Stronger, Safer Relationships and Healthy Self-Esteem – An Ebook for the Post-Modern Female

She’s Worth the Chase! Ten Qualities Gamma Males Adore in the Females They Pursue And Marry specifies the differences between the 3 types of males, outlines biological and emotional differences between males and females, examines what effects the Feminist movement and Sexual Revolution have had on relationships, and gives specific strategies for building self-esteem and choosing quality males.

Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) February 13, 2010

An ebook on building healthy self-esteem, and safer and stronger relationships, by Therapist and Life Coach, Kongit Farrell, SHE’S Worth the Chase! Ten Qualities Gamma Males Adore in the Females They Pursue And Marry, is being released via the web on 14 February 2010.

Statistics show that domestic violence, psychological and physical problems resulting from stressful relationships and children being raised by single mothers are all increasing in the United States. Part of the problem stems from females making poor selections in the males they have relationships with. Building good self-esteem and creating strong relationships/marriages will result in the increased safety of women and children and a stronger, healthier society.

Farrell, daughter of one of the first African American politicians in LA, Bob Farrell, says that her motivation for writing this ebook, and the companion book He’s Worth the Time, came out of a sense of deep frustration about the current state of interpersonal/romantic relationships between males and females.

“As a therapist,” says Farrell, who worked for the Clinton Administration in the Communication Office, “I see client after client with the same complaint: neither sex is content with the selection of the opposite sex to choose from for mates. I think that the problem is largely due to a misunderstanding of how males and females differ on the biological level, and how that difference affects everything from communication style to thought processes, and perceptions of reality.”

She goes on to say, “She's Worth the Chase will give women a better understanding of themselves and of males on a biological, social, and individual level. It includes insights on how they can improve their chances of selecting and sustaining a great mate and relationship".

She’s Worth the Chase! Ten Qualities Gamma Males Adore in the Females They Pursue And Marry outlines biological and emotional differences between males and females, what effects the Feminist movement and Sexual Revolution have had on relationships, and gives specific strategies for building self-esteem and choosing quality males.

Kongit Farrell, B. S., M. A., is a therapist, strategic life and relationship coach, mental health consultant, writer and business owner. After working in the Communication Office for the Clinton Administration she was appointed Commissioner for the Department of Public Social Services. Here she advised Los Angeles County Supervisors on issues of policy regarding welfare and other social programs that serve marginalized populations. She has published numerous articles on mental health and is a proponent of researching and conducting therapy from a gender-integrated systemic framework for male/female relationships.

AP9 24ProtectPlus Gives Members Helpful Tips on Buying Used Cars

AP9 24ProtectPlus Gives Members Helpful Tips on Buying Used Cars

AP9 24 Protect Plus shouts out to used car buyers: "Time to do some homework!"

Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) January 11, 2007

There's an age-old saying, "Let the buyer beware." Often, this warning applies to the purchase of cars -- especially used ones. But thanks to AP9 24 Protect Plus (http://www.24protectplus-program. com/), a premier security program offered by Adaptive Marketing LLC, members can get valuable tips and suggestions for saving money on used car purchases.

AP9 24 Protect Plus understands that there are a lot of factors to consider when buying a used car -- whether to buy from a dealer or a private owner; figuring out what make and model best fits a given driving style and budget; and, of course, the asking price. With all those things in mind, AP9 24ProtectPlus (http://www.24protectplus-program. com/) offers the following tips to make buying a used car a little easier -- and ultimately a better investment in the long run:

-- Do some homework, and shop around. Start by reading the classified section of the newspaper, magazines for car enthusiasts (e. g., Car Mechanics Magazine) and monthly publications such as the local Penny Saver. Also, use an Internet search engine, and type in the keywords "used car." Search results should include detailed instructions for conducting a pre-purchase inspection, ads for cars available for sale and other useful information.

-- Examine the car personally, and use an inspection checklist. Here's where all that research comes in handy. Many car magazines include easy-to-follow checklists, and the Internet is loaded with a variety of car evaluation checklists.

-- Test-drive the car in different weather conditions. Depending on where you live, test-drive the car in rain, snow and both cold and hot temperature extremes. Also, test it on highways, local roads and in stop-and-go traffic.

-- Talk to the previous owner. Make sure you know the car's history. Remember that what's commonly known as "curb appeal" (how the car looks) doesn't always tell the whole story.

-- Hire a mechanic to give the car a clean bill of health. All that homework won't mean anything if a professional doesn't check the car out before the buy. Have a certified mechanic test the car, check the battery and inspect other key parts and features.

AP9 24ProtectPlus is standing by at 24ProtectPlus123.com to give all its members useful tricks and tips on a variety of consumer matters. The chance to get in on the details depends on two things: a strong desire to save money on important purchases and lifestyle needs, and the curiosity to learn more. The rest of the details will be taken care of by AP9 24 Protect Plus.

Recall Corporation Announces Document Management Industry's First RFID-Enabled Service

Recall Corporation Announces Document Management Industry's First RFID-Enabled Service

Boston-Area Facility Chosen for Launch of Full-Cycle Document Management Service Utilizing Radio Frequency Tagging

Boston, Mass. (PRWEB) February 21, 2007

Recall Corporation, the document lifecycle management company, has launched the industry's first full-cycle storage and management service and facility to utilize radio frequency identification (RFID) technology for identification, inventory, and tracking of customers' document and electronic data archives. Deployed at the company's Document Management Solutions Mega-Center in Northborough, Mass., RFID tagging adds a new layer of security and management efficiency to Recall's pace-setting marks for service.

By equipping document archival cartons with passive RFID tags, and the use of specially designed RFID equipment deployed throughout the facility, Recall information centers provide enhanced 100 percent annual inventory and audit reporting for their customers. No longer constrained by costly, time-consuming physical audits that involve locating and moving each carton, RFID represents a quantum leap in inventory audit processes, allowing Recall to achieve Perfect Execution on behalf of its customers. That means document archives are where they are supposed to be at all times, able to be retrieved quickly when needed, and promptly destroyed in accordance with regulation and company policy.

