Get a Date and Lose That Weight. Singles Club, Events & Adventures, Partners With Lt. Colonel Bob Weinstein, who was featured on the History Channel, to Kick Off a Special Members Only Event of Beach Boot Camp on Wednesday, October 6th, 2004 at 7 PM on Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida, corner of Las Olas and A1A

The social and health aspects of dating are finding the perfect combination with this special event of Beach Boot Camp on Fort Lauderdale Beach by Lt. Col. Weinstein designed for all fitness levels and lasting 60 minutes.

(PRWEB) August 16, 2004

No more cry babies! Get in shape and get that date! It doesn't matter whether you are a couch potato with expert channel surfing skills and frequent refrigerator "sprints" or a gym rat who is not able to do cardio more than 5 minutes because of all that iron pumping. It doesn't matter whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle, firm up abs, triceps or butt or work on the cardio. You'll get it all at Beach Boot Camp on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Retired army Lieutenant Colonel Bob Weinstein, who is 53 years "young", introduces the civilians to his style of staying in shape and keeping it that way. His workout turns back the biological clock. New years resolutions and gym visits have not brought about the necessary physical and mental change to sustain good eating and exercise habits. "The buck stops here!" Your mind and body will be "reformed" to achieve those results you have always wanted but kept telling yourself "that's not possible for me."

Col. Weinstein call's this busy personÂ’s workout. CanÂ’t figure out how to find the time to work the upper body, then the lower and then the cardio? This class is a back to nature approach of combining cardio, strength, flexibility and agility all into one class. As the name "Beach Boot Camp" states, this workout is on the beach and includes a fun and challenging mix of body weight exercises and some jogging with the use of the resistance band to add more variety to the upper body workout. No two classes are identical. The emphasis, intensity and frequency of the various exercises make this class the foundation of all the workouts offered. Colonel Weinstein and his workout have been featured on television's History Channel, Fox Sports Net, Univision, Comcast Newsmakers and HD News. Colonel Weinstein has also been featured in various local and national publications and newspapers.

Asked why such a partnership with Events and Adventures is a good idea, Col. Weinstein replies, "This is an excellent opportunity to combine the social, recreational and health benefits. The participants can have lots of fun while being on the beach enjoying the ocean and fresh air. Tourists pay thousands of dollars just to enjoy this beach. We have it at our finger-tips so let's take advantage."

One of the frequent questions Col. Weinstein gets from spectators during his beach workouts is, "Is there a war going on here?"

Col. Weinstein's response, "Yes, there's a war going on in this country. There are enemy soldiers on American soil. We know who they are. Their names are Cancer, Heart Disease and Stroke. They're killing over 3,000 Americans a day and causing pain and suffering of many thousands more. I want to arm Americans with healthy eating and exercise habits to take out these enemy soldiers and reduce and prevent the pain and suffering caused by them. My mission is to inspire and motivate others to lead healthier and happier lives by eating healthy and exercising regularly."

NutraOrigin's Omega-3 Fish Oil Supplements Provide Support to Patients Suffering from Sleep Deprivation

NutraOrigin's Omega-3 Fish Oil Supplements Provide Support to Patients Suffering from Sleep Deprivation

Study validates supplement's use for facilitating sleep deprivation and drowsiness

New Hyde Park, NY (PRWEB) March 19, 2010

NutraOrigin's Omega-3 Fish Oil supplements were recently chosen by Advanced Brain Monitoring, Inc. (ABM) for a clinical study investigating the positive effects of omega-3 fish oil on certain sleep disorders. The study found that NutraOrigin's Omega-3 supplement may help in reducing the effects of sleep deprivation and overall drowsiness while also helping to reduce signs of physiological anxiety.

Advanced Brain Monitoring, located in Carlsbad, CA, chose NutraOrigin'sOmega-3 Fish Oil supplement after reviewing many omega-3 supplement options currently available. According to ABM, of the selections reviewed, NutraOrigin's formula was chosen because it met the necessary criteria. Criteria used for selection included EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid)/ DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) concentration, molecular distillation, and product stability. After comparisons between formulas, ABM determined NutraOrigin'sOmega-3 Fish Oil supplements (http://www. nutraorigin. com/Product/30/All-Health-Concerns/53/General-Welllness/5466/Omega-3-Fish-Oil. aspx) were the clear choice.

The clinical study found the NutraOriginomega-3 supplement to facilitate sleep deprived performance maintenance, reduce overall drowsiness, and improve perceptions of emotional and physical capability. According to ABM, NutraOrigin's omega-3 product was also associated with a trend toward reducing signs of physiological anxiety. Study patients taking the fish oil supplements had better reaction times and less inaccuracy than patients taking the placebo (olive oil) pill. These findings confirm Advanced Brain Monitoring's hypothesis that omega-3 reduces the effects of sleep deprivation.

"We are extremely honored to have been chosen by Advanced Brain Monitoring to participate in this study. We take pride in offering our customers only top-notch products that provide legitimate results for the consumer," says Alex Kheshin, Chief Operating Officer for NutraOrigin. "We pursue ongoing research for our products and are excited by the discovery of yet another potential health benefit of omega 3."

