 Housewares Design Awards finalist and retails for $249.99 at leading retailers across the country.

Additionally, the Human Touch showroom at World Market will showcase the HT-7120, which features leather upholstery and massage comfort numbers that adjust the massage level from gentle to intense without interrupting the massage session as well as the HT-2720, which has extended reach to relieve tight shoulders neck, ergonomic contour back, a panoramic swivel base and a stealth mounted pop-out cup holder. Report finds New Jersey Hospital a Major Contributor to Region's Economy

Report finds New Jersey Hospital a Major Contributor to Region's Economy

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital of New Brunswick, New Jersey, brings $900 million in economic activity to Central New Jersey that directly or indirectly supports 8,400 jobs, much larger than many private companies, according to an economic consulting firm.

(PRWEB) May 5, 2004

The study by New Jersey Economics and commissioned by the 567-bed hospital looks at how Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital fits into the economic health of the community in addition to its primary role as an academic medical center.

“People in New Jersey know that Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is committed to excellence in patient care, research and the education of medical professionals. Our role in the region’s economy, however, isn’t as well understood,” said hospital President and CEO Harvey A. Holzberg. “As the hospital has grown to meet the region’s health care needs, it has also emerged as an important part of the region’s economy.”

The report documents how in terms of creating jobs, buying goods and services, and the ripple effects of its operations, the hospital creates economic benefits for businesses, industries and households across the region.

The $900 million economic impact figure, which is based on 2002 data, includes $475 million in direct spending in the region through the hospitalÂ’s purchases and labor costs. These dollars then circulate through the regional economy in a secondary wave of spending worth an estimated $422 million, according to the report.

As for jobs, RWJUH employs more than 4,600 people, taking into account all full-time, part-time and per-diem workers, while another 3,760 people have jobs that are in some way dependent on the hospital, for a total of 8,400 jobs available in the region, the report states.

The dollars earned by RWJUH employees and those who have jobs dependent on the hospital amounted to $347 million in 2002, the report states. This figure includes the hospitalÂ’s $199 million payroll, and an additional $16.7 million spent on regional labor purchases, mostly agency nurses. It also includes an estimated $131.9 million earned by the 3,760 people whose jobs are in some way dependent upon the hospital.

“We’ve always realized that our hospital has a significant economic impact but this is the first time the impact has been documented.” Holzberg said. “It’s interesting to see how, in the process of carrying out our core mission of delivering the very best in medical care, we have also helped the region to grow.”

The report also outlines the institutionÂ’s history from its founding in 1885 to its current standing as the stateÂ’s premiere academic medical center, providing advanced services that New Jerseyans previously had to travel out of state to receive.

With expansions into transplants, cardiac care, cancer treatment, and its creation of a childrenÂ’s hospital, Robert Wood Johnson has become a destination hospital that now regularly serves patients from each of New JerseyÂ’s 21 counties and the surrounding states.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is the principal teaching hospital for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Together, the hospital and medical school are also developing the state’s only Pediatric Center of Excellence – a statewide center of medical care and research for children, including the most medically fragile infants.

The center already contains The Bristol-Myers Squibb ChildrenÂ’s Hospital, which was recently designated by the state as a Regional Perinatal Center, and The Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Under construction is The Child Health Institute of New Jersey, a biomedical research center being built by UMDNJ, and a Ronald McDonald House. Additionally, there are plans for ChildrenÂ’s Specialized Hospital to build the stateÂ’s largest, inpatient pediatric rehabilitation hospital on the campus.

Fresh ideas in Stress Management

Fresh ideas in Stress Management

(PRWEB) June 23, 2000

Unless you are some kind of "transcendental guru" sitting atop a hillside somewhere, it is likely that your life contains too much stress. Stress is not just "in your head" and although there are lifestyle and decision making factors which likely contribute to the problem, the rest of the iceberg is there, underneath the surface waiting to be faced and dealt with.

I will not bore you with statistics, figures, or management styles for it is not my intention to show you the top portion of the "iceberg of stress", but the unseen, the part which really matters.

Stress is not a naturally ubiquitous condition, there are many groups of people in the world who live virtually stress free lives, such as indigenous or aboriginal people. Sometimes, stress is a result of fear, which in nature can help us to survive. For instance, if a tiger is nipping at our heels, it will make us afraid and stressed, hopefully resulting in a change of behavior to remove our bodies from immediate danger.

Regardless of the "external" pressures which stress us, or the top 10% half of the iceberg, I am writing about the "internal" pressures which is the true stress causing culprit which can make life unbearable. Stress is often defined as "force, pressure, or strain", a condition which is generally abnormal in the human body. Stress could also be defined as "excessive workload".

The human body is designed to ingest nutrients and eliminate waste. It needs nutrients in order to function and it must constantly gather and eliminate waste in order to function efficiently. (imagine how difficult it would be to walk around in your kitchen after a month or two if you never took out the trash)

With this in mind, then, you can see that the more nutrients one consumes and the less waste one consumes or is exposed to, the easier it will be for their body to function. Easy = low stress.

If one eats a strawberry, it takes the digestive system a certain amount of energy to process that strawberry, and usually a net gain in energy and nutrients for the effort. However, if that same strawberry, is covered with pesticide, now the body not only has to digest the strawberry, but has to work hard to locate, separate (via a mucous quarantine), and eliminate the pesticide as well. Result: Stressed body and lower net gain of nutrition/energy from the strawberry.