Chosen because of the vitality of the Boston area's legal, medical, and financial services industries, and because of the stringent regulatory demands placed on those industries, RFID tagging supports strict compliance with data management regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) and more.

"The number of information-sensitive companies operating in the Boston area, coupled with the region's tradition of technical innovation, made this the ideal place to begin the roll-out of our RFID-enabled service offering," said Russell Skinner, VP Global Integration, Recall Corp. "Our pilot program demonstrated to us the potential for RFID technology to transform our industry, and the response from our blue-ribbon client roster has been overwhelming.

"And while our results to date have me wishing we'd taken this step earlier, we're still way ahead of the rest of our industry," Skinner continued.

Among the first organizations participating in Recall's RFID program are a major law firm, a national construction firm, a regional energy company, and a large financial institution -- which has already contracted with Recall to RFID tag its entire future inventory.

Recall Corporation provides complete lifecycle management services to more than 75,000 customers from 250 information centers on five continents. For more information visit Recall Corp. (http://www. recall. com).

Baltimore VA Medical Center Participates in a Multicenter Clinical Trial Measuring Blood Volume in Cardiac Patients

Baltimore VA Medical Center Participates in a Multicenter Clinical Trial Measuring Blood Volume in Cardiac Patients

Led by Stephen Gottlieb, MD, co-director of the Heart Failure Clinic at the VA Maryland Health Care System and professor of medicine at the Universityof Maryland School of Medicine, the Baltimore VA Medical Center will be participating in a six-month, multi-center clinical trial to determine if using blood volume measurements in addition to standards of care will decrease the number of re-hospitalizations of cardiac patients post discharge after a heart attack.

Baltimore, MD (Vocus) September 21, 2010

Led by Stephen Gottlieb, MD, co-director of the Heart Failure Clinic at the VA Maryland Health Care System and professor of medicine at the Universityof Maryland School of Medicine (http://medschool. umaryland. edu/), the Baltimore VA Medical Center (http://www. maryland. va. gov/) will be participating in a six-month, multi-center clinical trial to determine if using blood volume measurements in addition to standards of care will decrease the number of re-hospitalizations of cardiac patients post discharge after a heart attack. The study’s other objective is to determine if measuring blood volume and adjusting treatment accordingly will enable patients to improve exercise capacity and quality of life.

“This is an important study, considering the number one Medicare diagnosis is cardiac disease,” says Gottlieb, the local principal investigator. “In cardiac patients, fluid is always a concern. Cardiac disease affects a good number of Veterans, and we are testing whether monitoring the blood volumes of cardiac patients and then correcting abnormalities can improve outcomes and lead to decreased hospitalizations and an improved quality of life. It could also potentially reduce the financial burden of heart disease.”

Joining Gottlieb on the study is Shawn W. Robinson, MD, co-director of the Baltimore VA's Heart Failure Clinic and assistant professor of Medicine and Physiology at the University of Maryland's School of Medicine. "An essential part of our clinical assessment for our patients with heart disease is identifying excess blood volume, which contributes to patients feeling short of breath. The blood analyzer may give us useful information we can use to improve our patient's quality of life" Robinson said.

The study, a follow-up to a 2004 observational trial from the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, will enroll about 300 heart failure patients discharged with a primary diagnosis of acute decompensated heart failure. To measure blood volume, the study is using a device known as the Blood Volume Analyzer-100 (BVA-100), manufactured by Daxor Corporation, a New York-based medical instrumentation and biotechnology company. Daxor will provide the Baltimore VA Medical Center with the BVA-100, an instrument that enables semi-automated measurements of a patient’s total blood volume, red blood cell volume and plasma volume. “If the machine picks up abnormalities, treatment will then be adjusted,” said Gottlieb, adding that measuring the blood is a non-invasive procedure.

The Baltimore VA Medical Center’s Heart Failure Clinic treats more than 200 patients annually. “Having this type of program at the VA Maryland Health Care System will be a bonus for our patients with heart disease if only because of the extra attention they will receive, but also for the potential benefit the blood analyzer information can bring to their medical care,” Robinson said.

The VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) provides a broad spectrum of medical, surgical, rehabilitative, mental health and outpatient care to veterans at two medical centers, one community living & rehabilitation center and five outpatient clinics located throughout the state. More than 52,000 veterans from various generations receive care from the VAHMCS annually. Nationally recognized for its state-of-the-art technology and quality patient care, the VAHMCS is proud of its reputation as a leader in veterans’ health care, research and education. It costs nothing for Veterans to enroll for health care with the VA Maryland Health Care System and it could be one of the more important things a Veteran can do. For information about VA health care eligibility and enrollment or how to apply for a VA medical care hardship to avoid future copayments for VA health care, interested Veterans are urged to call the Enrollment Center for the VA Maryland Health Care System, Monday through Friday, from 8 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. at 1-800-463-6295, ext. 7324 or visit www. maryland. va. gov.

A former victim of crime finds healing in empowering others. By launching a web site dedicated to finding employment, college scholarships and building small businesses this entreprenuer finds success in helping others

A former victim of crime finds healing in empowering others. By launching a web site dedicated to finding employment, college scholarships and building small businesses this entreprenuer finds success in helping others.

After working for years in an industry that regarded his handicap as a weakness Richard built his dream into a reality by creating a web site that caters to people who are looking to increase their income by getting a degree, finding a job or operating a small business.

(PRWEB) July 1, 2004

A horrific anniversary is cause for a extraordinary celebration.

July 1, 1989 two bullets ripped through the flesh of a young ambitious choreographer with dreams of one day staring in his own music videos he attended the Art Institute of Atlanta in the day time and worked at Atlanta’s finest hotel as an assistant chef at night. One night he was approached by a group of men who was determined to rob him but instead shot him multiple times and left him laying in the streets to die. “I felt my soul leaving my body and I saw myself laying on the ground.” People began to gather.