NutraOrigin's omega-3 fish oil supplements (http://www. nutraorigin. com/Product/30/All-Health-Concerns/53/General-Welllness/5466/Omega-3-Fish-Oil. aspx) are of pharmaceutical grade with high concentrates of EPA and DHA, both of which surpass the amounts found in common fish oil products. These products are certified pure - void of harmful heavy metals, pesticides, yeast, mold, bacteria and other contaminants - and molecularly distilled, providing the maximum amount of DHA and EPA while removing impurities and heavy metals such as mercury and lead. All of NutraOrigin's products contain no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives and use ingredients found in nature whenever possible.

Fish oil is known for much more than reducing the effects of sleep deprivation. In a study conducted by the University of California, San Francisco, researchers found people who had higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids in their blood were more likely to have long telomeres - telomeres are part of a cell's DNA linked to biological aging - making them biologically younger than their real age. Omega-3 fatty acids have also been linked to clinical trials that suggest fish oil supports joint health and mobility by suppressing inflammation in joints. Fish oil is probably most known for its cardiovascular benefits, maintaining healthy triglyceride and blood pressure levels. Other studies have linked fish oil to healthy eyes, brains, and waist lines.

NutraOrigin develops state-of-the-art comprehensive formulas designed to nutritionally address some of the most devastating health concerns in North America. Their innovative products improve the quality of life, and in turn, satisfy their customer's nutritional needs and enhance their overall well-being. NutraOrigin's omega-3 fish oil supplements (http://www. nutraorigin. com/Product/30/All-Health-Concerns/53/General-Welllness/5466/Omega-3-Fish-Oil. aspx) are available for purchase by visiting www. NutraOrigin. com and searching for fish oil.

New Antioxidant-Rich Dark Chocolate Aids in Diet and Weight Loss

New Antioxidant-Rich Dark Chocolate Aids in Diet and Weight Loss

Everywhere you look these days, on radio, television, and in the newspapers, you're hearing about studies that show that healthy-chocolate promotes weight loss. But these aren't the same old name-brand chocolate bars you would find at your local grocery store.

Indialantic, FL (PRWEB) March 25, 2008

The media is saturated with studies that have shown that some chocolates have positive health effects. But these aren't the name-brand chocolate bars you would find at your local grocery store.

An internationally recognized expert in the field of alternative medicine focusing on diet and nutrition, Dr. Keith Scott-Mumby, has studied the properties and benefits of a chocolate diet (http://www. healthydoctorchocolate. com).

"Chocolate is made from the beans of the cacao tree, Theobroma Cacao," says Scott-Mumby. He explains that plant flavanoids are commonly known for their antioxidant activity. "A small bar of chocolate can contain as many flavanoids as six apples, as four and a half cups of tea or two glasses of red wine."

He developed The Doctor's Chocolate to utilize the great benefits of chocolate without the unhealthy ingredients that are often included in the common bar. This chocolate promotes weight loss (http://www. healthydoctorchocolate. com). Eating just one to three pieces can suppress your appetite enough that you will not crave junk food.

Charlotte Palmer started dieting with her husband. She decided that The Doctor's Chocolate was going to be a treat that she could eat that would help her suppress her appetite. After four months she lost 50 pounds and is continuing to follow her diet.

"Eating The Doctor's Chocolate has helped me along because it has kept me from eating other junk food, it has helped suppress my appetite, and it has helped me to remain calm and not so stressed when you're missing out on all the other treats," comments Palmer.

The Doctor's Chocolate is a mere 20 calories per piece, is diabetic safe and because it is not weighed down with all the sugars and milk that processed chocolate is famous for, it actually is metabolized slowly and leaves you feeling satisfied after only a couple of pieces.

This special dark chocolate truffle (http://www. healthydoctorchocolate. com) has no trans fat so you don't have to feel guilty when you eat them. They taste great without the traditional sugar that can often cause problems with blood sugar and weight. Instead of sugar and milk being added, The Doctor's Chocolate is sweetened by a sugar alcohol called Xylotol, recognized by the FDA as a safe non-sugar sweetener. Be careful of any products containing synthetic or chemical sweeteners such as sucralose or aspartame. The Doctor's Chocolate has only natural products, without additives, preservatives or coloring.

You can get a bag of Doctor's Chocolate for only $49.95 by visiting http://www. healthydoctorchocolate. com (http://www. healthydoctorchocolate. com). If you order two bags, shipping and handling is free.