Now, if you look at the preceding in a logical manner, it seems obvious that, at the very least, the more pesticides (or other non-desirable substances) that you eat, the harder your body must work to dispose of them. This extra work in turn uses up more of the available energy/nutrients. Thus, the more "non-desirables" you eat, the harder your body must work and the more you have to eat to survive and thus more undesirables to get rid of. Further, the harder your body has to work to eliminate poison, the more stressed it becomes, the more stressed it becomes, the more waste products the body itself creates. Can you see a horrible cycle starting to form here?

The net result of all the added work on your body is, quite simply, known as stress. This kind of stress is always lurking inside your body, slowing you down, impairing your mind, dulling your senses and causing even more stress. Is it any wonder that every so often, your body seems to have some kind of "mucous overload", runny nose, coughing, aching, etc...sometimes referred to as a "cold"?

If you think that there couldnÂ’t be that many harmful things in your current diet and environment, think again...from the formaldehyde in your carpet and couch, to paints, household cleaners and smog. From chlorine in your water to food coloring in your doughnuts, from synthetic vitamins to synthetic sweeteners. From chemicals to make food hard to chemicals to make food soft, from chemicals to give food shelf-life to chemicals to hide mold and rancidity...shall I continue?

In our industrialized society, these non desirable compounds are virtually impossible to avoid, period. However there are yet a myriad of things you can do to lessen your contact and allow your body to catch up on its workload. You might have to give up those blue colored Slurpees from 7-11 for awhile however!

It is essential for a person trying to lighten his internal stress load to realize that even many seemingly "healthy" foods like fruits and vegetables can be quite difficult to digest. Take apples for instance, as good as they may taste, they are virtually enzyme free due to genetic engineering. It takes enzymes to properly digest anything. The more enzymes a food has, the easier it is to digest. For anyone interested, a list was compiled by D. R.M. Johnathan Wolf which contains the most agreeable enzyme rich food commonly available.

Another important issue in the cause for internal stress relief is the B-vitamin complex. Perhaps a lot of people are aware of the importance of B vitamins and many take supplements accordingly. However, if you are taking synthetic vitamins, you are more likely adding to your bodyÂ’s stress level rather than helping as your whole body needs whole food, not some Frankenstein laboratory clone. This can be verified not so much impractically through scientific process, but more simply through your own body via foot testing. (similar to reflexology or applied kinesiology)

In addition, not many realize that B vitamins and potassium are a team and must be taken together or they wonÂ’t do much good for your body. Nutritional yeast flakes grown on molasses is an excellent source of B complex and potassium. For the greatest benefit, I recommend you take at least 15 drops twice a day of Potassium/B-Complex extracted from nutritional yeast flakes. By implementing these drops and making some of the dietary changes mentioned and avoiding foods and beverages containing chemical and synthetic additives, I guarantee you will feel your stress level drop!

Sedation Dentistry Innovator, DOCS Education, Marks 10th Anniversary Transforming Lives

Sedation Dentistry Innovator, DOCS Education, Marks 10th Anniversary Transforming Lives

Oral sedation dentistry, as taught by DOCS Education, has done more to enhance the lives of dental patients and their doctors in the past decade than any other dental protocol, technique, appliance or practice. DOCS Education is marking its 10th Anniversary this week.

Seattle, WA (Vocus) June 8, 2010

This week marks a decade since the founding of DOCS Education, the world’s leading educator of sedation dentists and oral health professionals.

Oral conscious sedation, as taught by DOCS Education, has become an immensely popular form of treatment for people who were previously squeamish about visiting their dentists. More than 2 million once fearful and anxious patients have been safely and effectively helped by DOCS Education-trained oral health professionals.

Rather than avoiding the dentist altogether or approaching each dental visit as if it were a trip to a torture chamber, sedation dentistry patients are completely relaxed and comfortable throughout their dental visit.

DOCS Education-trained dentists are able to alleviate their patients’ searing oral pain; prevent tooth and bone loss; heal infectious oral cavities; and rebuild bright and full smiles – all using a safe, soothing and anxiety-free process. For many patients, the results positively transform the quality of their lives.

When DOCS Education was founded in June 2000, the use of oral sedation to comfort anxious dental patients was novel. Since then, more than 20,000 dentists and their dedicated oral health teams have completed DOCS Education courses.

Oral conscious sedation is now part of mainstream dentistry.

“Oral sedation dentistry, I believe, has done more to enhance the lives of dental patients and their doctors in the past decade than any other dental protocol, technique, appliance or practice,” says Dr. Michael Silverman, co-founder of DOCS Education.

Beyond tending to their patients’ oral health, sedation dentists have discovered the many benefits DOCS Education training brings to their own lives and practices.

“Like the very best gifts, what we’ve imparted to our patients has given back to us,” observes Dr. Silverman. “More than anything else, professional graduates of our various continuing education classes thank me for restoring the satisfaction to their work – for allowing them to treat patients safely and efficiently without having to suffer along with their patients’ emotional and physical pain.”

DOCS Education will celebrate its 10th Anniversary at a black-tie gala to be held this week at Seattle’s iconic Columbia Tower Club, located 76 stories above the sprawling city and Puget Sound. Graduates of DOCS Education courses from around the country will join with founders, faculty, family and friends to honor their accomplishments and look to the decade ahead.

“When I co-founded DOCS Education a decade ago, I set out to educate what I thought would be a comparatively tiny group of other general dentists,” Dr. Silverman recalls. “What time has demonstrated, however, is that there are no limits to the appreciation of patients and dental professionals alike for innovations that markedly improve their lives.”

Dentists who would like any additional information on sedation dentistry and training courses, are invited to phone (877) 325-3627 or visit the professionals’ website at http://www. DOCSeducation. com.

Consumers with questions about fear-free, anxiety-free sedation dentistry should call (888) 858-7972 or visit the patients’ website at http://www. SedationCare. com.