Since that fateful evening Richard has been confined to a wheelchair and struggling with living with a disability that he was told may last a lifetime.

As a young father and a newly injured paraplegic Richard faced a whole new life that he never before imagined, life in a wheelchair. Was there a chance for a normal life? How do you provide for a family of 4 living on Social Security checks? At 25 years old retirement was coming too early for this ex-infantryman and his determination would bring him to the next level of ambition that even he could not imagine. “Like most people I never really thought about how difficult it was to be disabled in an able bodied world”. It took years to recover from my fear, pain and confusion of prejudice, rejection and indifference that being disabled caused.

My first step to recovery was to forgive the gunman that shot me. Although he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempted murder, I still harbored the hurt from not being able to run, walk, or dance the way I used to. Every year after I suffered this rude awakening I began to search for the reasons why I survived this terrible ordeal. But life was not giving me time to wait, there were astronomical medical bills, health issues and fear or the unknown that seemed to grip my very existence.

After years of painful physical rehabilitation, homelessness and extreme poverty seeking a career was the last thing that I ever thought of. But as I learned through my faith that my life was spared for a purpose and I began to realize through reaching out to others in pain and desperation I found strength and internal healing. I returned to school, studied computer engineering and software programming, yet because of my wavering health and financial burdens I was not able to reach the educational level that I set out to pursue.

“ I returned to work and found that there was a prejudice against my handicap that I never imagined in the workplace and in my social life. It seemed like no one really wanted to give me a chance to work in my chosen field. I was either given the run around, told I the position had suddenly been filled or offered a position paying less. So what was I to do? My first reaction was to give up and give in to my feelings of hopelessness and helplessness. Then I though back about that fateful night, if I give up then the gunman won and my life was spared for nothing. With that thought I summoned the courage to face a world that was not very kind or understanding of my physical plight. My need to make a difference in my life and the life of others became overwhelming. I learned to use all of my anger, pain and frustration to develop my mind into a creative outlet.”

15 years later Richard has wrestled with the odds to develop his own desktop publishing business using the knowledge, experience and ambition that has never really eluded him. “Life has been more than difficult, it has been an uphill battle and I am still climbing. I chose to name my business Diversified Desktop Publishing to define the vast resources that my business provides. There are three main services that my business offers individual customers and small businesses.”

PCS—Professional Career Services— Is the division of Diversified that writes resumes and cover letters and assists people in finding and obtaining stable employment quickly.

Web Development— Is the section where I write, develop and create the ultimate Web site for individuals and small businesses.

PRINCE GEORGEÂ’S FOR DEAN MEETUP ON AUGUST 6TH 2003

PRINCE GEORGEÂ’S FOR DEAN MEETUP ON AUGUST 6TH 2003

P. G. Grassroots Organizers Answer Questions and Welcome Volunteers at Greenbelt’s New Deal Café

(PRWEB) July 22, 2003

GREENBELT, MD (PRWEB) July 19, 2003 – Prince George’s for Dean invites interested P. G. County residents to get involved in the election of the next President of the United States. Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean, M. D., is one of the front-running Democratic candidates for the presidency in 2004. Coordinators of the grassroots movement to elect Governor Dean will be available to answer questions and welcome volunteers on Wednesday, August 6th, at 7 p. m. at the New Deal Café, 113 Centerway (across from the P&G Old Greenbelt Theater) in Greenbelt, Maryland. Coordinators will screen a video featuring Governor Dean, distribute Dean literature and explain the current committees in which volunteers can get involved.

Howard Dean’s run for the presidency is unique because it draws its power directly from the people – through the Internet. The Dean campaign’s own website, www. deanforamerica. com, along with Meetup. com and many associated weblogs, has revolutionized the way people become involved in political campaigns. Scores of Prince George’s residents are expected for this month’s Prince George’s Meetup. Almost 64,000 Americans in over 560 cities and towns have signed up for Meetups nationwide, forming the largest grassroots organization in support of any 2004 presidential candidate. This surge of support is only partly due to the power of the Internet; it is primarily a testament to Governor Dean.

To learn more about Dr. Howard Dean’s “prescription for change” – his views on American foreign policy, civil rights, health care, education, and fiscal responsibility – join the Prince George’s for Dean movement. Prince George’s for Dean has representatives at Meetups on the first Wednesday evening of each month. Join us, and help take back our country!

About Howard Dean

A commonsense moderate, Governor Dean firmly believes that social justice can be accomplished only through strong financial management. In 11 years as governor of Vermont, he cut the income tax and reduced the state's long-term debt. He paid off an inherited $70 million deficit and worked with lawmakers to build "rainy day" reserves to help the state through any future economic downturns. In addition, more than 41,000 new jobs were created, the state's minimum wage was increased, incentive programs were expanded to help downtowns attract new businesses, and tax incentives were created to attract and keep new companies.

With strong financial management, Governor Dean was able to accomplish many of his social goals. A passionate healthcare advocate, he strengthened a program to guarantee health coverage to nearly every child and most adults in Vermont and expanded programs to help seniors afford prescription drugs. He also signed into law one of the toughest managed-care patient protections in the United States. For a healthy environment, Governor Dean worked with local communities and the federal government to preserve more than one million acres of farmland, shorefront, working forests, and wilderness for generations to come. Fat People's Health Advocates Demand Inclusion in Policy Making

Fat People's Health Advocates Demand Inclusion in Policy Making

"Nothing About Us Without Us," says the Association for Size Diversity & Health in demanding that the voices of fat people and their advocates be heard in the national conversation about "obesity intervention and prevention" policies.

Redwood City, CA (PRWEB) May 11, 2010

Redwood City, CA -- The voices of fat people and the organizations advocating for their rights and health--at every size--must be included in the national conversation about "obesity" intervention or prevention policies, the Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH) demands.

Programs such as First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign, efforts to establish “National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month” in September, and legislation to establish BMI as a health “vital sign,” continue to move forward without any meaningful input from fat children or adults, who must every day confront being marginalized in educational, economic, civil, cultural, political, social, and medical arenas.