MainNerve, Inc. Launches Adaptive DarkNet™ – The World's First Real-Time Malware Countermeasure that Automatically Shields Customer Networks Before Serious Damage Occurs

MainNerve, Inc. Launches Adaptive DarkNet™ – The World's First Real-Time Malware Countermeasure that Automatically Shields Customer Networks Before Serious Damage Occurs

Adaptive DarkNet™ Detects, Tracks, and Stops Unauthorized Use of Network Resources and Provides Tools to Eliminate the Source – Without False Positives

PHOENIX, AZ (PRWEB) September 24, 2004

MainNerve, Inc., a global information security firm, announces its launch of Adaptive DarkNet™, the world’s first continuously-improving network security service that empowers customers to proactively defend their networks from all types of malicious software including Trojans, viruses, worms, and other malware before they cause significant damage. Using a simple, automated solution-in-a-box, Adaptive DarkNet™ provides affordable, effective defense for any enterprise by stopping wrongdoers from controlling internal network resources without false-positive-laden intrusion detection or prevention systems (IDS or IPS) or cost-prohibitive host-based software. Adaptive DarkNet™ is effective both when used alone and in concert with other layered security products to close existing gaps. Through MainNerve’s partnerships with large enterprises and telecommunications carriers, Adaptive DarkNet™ uses real-time intelligence collected at hundreds of points across the Internet to track the sources of dangerous behavior and then shields customer networks from these attacks.

Victor Oppleman, President of MainNerve, said, “Corporate security managers are faced with a new reality – increasingly sophisticated threats are penetrating networks every second of every day and what gets in is only half the battle.” Oppleman added, “Existing signature-based solutions or anomaly detectors that claim to solve the rest at exorbitant prices have proven to do nothing more than cry wolf.”

MainNerve’s Adaptive DarkNet™ service is the most sophisticated and workable anti-malware solution available in the market today. Satisfied pre-launch customers include eFunds Corporation, John C. Lincoln Health Network, and Blood Systems, Inc. "Within minutes after integration, MainNerve's Adaptive DarkNet™ had given me more visibility into the threats my global network was facing than any other security product I've used," said Kim Jones, Director, Global Security Services, eFunds Corporation.

more - Among a slew of other advanced features, Adaptive DarkNet™ offers several major technological advancements beyond those commercially available today including the ability to:

• in real time, automatically track and stop conversations with attackers attempting to remotely control internal network systems, even when authorized protocols are used (based on the exact source IP address of attackers and without signatures or topology-dependent hardware or software network analyzers like IDS).

• identify scanning/propagating software (worms) faster and more accurately than anti-virus and IDS without signatures or false positives.

• detect internal attacks against third-party networks and occurrences of third-parties implicating customer networks as the source of an attack on another party.

MainNerve and its strategic partners operate a global network of flow analyzers, darknets, and other intelligence collection software and devices that actively, and in real-time, feed MainNerve network health data, which are correlated immediately to identify active threats and attacker control channels and targets and then transmitted in real-time to a device called the Interrogator-AD™ located on the customer’s premises. Interrogator-AD™ adaptively modifies its configuration (also in real-time) with the most up-to-date knowledge of Internet threats and instructs the customer’s network to direct malicious activity to it, instead of its intended recipient. Interrogator-AD™ then blocks the undesired communication – immediately eliminating the threat – and stores evidence of the attempted conversation for administrator review and after-action, which need not be done right away because the immediate threat has been abated. Adaptive DarkNet™ also captures worms scanning network regions – even new worms that haven not yet been identified – sometimes days before any action by anti-virus vendors. Evidence of threatening network activities, such as the specific threat/transaction and internal misbehaving systems, as well as the source of the attempted remote control and the extent of the internal intrusion and/or infection, can be viewed graphically via Adaptive DarkNet’s™ web interface.

To eliminate the need for additional complicated software to manage, MainNerve partnered with Packet Interrogation, Inc. to deliver the Interrogator-AD™. The device is a 1 rack-unit, 14-inch deep, rack-mountable system. Each device is integrated in compliance with the customer’s existing network and security topology and without creating an additional point-of-failure.

Adaptive DarkNet™ detects, tracks, and stops unauthorized use of network resources and provides tools to eliminate the source without false positives. MainNerve's breakthrough technology and global data analysis network identify threats occurring globally and automatically shield customer networks before serious damage occurs.

Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, MainNerve specializes in network and information security software and services. Its diverse client roster includes medium and Fortune 500 businesses operating in both local and global markets. Primary service offerings include unique security perimeter and penetration testing; logical security audits and policy development; enterprise identity management; directory integration; and managed security services. The MainNerve logo is a service mark of MainNerve, Inc., and Adaptive DarkNet™ is a trademark of MainNerve, Inc. and is patent-pending. Alternatives for All Horse Owners Announced

Alternatives for All Horse Owners Announced

Announcing the long-awaited Alternatives to Auction and Slaughter-A Guide for Equine Owners book. The book offers literally thousands of alternatives to allowing horses to be slaughtered for human consumption,

(PRWEB) November 5, 2004

The American Horse Defense Fund (AHDF), the nation's premier horse protection, education and advocacy nonprofit organization, announces the publication of an invaluable resource for all horse owners, Alternatives to Auction and Slaughter a Guide for Equine Owners-A Better Way©. This book lists resources for the entire country including; life and end of life options, legal issues and other helpful information that can be invaluable for anyone who owns a horse in the United States.

The AHDF, in working with horse owners and horse issues nationwide, became acutely aware of a lack of substantial resource list. Often AHDF staff members and volunteers would have to spend hours online looking for specific resources within a specific state from which an informal list for organizational use was developed. Trina Bellak, Esq., AHDF's president and chief operations officer, envisioned the need for a national resource guidebook, "If we can see a use for this information, so can the average owner." So several volunteers took on the monumental task of contacting facilities, companies, programs and rescues all over the country and putting the information in lists useful for horse owners and professionals. The book also debunks the myth that there is no other alternative for some horses than euthanasia or brutal slaughter for human consumption.

With thousands of individual listings, the book is broken down by state and resource types and is over 330 pages long. The book provides basic information on, domestic and wild horse retraining assistance, programs/institutions/agencies that take donated horses, transporting, live and deceased horses, disposal options, sanctuaries, rescues and many more resources, never before compiled in a single place. There is also special bill of sale and a lease that can be used by owners to protect their horses now and in the future. The book is designed to look at all the issues horse owners face when they cannot or do not wish to keep their horse or have problems with an equine. "The book is designed to look at all the issues horse owners face. It doesn't just say ‘Don't send your horse to slaughter,' but gives information and resources on how to avoid it," says Shelley Sawhook one of the contributors to the book and the AHDF's Communications Director. "When we began the work on this book it looked like a monumental task, but everyone was so devoted and we were able to pull it off," says Bellak "And now horse owners will have a viable list of alternatives and resources never before available." The book will be available on CD, in print and on AHDF's website. "The best part of the book, in addition to giving horse owners a list of valuable resources, is that it shows that there really is no reason for horse slaughter for human consumption, there are plenty of alternatives," Bellak states.

Each year thousands of horses are slaughtered in the United States, a very large percentage of them are healthy, younger horses and ponies. Their meat is sold in high-end restaurants and specialty butcher shops in Belgium, France, Japan, and other European countries. The number of horses killed may seem astronomical, but actually represent 1% or less of the horse population in the US. Surveys have been conducted that show the majority of Americans are opposed to horse slaughter. The statistics vary from place to place and range from 84-91% of voters who favor legislation that would end horse slaughter for human consumption. A large percentage feel that horses are sport or companion animals rather than typical livestock and feel that the horse is a part of our heritage and represent a part of our history.

Horsemeat is not sold in the US and in some states is actually illegal to possess. The American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act, sponsored by US Representative John Sweeney and Senator John Ensign, DVM, garnered tremendous bipartisan support in both the House and Senate. The bill gathered over 225 supporters in the House and 10 in the Senate. However, US House Agriculture Committee Chairman Representative Bob Goodlatte (R, VA) blocked its passage in the session ending now. The hope is that with the addition of the AHDF's book, opposition to the bill will greatly diminish and will lead to the bill's passage. "We appreciate the American Horse Defense Fund in publishing this book, Alternatives to Auction and Slaughter, and we commend them and all who work tirelessly to end this vile practice," joint forward statement by US Representative John Sweeney and Senator John Ensign DVM.

"Our goal is to get this book into the hands of every horse owner in the country," says Bellak. For this reason the book will be available without charge, but donations are welcomed with a suggested dollar figure of $10. The only fee will be for shipping and handling for the CD or hard copy. Bellak states, "We hope that owners will keep a copy with them at all times, as it could be valuable for them to have while they are traveling or in case of emergency." The AHDF is looking for sponsors for the book and advertising space is still available since funds are badly needed to cover large publishing and mailing costs. Equine magazines and publications are urged to run PSA ads for this book. The first issue of the book is expected to be available by the middle of November. All donations to the AHDF, a 501(c)(3) are tax deductible as allowed by law.

For information on advertising please e-mail terry@ahdf. org. To order a copy of the book or for more information on the book or the American Horse Defense Fund, log onto www. ahdf. org or email shelley@ahdf. org.

Young Hollywood Share Secrets for a Red Carpet Smile

Young Hollywood Share Secrets for a Red Carpet Smile

Today's hottest young stars share their secrets for a million-dollar smile with DenTek Oral Care.

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) September 24, 2008

While most of the Hollywood chatter focused on nominees, top winners, and "who was wearing who" at the 60th Primetime Emmy® Awards, several of Hollywood's young stars insisted that flashing a million-dollar smile is what really gets the cameras clicking.

'90210' star Jessica Stroup; Lucy Hale ('Privileged'); 'High School Musical' stars Monique Coleman, Justin Martin and Kaycee Stroh; 'The Secret Life of an American Teenager' star Shailene Woodley; Angus T. Jones of 'Two and A Half Men'; Vincent Martella of 'Everybody Hates Chris' and 'Phineas & Ferb'; Jennifer Stone of 'Wizards of Waverly Place'; Anna Maria Perez de Tagle of 'Hannah Montana'; Debby Ryan of 'The Suite Life on Deck', and Raven-Symone's TV Dad Rondell Sheridan from 'That's So Raven" were among the red carpet celebs who visited DenTek at a recent Emmy Awards celebration. Mostly, they shared personal reflections of how designer fashions can help set the image. But all insisted that an appealing smile is what "goes the mile".