"It is imperative that we include fat people in the decisions that directly impact their quality of life and access to essential services,” ASDAH President Deb Lemire says.

It is time to replace the medical model of obesity with a human rights model, and ensure that discriminatory social and cultural norms not be institutionalized by law.”

“It is imperative that we end the exclusion of fat people from the decisions that directly impact their quality of life and access to essential services,” ASDAH President Deb Lemire says. “It is time to replace the ‘medical model’ of obesity with a human rights model and work to ensure that discriminatory social and cultural norms are not institutionalized by law.”

"No policies should be decided without the full involvement of members of the groups directly affected by such policies," Lemire adds.

"Have legislators considered asking fat children how they will feel returning to school in September during “Childhood Obesity Awareness” month?" Lemire asks. "Has the issue of bullying caused by stigmatizing children with larger bodies even been discussed?" "Recent studies - to be published in the June 2010 issue of Pediatrics - document that fat children are now 63% more likely to be subject to bullying because of their body size than are children perceived to be of 'normal' weight.

ASDAH supports Surgeon General Regina Benjamin in her charge to "change the national conversation from a negative one that focuses on disease to a positive conversation about being healthy and fit."

Further, Lemire and the ASDAH leadership ask if policy makers really want to throw money into ineffective weight-focused programs when they could invest in the economically sound and evidence-based programs of Health At Every Size.

ASDAH is an international organization comprised of health professionals, scientists and activists committed to promoting all aspects of health and well being for all populations. Its guiding principles of Health At Every Size" recognize and promote the multi-dimensionality of health, including enjoyable and balanced eating and movement, without a weight-loss focus.

New Website Helps Baby Boomers Seeking to Retire on Fixed Income

New Website Helps Baby Boomers Seeking to Retire on Fixed Income

Pacifica Endeavors LLC, announced today that the company has launched BabyBoomerLifeboat. com, a new Website to help Baby Boomers who are seeking to retire on a fixed or limited income. The site contains an abundance of tips, information and screened links which address the most common questions these Boomers may have. Any Boomer approaching retirement can benefit from the new site found at www. BabyBoomerLifeboat. com.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 23, 2008

Al Kernek, owner and principal consultant for Pacifica Endeavors LLC, announced today that the company has launched a new Website, Baby Boomer Lifeboat (www. BabyBoomerLifeboat. com), to help Baby Boomers who are seeking to retire on a fixed or limited income. The site contains an abundance of tips, information and screened links which address the most common questions these Boomers may have.

"Recent studies indicate that as many as two-thirds of the Baby Boomer generation are not financially prepared to maintain their current lifestyle during retirement," Kernek states. "The struggling economy, along with the recent evaporation of home equity, has created the perfect financial storm for Boomers coming up on retirement. Plus, most Boomers have only a small amount of savings in 401K's or other investments. Unless they have a good-sized inheritance or golden pension plan, it is going to be tough for these Boomers to retire without changing their lifestyle. That is why we created this site, because we are Boomers ourselves and have the same questions most Boomers approaching retirement are likely to have."

The BabyBoomerLifeboat. com Website is structured to provide answers to common questions that Baby Boomers with limited financial resources have about their ability to retire. These include subjects like Social Security benefits, inexpensive travel, shopping health insurance, relocating to less expensive areas, low-cost housing solutions, working part-time and generally stretching their dollars to achieve a comfortable retirement regardless of what income they have to live on.

"We built the Website as a public service resource for the Baby Boomer generation. It is an excellent place to begin when seeking answers to the difficult retirement issues most Baby Boomers face," adds Kernek. "In addition to advice and the results of our research, the Website presents links to other screened sites that contain valuable information and resources for Baby Boomers."

The bottom line," Kernek notes, "is that Baby Boomers can retire regardless of their financial status if they are willing to make changes in their lives to get more value from whatever retirement income on which they must live. BabyBoomerLifeboat. com will help them to develop a retirement plan that fits each Boomer's unique circumstances."

Lessons of Life From a Mental Health Case Worker

Lessons of Life From a Mental Health Case Worker

Author Cindy Tuttle has spent much of her adult life caring for the mentally ill, so she's learned a thing or two about helping people through a rough patch. With her new book, vFinding the Light of Jesus (Nov. 1st, CrossLink Publishing), Tuttle offers a no-nonsense manual to finding peace in today's stressful world.

Carmichael, CA (PRWEB) September 13, 2010

“We aren’t perfect and never will be. We all have weaknesses. Does that make us any less loved by Jesus?” Tuttle writes.
Stress and loneliness affect millions of people. According to an American Psychological Association study, 54% of Americans are concerned about the level of stress in their lives. Tuttle offers support and encouragement to those coping with anxiety, fear, and unhappiness.
“Many goals focus on making money and buying things. But does that make us happy? It might for a moment, yet what about our inner most happiness?”
For one example of stress relief, Tuttle relates to readers the value of journaling, a practice which helps mental focus and spiritual awareness.
“Sometimes at the day’s end I write down what I did and am amazed at what I was able to accomplish with Jesus’ help,” she writes. “Journaling helps me focus on Jesus and prayer. When you reflect on your day, you also might be surprised to discover how you helped people in your family, at work, or community. It’s very satisfying to look back on the day and see all the things you accomplished.”
Tuttle also highlights the ways in which even the most seemingly-insignificant tasks might help spread the love of Christ.
“No matter what you do, you can make it a ministry. Every time you offer a smile or greet a customer or fellow employee with respect, you are showing the light of Jesus. Every time you forgive someone who made a mistake, you are ministering to others. I think we have misguided understanding of ministry.”
The call for forgiveness also extends to the reader, Tuttle says, referring to the redeeming, transforming power of the Cross.
“No matter how we have messed up, Jesus is there with a new beginning. When our dreams vanish, Jesus opens a door to a dream better than we could have imagined.”
Finding the Light of Jesus is already receiving advance praise as a resource for those searching for peace and contentment.
“Cindy Tuttle’s professional background is stress counseling in impressive. Drawing on this background, the author presents a truly readable, no - nonsense manual of operation for capturing peace in every adult's stressful world. What sets this guideline apart is an unique age-tested device - the recognition of the presence of an unparalleled love (and available for the taking) in each one of us.” - Bishop Francis A. Quinn, Bishop Emeritus of Sacramento California
“As a Christian, I consider this work to be one of the more important lay ministry resources published in recent years. It calls for honest reflection as individuals that is easily transferred to discussions in group settings. Finding the Light of Jesus is perfect for prayer groups, missionary services and youth ministries. Cindy Tuttle addresses current issues as they relate to our personal emotions, and offers an easy to follow guide for finding our path through the Light of Jesus. The book is filled with prayers, discussions, reflections and relevant guidance. You will find yourself referring back to this wonderful book time and again.” - Patti Walden, Associated Content