According to Shailene who plays Amy, "I'm here to tell you the importance of having a good smile. Not only is it a self confidence thing, it's also an image thing for everybody. It's a good thing to have fresh breath and no food stuck in your teeth. Flossing and brushing everyday is definitely important."

Wizards' Jennifer Stone agreed saying, "I have the coolest product ever. It's called DenTek Fun Flossers. I can't stress to you how important flossing is. I use them and they're fantastic!"

Move over Armani. DenTek, famed for its oral hygiene products, is a dressing room staple of the mega stars. Before this year's Emmy's got underway, some stars recounted their "less than flattering" experiences -- including some embarrassing photos taken by the paparazzi. Brenda Song from Disney's 'Suite Life on Deck' explained, "One time on the red carpet, I was so hungry I ate in the car. And the next day in my pictures, I had black pepper in my teeth. I always carry flossers with me in my purse. It's important to floss, so everyone - floss, floss, floss."

The 'High School Musical' stars also chimed in. Monique confided, "We have a bunch of DenTek products for flossing and tongue brushing and really cool stuff in really cool colors to help you with your dental hygiene."

While Justin stressed his favorite - Fun Flossers, Kaycee joined in saying, "It's very important when you smile on the red carpet that you have floss and beautiful clean teeth. I promise this will be worth your while, so take my advice."

Den Tek products have long been a Hollywood mainstay. Founded by CEO John Jansheski, DenTek began with the Dental Pik and now features over 25 products. DenTek products offer convenient solutions for flossing, care of braces, teeth grinding, and jaw pain. As "That's So Raven" star Rondell Sheridan explained, "I have hundreds of these. I keep these in my car because I eat in my car. I'm in the business where I need to have white teeth. This is really cool."

DenTek promoted its product line at the Emmy's "because we know how important image and oral health is to our customers," said Melinda Pritchett, Brand Manager, DenTek Oral Care, Inc. "We want all of our DenTek users to have peace of mind whether they are stars at home, at school, or in Hollywood." For more information visit DenTek. com.

50% of all men and 1/3 of all women are projected to get cancer in their lifetime unless we make some changes to the way we live. 6 million people are walking around with Diabetes and don't even know it.

800,000 new cases of Diabetes are discovered each year and yet our diet can play such a critical role in minimizing the damage this terrible disease can do. A few changes could save millions of lives.

Osteoporosis is one of the leading silent killers today because postmenopausal women lose up to 3% or more of their bone mass each year. Millions of women are not taking the right form of absorbable calcium to ensure the blood receives it and is able to utilize it. We want to make sure all women are taking the right calcium that is actually able to be absorbed through the digestive tract and go right into the bloodstream.

Taking Vegetable enzymes are just as critical as taking the right form of minerals. Eating cooked and processed foods, without enzymes present to help the body digest the food, could be taking years off our lives. When the body isn't able to completely digest food we eat, it leads to premature death.

So what's the answer? Taking a supplement that has the highest forms of whole vitamins, chelated minerals, probiotics, and vegetable enzymes, in our opinion, is one way to ensure we are giving our body nutrients that it's missing! it's also a great way to help nutritionally support the body which could protect the body from so many diseases.

RamSoft Offers Entry-Level PACS Starting at $14,000

RamSoft Offers Entry-Level PACS Starting at $14,000

At the HIMSS conference, RamSoft announced the release of PowerServer Lite, an entry-level version of its web-based PowerServer PACS to start at $14,000 for facilities performing less than 5,000 diagnostic imaging examinations per year.

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) February 25, 2008

At the HIMSS conference (http://www. himssconference. org), RamSoft (http://www. ramsoft. com) announced the release of PowerServer Lite, an entry-level version of its web-based PowerServer PACS starting at $14,000. This economical PACS system is meant to accommodate the financial crunch facing imaging facilities in the post-DRA world; without compromising reliability or usability.

"This new offering provides budget conscious facilities with an alternative choice for high-quality PACS," says Vijay Ramanathan, President and CEO, RamSoft. "Our main goal is to bring reliable PACS to every facility; no matter the size or budgetary restrictions."

How RamSoft delivers a robust, reliable web-based PACS at a low price:

Sticking to the essentials.
PowerServer Lite remains faithful to what a web-based PACS should do; and does it consistently and reliably. It is designed for facilities that need a fully functional PACS but don't require all the added features of a higher-end system. PowerServer Lite is also standards compliant to HL7, DICOM and HIPAA, which means you are able to easily integrate our system into your existing healthcare IT infrastructure.

Rapid, remote deployment and installation.
A PACS deployment doesn't have to be slow and expensive. Innovations in remote deployment technologies have allowed installations to be efficient and headache-free. Yet, many PACS vendors still insist having onsite staff for their deployments; overlooking remote technologies and ultimately raising your costs. RamSoft on the other hand, has embraced these technologies and integrated them in every facet of their deployment process. This means that your facility can "go live" in a short period of time without RamSoft specialists ever setting foot onsite.

ELearning classrooms and interactive training material
The technology a facility invests in is only as effective as the trained staff using it. RamSoft's unique online training program is a cost-efficient model for facilities to train staff without the costs of bringing a trainer onsite. It allows qualified RamSoft instructors located anywhere in the world to bring your employees up to speed and using PowerServer Lite right away. After the eLearning training sessions, facility staff has access to a library of self-paced interactive training seminars that they can use to review basic features, or upgrade their skills by learning the advanced functions of PowerServer Lite.

Single coherent solution.
Often low-cost PACS solutions are built out of "bits and pieces" of various technologies. These "patchwork" systems don't provide the level of reliability, maintainability, and usability that today's medical imaging centers demand. In contrast, PowerServer Lite is a streamlined PACS server application that runs on a single server and database; a smart and simple solution that has proven to be a success story not just for RamSoft, but for its clients as well.

The benefits of PowerServer Lite:

Unlimited freedom.
The licensing model behind PowerServer Lite enables users to install clinical workstations on any number of machines and allows for an unlimited number of users. This frees staff from the inconvenience of buying user licenses every time a facility grows.

100% web-based accessibility.
PowerServer Lite is completely web-based and accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. Because it utilizes RamSoft's proprietary bandwidth load distribution and study push technology, readings can be performed with no latency or wait periods.

Flexibility and scalability
An important aspect of this economical PowerServer Lite is that facilities are never locked into this entry-level solution. When a facility reaches a threshold where a more feature-rich PACS system is required, PowerServer Lite's unique upgrade path allows for quick and seamless transition to RamSoft's PowerServer PACS or PowerServer RIS/PACS solutions.

Worry-free maintenance.
Once deployed, PowerServer Lite is self-maintaining and does not require IT staff to regularly monitor or actively perform maintenance tasks. Should any issues arise, the responsive RamSoft customer support team is always there just a click away.

Proven heritage.
Entry-level does not mean lower quality. PowerServer Lite is built off of the same platform as our market-leading PowerServer PACS solution. This mean that facilities the same core technology that has consistently placed RamSoft in the top rankings in the annual "Top 20 Year-End Best in KLAS Awards" (http://www. healthcomputing. com).

About RamSoft
RamSoft (http://www. ramsoft. com) has been developing quality medical imaging software since 1994. RamSoft provides a range of RIS/PACS services and solutions to various parts of the imaging marketplace; specializing in ambulatory, acute, and teleradiology segments.

Choosing Mexico to Offer Seminars for Mexico Retirement or Second Home Residency

Choosing Mexico to Offer Seminars for Mexico Retirement or Second Home Residency

Six Seminars in West Coast Cities Aimed at Baby Boomers

Bellevue, WA (PRWEB) September 25, 2007

Ever considered retiring in Mexico or living there part time?

If so, you're not alone. Thousands of baby boomers wonder what it would be like to move to Mexico, according to organizers of six seminars taking place in West Coast cities beginning October 22.

"We believe that significant numbers of Americans are curious about living in Mexico full time or for long seasonal stays, but lack objective and accurate knowledge about how to do it," says Patti Kilpatrick of Choosing Mexico LLC, a new educational services company founded by Kilpatrick and other Mexican tourism veterans.

Choosing Mexico kicks off in the Seattle area on Oct. 22 with live seminars (http://choosingmexico-seminars. com) entitled "The Good Life in MEXICO - Doing it Right". Other seminars will follow in Portland, Oct. 24; San Francisco, Oct. 26; Los Angeles, Nov. 5; San Diego, Nov. 7, and Phoenix, Nov. 9. (Editor's note: See venues and specific times at end of release). All the seminars will begin at 4:45 p. m. and end at 9:45 p. m.

Speakers will address the cost of living in Mexico, health care, cultural differences and language, immigration and moving permits, handling finances, taxes, insurance, real estate laws and purchase procedures, renting options, and geographical areas where Americans are buying second homes in Mexico for long stays as well as Mexico retirement residences. Among the speakers are Tom Kelly (http://tomkelly. com), journalist and co-author of the book "Cashing In on a Second Home in Mexico;" Eric Post, vice president of Windermere Realty Partners, a member of Windermere Real Estate, a co-sponsor of the series; Juan Eufracio Márquez Flores, director of tourism for the municipality of Chapala and private consultant on Mexican immigration law, and Javier Degollado González, expert on government regulations related to real estate.

In addition, nearly a dozen Mexican-based developers and representatives of city and state tourism authorities will be available for one-on-one conversations with attendees. Among the Mexican communities that will be represented are Los Cabos (http://www. loscabos. gob. mx), San Miguel de Allende (http://turismosanmiguel. com. mx), Chapala (http://chapala. gob. mx) (near Guadalajara) and the state of Sinaloa, perhaps best known for the port and resort city of Mazatlán (http://gomazatlan. com).