Oprah Expert Discovers Breakthrough Sinus & Headache Remedy

Oprah Expert Discovers Breakthrough Sinus & Headache Remedy

An upstate New York man credits Oprah Winfrey with helping him find a cure for chronic sinus headaches. After appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show, Wayne Perry accidentally discovered an all natural remedy to combat his terrible allergy and headache symptoms.

Albany, NY (PRWEB) March 2, 2004

During the mid 1990s, Wayne Perry was a nationally recognized self defense expert who was a frequent guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Part of Wayne’s “claim to fame” was his willingness to be sprayed with real self defense pepper sprays for television demonstrations to promote the use of non-lethal weapons. Wayne actually taught Oprah Winfrey how to use pepper spray on her show.

Perry had suffered from chronic headaches and sinus allergies for nearly twenty years, and as his self defense career began taking off, his headaches began getting worse. By the time Wayne made his last appearance on Oprah, his headaches were coming nearly 5 days a week.

“I was in Chicago for an Oprah appearance, and I flew in the night before. They tape several shows a day, and we were scheduled for the first taping. So I had a 6:30 AM pick-up outside the hotel the next morning. Wouldn’t you know – I started getting cluster headache attacks all that night, and I literally didn’t get any sleep. Here I had to go on one of the biggest tv shows in the world with no sleep. All because of those damned headaches. So anyway, during the show I had to teach Oprah how to use a self defense pepper spray. Even though I was feeling totally crappy, the show went great. I got tons of calls from tv shows wanting me to do spray demonstrations because they saw that Oprah thing. My career really took off, but my headaches were getting worse and so was my constant sinus congestion. Traveling was unbearable,” says Perry.

Wayne had been to various doctors, and he was on lots of medications including Imitrex and Sansert. Between the drugs and self described "disgusting" salt water nasal douches, Perry found only partial relief for his chronic condition which was then diagnosed as cluster headaches with allergies. By 1995, PerryÂ’s condition began to severely effect his self defense career.

“I knew I had to find a cure for my headaches because they were ruining my life. I was traveling all over the country performing for audiences and doing lots of tv and radio thanks to my Oprah appearances. In fact, I was even working for the mace company promoting their line of self defense pepper sprays, and I was making great money, but the traveling was killing me. Every time I got on an airplane, I’d end up with a cluster headache, and I had one sided nasal congestion that I knew was connected to the headaches. I could only breathe out of one side of my nose, and now my headaches weren’t just coming at night……they were hitting me during the day when I had to work. I kept searching for answers from doctors, but the answer just wasn't there,” Perry explains.

Then an incredible thing happened – the kind of “dumb luck” that usually only happens in the movies. Thanks to his appearance with the pepper sprays on Oprah, Perry was asked to do a "live" spray demonstraton for a local television news program in Albany, New York. It was during that demonstration that Perry discovered the cure for his headaches completely by accident. Even more incredible was the fact that this medical breakthrough had been under his nose the entire time.

Perry had agreed to be sprayed by real self defense pepper spray for the evening newscast, but only minutes before he was to perform the “live” demonstration outside the studio, Wayne got one of his terrible cluster headaches. Similar to a migraine, Perry’s cluster headaches would send him collapsing on the floor in horrific pain.

With only seconds remaining before the demonstration, Wayne was determined to go on with the show. So as agreed, he let the reporter spray him with the police style pepper spray. The effects were of course devastating, but the 30 something self defense instructor knew exactly what to expect.

Wayne had been sprayed with the real stuff many times before for demonstration purposes, but this was the first time he had been sprayed while having a headache. As expected, when the spray hit him in the face, Perry doubled over from the intense pepper cloud, but this time he felt something he had never felt before. The pepper made his headache disappear instantly.

“I was shocked. Here I couldn't even open my eyes, and I'm trying to fight the effects of the spray….my face is burning like hell, and yet I realized I felt better than I had in weeks. My headache was gone. After about 20 minutes of flushing my face with cold water, I knew my headache wasn’t coming back and I could breathe normally for the first time in about a month. From being sprayed before, I knew the pepper always opened up your sinuses, but I had never been hit during a sinus attack so I didn’t understand the potential until that day. I knew the secret was in the active ingredient of the pepper spray. Simple hot pepper extract….totally all natural stuff. After that I was hell bent on finding a way to formulate this hot pepper extract in a way that people could tolerate, and it took a few years, but I did it,” Perry boasts.

According to all the press he’s been getting, Wayne Perry certainly did do it. After consulting with many doctors, and researching clinical trials using pepper extract, Perry came up with the world's first all natural nasal spray made with hot pepper extract. It’s called “The Sinus Buster”, and it’s fast becoming the most popular sinus, headache, and allergy reliever ever invented. After selling his spray locally for a couple years, Perry hooked up with SiCap Industries, a manufacturer that specializes in pepper based natural health supplements.

The active ingredient in hot pepper extract is Capsaicin, the natural chemical that puts the “Hot” in the peppers. Perry’s secret formula combines two special varieties of hot peppers creating an extract that contains unique properties.

“I spent several years combining different pepper extracts together to find the combination that works best. Even though all pepper extract is in the form of Oleoresin Capsicum, each has its’ own heat factor and other capsicanoids based on the plant variety it comes from. I found that by combining two specific varieties of resins, my formula was able to relieve a whole host of sinus and headache symptoms using an extremely low dose of capsaicin. I also found that by mixing under certain controlled temperature conditions, I was able produce a formula that not only relieves symptoms, but actually soothes and moistens the nasal passages at the same time. This is the most powerful, and yet the most safe nasal spray ever,” Perry exclaims.

Since launching his Sinus Buster with the backing of SiCap, Perry’s unique hot pepper nasal spray is now selling all over the world. There are even websites in Dutch and German. Moreover, there are hundreds of doctors, journalists, and customers who swear the Sinus Buster is the “real deal”.

Recently, an article in The Detroit News sparked hundreds of Michigan residents scrambling for the Sinus Buster, and the press attention has barely just begun. In fact during the next two months, The Sinus Buster will appear in The Saturday Evening Post, Ms. Fitness Magazine, on NBC News, and in several magazines in Europe.

“We get hundreds of emails and calls every week from people who say this spray has changed their lives. There are 70 million chronic sinus & allergy sufferers in the U. S. alone, and these people are on all kinds of medicines – prescription and OTC, but most of them still can’t find any real relief. Besides, the headache medicines cause rebound effects, and the nasal steroid sprays cause nosebleeds and liver damage. We have the first all natural nasal spray that can be used as needed without any side effects whatsoever. The sinus buster will stop a headache in seconds, and it blocks allergy triggers like a champ. It’s incredible stuff, and we were lucky to join forces with Wayne. This is a one of a kind product that will soon be a household name, and to think this medical miracle was discovered by accident,” says Bob Haines, Director of Marketing for SiCap Industries.

Haines also claims SiCap engineers are working on several “spin off “ products using Perry’s special hot pepper extract. The company says they’re about to release the first liquid capsaicin supplement designed to promote circulatory blood flow, and prevent blood clots that can lead to stroke and heart disease.

“The way this product is working for people, we expect to become the biggest natural pharmaceutical company in the world. We also plan on launching both mild and extra strength versions of the sinus buster, and we’ve already started taking orders for the coming allergy season from customers who don’t want to run out of their sinus buster. Before you know it, Wayne will be back on Oprah, but this time he won’t be talking self defense, he’ll be talking about the sinus buster,” says Rob Sasso, Director of Media for SiCap Industries.

To learn more about the worldÂ’s first hot pepper nasal spray, The Sinus Buster, go to (www. sinusbuster. com). There are also links to clinical trials using capsaicin, and testimonials from Sinus Buster users whoÂ’ve witnessed incredible results using intranasal capsaicin to fight chronic sinusitis, rhinitis, allergy, and headache symptoms. Samples and information packets are also available for "verified" media representatives and medical professionals interested in evaluating The Sinus Buster capsaicin nasal spray.

Gay Filmmaker Battles Cancer, Sarcastic Ghosts, and Double-Crossing Coworkers in Benediction

Gay Filmmaker Battles Cancer, Sarcastic Ghosts, and Double-Crossing Coworkers in Benediction

Ben Schmidt cannot sleep. At forty-four, he fears aging, despite the vitality of his frequent love affairs with numerous attractive men. And when Ben is diagnosed with prostate cancer, he embarks upon a soul-searching journey for love and survival.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 23, 2009

Just in time for September--Prostate Cancer Awareness Month--comes a novel about a gay filmmaker, who when he receives a prostate cancer diagnosis, is forced to face his own mortality. Ben Schmidt must fight his fears while overcoming issues in his love life and making decisions about his future in Jim Arnold's new novel "Benediction" (ISBN 9781439248577, Eureka Street Press, 2009).

Ben Schmidt seems on the verge of success with the upcoming premiere of his newly completed film "Hell for the Holidays." And his love life is going great--he's having an affair with the sexy artist upstairs, and he has a boy toy on the side. But all that changes on 9/11, the day his personal world starts to fall apart with a prostate cancer diagnosis.

As mortality sinks in for Ben, he begins to see visions of deceased friends, including his dachshund, and he doesn't know what to make of them. His doctor assures him that surgery and radiation can save his life, but he will not be able to produce sperm any longer. Ben decides to bank his sperm for the future, an attempt to preserve his legacy.

Following the operation, Ben's life starts to come back together. His film has several successful premieres at festivals, and he has encounters with desirable men, although his inability to get an erection presents him with problems he seeks to remedy--only to result in more trouble. Then his nemesis at work gets him suspended, and love affairs go wrong. Happiness appears short-lived for Ben, but as long as he is still alive, hope springs eternal that in the end everything will work out, and if nothing else, he still has his sperm to give away.

"Benediction" is a dark-comedy that anyone middle-aged, gay or straight, will appreciate. Rather than another novel about a gay man with AIDS, Ben's prostate cancer embraces a larger male audience, showing a human and universal side to a gay man. Ben's romantic escapades are the gay equivalent of heterosexual male characters with healthy sexual appetites out of the pages of Philip Roth or John Updike. The novel's humor and use of the supernatural add spice and a surreal vision to questions of life, love and death. Brutally honest yet beautifully insightful, "Benediction" is a debut novel to be read, remembered, and read again.

Congress Addresses Online Search Marketing

Congress Addresses Online Search Marketing

The impact of online advertising on small firms; how online stores, like the Yahoo! Small Business, have enabled small businesses to compete with larger retailers.

Hoboken, NJ (PRWEB) July 4, 2008

Rob Snell, author of Starting a Yahoo! Business For Dummies (John Wiley & Sons, Inc.; $24.99; 410 pages; ISBN: 978-0-7645-8873-0) and Co-owner GunDogSupply. com went before House Committee on Small Business to speak about the impact of online advertising on small firms last week.

At the address Snell spoke about how online stores, like the Yahoo! Small Business, have enabled small businesses compete with larger retailers.