"Choosing Mexico seminars offer an education-first philosophy designed to dispel myths, demystify the process, and present a broad array of Mexico lifestyle and investment options to 'boomers' looking for sunny and affordable retirement areas, to second-home seekers, and to investors," Kilpatrick said.

In addition to the evening consumer seminars, Choosing Mexico is also organizing afternoon seminars for local Realtors so they can become better informed about helping their clients buy real estate in Mexico. The two series of seminars are the first in North America to provide objective information on living, retirement and purchasing real estate in Mexico, Kilpatrick noted.

Although co-sponsored by Windermere Realty Partners, the Realtor seminar is open to realtors from all companies. "The Mexico real estate market is exploding and many opportunities exist for the American buyer," according to John Tate, president of Windermere Realty Partners, which has opened a division specializing in marketing Mexican real estate to U. S. buyers, and is working with other Realtors to facilitate Mexico home sales.

Choosing Mexico will also provide information about long-term rentals for part-time living or retirement. "We know that some people will want to rent first in an area they like before they buy," Kilpatrick said. "There is a growing market for long-stay rentals in places like Puerto Vallarta, Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa, San Miguel de Allende, Manzanillo, Playa del Carmen, La Paz, Chapala and Merida." Kilpatrick also noted that on-going rental income for Mexico condo and home investors can help finance their purchase of a home in Mexico for their own future long stays or retirement.

Choosing Mexico estimates that up to 12 percent of the 78 million baby boomers - those born between 1946 and l964 - would seriously consider living in Mexico and buying Mexican real estate if properly educated about the country and benefits of living there. Choosing Mexico, will also provide on-line learning classes set to launch later in the year.

More information about the seminars can be obtained at www. choosingmexico. com. Choosing Mexico is a joint collaboration of several partners, including Kilpatrick, president of Solsierra Destinations, a 15-year-old specialty tour operator in Mexico, and Jane and Greg Custer, owners of Destination Ventures, a 17-year-old destination marketing and training company with focus on Mexico. Katie Meyer, a fourth partner with a strong technology background, has done extensive research regarding all aspects of foreigner residence in Mexico.

New Diet Book Hits Bestseller List Despite Breaking Typical Diet Rules

New Diet Book Hits Bestseller List Despite Breaking Typical Diet Rules

Lifestyle Center of America, a small yet passionate non-profit, quietly slips in the back door of an overcrowded diet book industry with the goal of changing the way Americans think about eating and dieting. The diet is simple, proven, easy to follow and sustainable. Missing is the usual depravation, complexity, special foods and social awakwardness that many demoralized dieters have come to associate with losing weight.

Sulphur, OK (PRWEB) March 2, 2010

The Full Plate Diet, a healthy eating guide developed by two physicians and a Ph. D. nutritionist (http://www. fullplatediet. org/authors/), is written in a fun to read, picture book format that doesn’t have the feel or sound of a medical textbook though it has the scientific backing of most local doctors. There’s no too good to be true hype, special products or supplements to buy. You can start at your next meal, can follow the diet imperfectly and still achieve results. Just watch how Joe did it. (http://www. fullplatediet. org/success-stories/)

Despite purposefully breaking with the tried and true, formulaic diet book template, The Full Plate Diet which debuted January 4th, 2010, has (to date) achieved thirty-nine appearances on top national book bestseller lists including: The New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal and Publishers Weekly.

The Full Plate Diet is based on a simple, powerful concept – the power of fiber-rich foods (http://www. fullplatediet. org/blog/). The foods are not weird, and are in fact all commonly found in your local grocery store. Ironically, most people simply don’t realize how important fiber-rich foods are in helping them lose weight and keep it off. The book shows readers the top 55 fiber-rich foods and how they can add these foods to the meals they’re already eating (http://www. fullplatediet. org/recipes/). Most diets are a quick-fix and each of them comes with a backlash. Because readers are making small changes it’s easier to stay on The Full Plate Diet.

“Fiber-rich foods are common and probably some of your favorites, you just need to eat more of them,” says Diana Fleming, Ph. D., L. D.N., co-author of the book. “Most fiber-rich foods fill you up and they’re lower in calories. Which means you can lose weight and not feel hungry. This way of eating is sustainable because generally when you focus on eating fiber rich foods, the calories, carbs and fat take care of themselves,” Fleming explains.

“Medical research supports fiber as a proven way to lose weight and stay healthy. Top professional associations like the Insitute of Medicine, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, American Dietetic Association recommend a high fiber diet, so what we’re talking about isn’t new or gimmicky,” Fleming continues.

The average American consumes 12 grams of fiber each day. The Full Plate Diet recommends 40 or more grams per day. “Starting The Full Plate Diet is easy” says co-author Teresa Sherard, M. D. “Let’s take a popular breakfast cereal like Corn Flakes; in one serving there is only one gram of fiber, hardly any. But take that same one cup serving and add one cup of raspberries or blackberries and that bowl of cereal is now loaded with 9 grams of fiber. Add a piece of 100% whole wheat bread with a tablespoon of peanut butter and a simple low fiber breakfast has turned into a whopping 13 grams of fiber. That’s more fiber than most Americans get all day long,” states Sherard.