"Today, I'm going to share real numbers with you, so you can see the impact of search marketing on a real small business in dollars and cents. Every year our Yahoo! Stores get millions of visitors from the search engines. Tens of thousands of those visitors convert into paying customers. This year we will sell over $10 million dollars though several different Yahoo! Stores," said Snell.

"The Internet levels the playing field for small business folks like us. As a consultant and speaker, my job is to teach the little guys how to compete with the big guys. We use the Internet to leverage the strengths of small business: unparalleled product knowledge, enthusiasm for what we sell and do, and outstanding customer service and support. Bigger retailers cannot compete when we go head to head, product to product. They sell too many things!"

Snell is a frequent speaker and consultant and shares a lot of his expertise in Starting a Yahoo! Business For Dummies. The book helps both first-time Web entrepreneurs and existing brick-and-mortar businesses set up an online shop using Yahoo's merchant tools and platform. Coverage includes getting a URL, establishing Web space, building store design, setting up transaction tools, and handling orders. The book also covers Yahoo's tools designed to promote a store and the ins-and-outs of running an online business to help get things off the ground.

Bayer Animal Health Recognizes Outstanding Veterinarian with its First “Legend of the Year” Award

Bayer Animal Health Recognizes Outstanding Veterinarian with its First “Legend of the Year” Award

Dr. Liz Bracken of Atascadero, Calif., honored at AAEP Annual Convention

Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) December 7, 2010

Bayer Animal Health honored Dr. Liz Bracken of Atascadero, Calif., as the inaugural recipient of the “Legend of the Year” award, which recognizes veterinary professionals who provide equitarian aid or exceptional care for unwanted or abandoned horses. The award – which includes a $5,000 donation to Miller’s Equestrian Center and Sanctuary in San Luis Obispo, Calif. – was presented to Dr. Bracken at the 56th Annual Convention of the American Association for Equine Practitioners (AAEP) in Baltimore, Md.

Every year, an estimated 170,000 horses in the United States are subject to improper care, abuse or neglect. Bayer Animal Health asked horse owners and veterinary professionals to nominate veterinary professionals whose commitment to equine care has been exceptional for the “Legend of the Year” award. Hundreds of nominations were received from Sept. 1, 2010 through the Oct. 31, 2010 deadline, many of them detailing how vet professionals have responded to the problem of horse abandonment, which has increased during the recession. The nominations predominantly came from horse owners who participated in an online quiz called “What Legend is Your Horse?” sponsored by Bayer Animal Health, available at http://www. MyLegendaryHorse. com.

“As part of our commitment to provide animal health solutions that support veterinarians, Bayer Animal Health understands the unwavering care these veterinary professionals provide,” said Scott King, DVM, equine products manager at Bayer Animal Health, who presented the award during the keynote speech at the meeting. “In honoring veterinary professionals with our ‘Legend of the Year’ award, we honor their often selfless and uncompensated efforts to provide exceptional care for abused or neglected horses. It is the least that we can do to recognize the efforts of these exceptional veterinary professionals,” King said.

Dr. Bracken selected Miller’s Equestrian Center and Sanctuary to receive the $5,000 donation to support its mission to benefit children in the community through the rescue of horses.

“It was such an honor to receive this award just for doing something that I love,” said Dr. Bracken, who rehabilitates rescued horses for use by children in California and Mexico. “It is so rewarding that my work touches people’s lives, and I am thankful to Bayer Animal Health for this donation.”

The company also recognized the following four finalists for their exemplary contributions to horse rescue:
Karina Benish, RVT, Ramona, Calif.  Dr. Woodrow Friend, Lexington, Ky.  Dr. Sheila Lyons, Brockton, Mass.  Dr. Mike Martin, Roseburg, Ore. For more information on the Bayer Animal Health “Legend of the Year” award, visit: http://www. MyLegendaryVet. com.

Myrtue Medical Center Selects Design Clinicals as IT Vendor to Position for Meaningful Use Requirements, Stimulus Funds

Myrtue Medical Center Selects Design Clinicals as IT Vendor to Position for Meaningful Use Requirements, Stimulus Funds

Myrtue Medical Center has chosen Design Clinicals as its IT vendor to expand electronic medication reconciliation to a full Patient-Safety Platform with MedsTracker® Enterprise Medication Reconciliation. The move will secure Myrtue's place on the fast track to quickly demonstrate "meaningful use" and take advantage of federal recovery act incentive payments.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) January 8, 2010

Myrtue Medical Center of Harlan, Iowa has chosen Design Clinicals as the IT vendor to expand electronic medication reconciliation to a full Patient-Safety Platform, securing Myrtue’s place on the fast track to quickly demonstrate “meaningful use” and take advantage of federal recovery act incentive payments.

“MedsTracker distinguishes itself by its success rate for physician adoption,” said Khristine Jacobsen, chief information officer for Myrtue Medical Center, a 25-bed Critical Access hospital in rural Iowa. “The founders of Design Clinicals have lived the life the clinicians are living. The result is a product that exemplifies a whole new realm of understanding of the nursing-physician relationship and the entire clinician workflow. MedsTracker has increased patient safety and decreased our discharge time. Taking the application to the next level with computerized order entry will prevent errors at every point of care—and it will accomplish this in a way that respects and supports each doctor’s workflow preferences.”

Developed by practicing physicians and hospital IT professionals, MedsTracker has a 90-plus percent physician adoption rate, making it an ideal component of an enterprise approach to meeting meaningful use requirements. While actual criteria are still in draft form, it is clear that under the HITECH provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), incentive payments—and avoidance of penalties—will emphasize clinical adoption and require demonstrated, productive use by physicians. MedsTracker also meets the Joint Commission Patient Safety Goal for medication reconciliation for 2011.

“Design Clinicals will position Myrtue to deliver safe and effective care, to meet the criteria for meaningful use not only for 2011, but also for 2013 and 2015,” said Dewey Howell, MD, PhD, founder and president of Design Clinicals.

Hospitals, particularly small Critical Access hospitals, struggle with the staggering costs of building and implementing IT systems to support the future of meaningful use and standards-based interoperability. The federal stimulus package provides incentives and creates urgency for hospitals to invest in healthcare technology to improve quality and increase patient safety, while enhancing performance measurement and reporting functions.

In addition to cost, healthcare IT research firm KLAS reports that barriers to implementation include finding the right vendor that can deliver satisfactory functionality—approximately half the electronic medical records vendors were unable to deliver satisfactory functionality scores for their products, particularly in computerized physician order entry (CPOE). MedsTracker offers robust functionality that today supports many of the anticipated meaningful use criteria with comprehensive patient safety modules, while providing a flexible, lean solution that doesn’t require extensive resources for build-out, implementation and support.

“MedsTracker is the ideal solution, especially for small, Critical Access designation hospitals,” said Myrtue Chief Executive Officer Barry Jacobsen. “Implementing MedsTracker places Myrtue on the leading edge of meaningful use for a truly comprehensive electronic health record future. It helps ensure incentive funding through the ARRA—all while performing its most important task: greatly improving safety for our patients.”

Jacobsen added, “What matters most in selecting a software solution is whether the program can mesh with the culture and workflow within the organization. The enhanced MedsTracker Platform will increase efficiency for the whole hospital, without requiring us to significantly change our culture.”

Doe Run Peru Begins Sulfuric Acid Plant for La Oroya Lead Circuit

Doe Run Peru Begins Sulfuric Acid Plant for La Oroya Lead Circuit

First of three acid plants on schedule for 2008 completion

La Oroya, Peru (PRWEB) May 29, 2007

Doe Run Peru (http://www. doerun. com. pe/) has begun the equipment purchasing process for a sulfuric acid plant designed to address health issues at its La Oroya metallurgical facility. The facility is scheduled to be completed in September of 2008, a Doe Run Peru official said.

Jose Mogrovejo, the company's vice president for environmental affairs, made the announcement to more than 300 residents of La Oroya and surrounding communities at the Third Annual Conference of Authorities and Communities of La Oroya. The plant is part of Doe Run Peru's environmental operating agreement (known by its Spanish acronym, PAMA) with the Peruvian government.

"The sulfuric acid plant for the lead circuit is part of the last of our PAMA projects and also includes the construction of plants for the copper circuit, which is expected to be running in October 2009, and the zinc circuit, which has been running since December of last year," Mogrovejo said. "We have estimated a total investment of more than $100 million in these projects."

During a question-and-answer session that followed Mogrovejo's comments Jonás Justo Tolentín, president of the neighboring community of Santa Rosa de Chacco, asked the company to continue its community support and environmental progress to "demonstrate to the people who do not live in La Oroya that there is life here."

Meanwhile, a representative of the community of Huari asked officials with the regional government to find solutions to issues of environmental emissions in La Oroya.

The event, organized by Doe Run Peru on May 17, brought together senior Doe Run Peru officials with some 300 people including local and regional authorities; presidents and representatives of the peasant communities of Paccha, Santa Rosa de Sacco, Huari and Chacapalca.

The annual event is organized by Doe Run Peru to promote direct and transparent dialogue with principal representatives and authorities of communities surrounding its operations.

César Gutiérrez, mayor of the district of Yauli-La Oroya, said at the meeting that Doe Run Peru participates regularly in these kinds of meetings and that "we are focused on encouraging them to continue to produce change in La Oroya."

Once the PAMA projects are complete, which is expected in 2009, the company's total investment on environmental issues is expected to reach $254 million, nearly 2.4 times the investment initially required under the agreement.

Doe Run Peru reported in April that an aggressive modernization campaign and other environmental projects had brought emissions of particulate matter and heavy metals, including lead, from the metallurgical facility's main stack within Peruvian governmental limits.

The ranking shows a healthy 28.7% in aggregate revenue growth of its listed companies over the previous year - indicating a strengthening of economies in the Muslim world

The purpose of the DS100™ is to portray as close a picture as possible of the corporate environment in OIC member countries. "With the tremendous global media interest in the first DS100™ ranking, we are confident that the ranking is playing its part in raising the spirit of competitiveness in the region, as well as serving as a means of motivation and pride to the ever-important workforce and corporate leaders alike.”

Haunted Sword Spooks eBay

Haunted Sword Spooks eBay

Farah Yurdozu, noted psychic spiritualist and star of TLC's Dead Tenants, tells reluctant owner, "Get it out of the house!"

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 19, 2006

When a Hoboken, New Jersey, resident asked Farah Yurdozu, the Turkish spiritualist and ghost-hunting star of TLC's Dead Tenants, to help him do a spiritual cleansing of his apartment, the last thing he was expecting was to be told his run of bad luck was attributable to a sword that's been gathering dust for years. The sword in question, a Japanese Type 32 Cavalry Saber he has owned since the 80's, was ignored in a corner until Farah, who specializes in giving homes "spiritual makeovers" to banish negativity and make them healthier and happier places to live, zeroed in on its aura.

"This sword was involved in bad things," she said, "and it invites bad things into your home." Farah adds, "Few people realize that the objects in their homes can have as powerful an effect on their lives as the people who live there."

So he's placed it on eBay, warning any collector brave enough to bid, "Maybe it's in the wrong home. What you believe is up to you, but for me, it's time to part with it."

The sword in question can be seen at http://cgi. ebay. com/HAUNTED-Japanese-Type-32-Cavalry-Saber-Sword_W0QQitemZ6622896994QQcategoryZ43338QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi. ebay. com/HAUNTED-Japanese-Type-32-Cavalry-Saber-Sword_W0QQitemZ6622896994QQcategoryZ43338QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Her work at the Institute led to Farah's becoming Turkey's best-selling author of metaphysical books and host of her own TV show still broadcast throughout the Turkish speaking world.

Armed with one tarot deck, four languages and a desire to explore, Farah arrived in New York in 2002, where she rapidly became a sought-after spiritual advisor with a strong gift for empowering women.