“The average American is simply not eating enough fiber-rich foods to lose weight. Think about it...the diet encourages someone to eat more, not feel hungry and lose weight at the same time. Who wouldn’t enjoy a diet like that?” Dr. Fleming concludes.

Are you getting your 40 grams a day? Find out how much fiber you’ve eaten so far today by trying out the fiber calculator found at www. FullPlateDiet. org. (http://www. fullplatediet. org/fiber-calculator/)

Confirm BioSciences Launches At home drug test DrugConfirm New Urine Drug Test to Detect for 6 Major Drugs

Confirm BioSciences, a San Diego based provider of diagnostic drugs of abuse and health test kits announced the availability of DrugConfirm a FDA cleared revolutionary new instant home drug test kit.

San Diego (Vocus) June 12, 2009

Confirm BioSciences, a San Diego based provider of diagnostic drugs of abuse and health test kits announced the availability of DrugConfirm a FDA cleared revolutionary new instant home drug test (http://www. drugconfirm. com) kit.

DrugConfirm comes with a sleek innovative design and incorporates new Push Button Technology for highest accuracy. The test can be performed at home and gives results in approximately 4-7 minutes. The test detects for 6 different types of illegal drugs: Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, Methamphetamines, PCP, and Amphetamines. The DrugConfirm Home Drug Test will be available March 16, 2009, and will sell for under $23.99.

"There is tremendous need for this product, as drug abuse is a major issue in our society” said Zeynep Ilgaz President and CEO of Confirm BioSciences. This test will dramatically assist parents in deterring potential drug usage," she continued.

In 2006, 21% of 8th graders, 36% of 10th graders, and 48% of 12th graders reported having taken illicit drugs at some point, according to the annual Monitoring the Future survey of 50,000 students in those grades in more than 400 schools nationwide funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Today more and more parents have the ability to implement drug testing (http://www. drugconfirm. com/product_details. asp) policies within their households, helping deter their own children from becoming part of this statistic. DrugConfirm test results are instant, so parents can find out right away whether or not their loved ones are using. They also have the option to send the urine sample to the lab for a confirmation screening for extra validation.

Two-thirds of parents would ask their teenage son or daughter to take a home drug test as a means of keeping them away from drugs, according to a 2006 survey of 2,064 parents around the country by Washington, D. C.

Parents are the number one deterrent to a teen's decision to use drugs. Studies have shown that the average age of first drug use is 13; more than one-third of teens have used drugs, including almost one in six middle school students and 30% of their high school counterparts reporting marijuana use; and 13% of high school students report using drugs such as cocaine, crack or ecstasy.

“DrugConfirm is designed to help parents take a proactive role in preventing their children’s illegal drug use,” said Zeynep Ilgaz, CEO of Confirm BioSciences. “Talking with your child about drugs and taking preventive measures like drug testing can be a significant factor in preventing substance abuse.” she continued.

Confirm BioSciences has successfully developed and manufactured numerous screening tests including HairConfirm the first at home hair follicle drug test in the market and SteroidConfirm the first steroid test kit in the market. Confirm BioSciences distributes products in over 50 countries throughout the world under brand-name or private-label arrangements.

"We develop products that are accurate, cost effective and built to the highest standards of quality," said Serhat Pala, COO of Confirm BioSciences.

Matria Healthcare Deploys i-enroller for Their 2006 Open Enrollment and Saves Thousands of Dollars

The capacity of the i-enroller system provided a resource for a large employer group enabling them to save precious time and money in set-up costs to administer both an electronic and paper-based Open Enrollment tool.

Alpharetta, GA (PRWEB) July 10, 2006

After reviewing their 2006 Open Enrollment needs and budget, Matria Healthcare selected i-enroller as the enrollment system of choice for their 2,500 employees nationwide. By utilizing i-enroller, Matria was able to save precious time and thousands of dollars in set-up costs to administer their combination electronic and paper-based process. In addition, the capacity of i-enroller provided a resource for hosting benefit plan materials which were linked from the actual enrollment form, making them easily accessible to employees. As a result, of their 1,100 benefit eligible employees over 1,000 employees utilized the online version of i-enroller, while the remaining 100 employees in their manufacturing facility used the i-enroller integrated paper forms. Those paper forms were simply entered into the system giving Matria 100% electronic enrollment data. The data was then uploaded into Matria's HRIS system and ultimately fed to their carriers through the existing data feeds.

Inov8 Presents Further Evidence on the Reduction of Infection Rates in NHS Hospitals Using the AD (Air Disinfection) Technology

Inov8 Presents Further Evidence on the Reduction of Infection Rates in NHS Hospitals Using the AD (Air Disinfection) Technology

Inov8 has commissioned trials at several UK NHS hospitals, as well as overseas hospitals which show the effectiveness of the AD (Air Disinfection) technology against most microoganisms responsible for Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI).

(PRWeb UK) December 7, 2010

Inov8 Science Ltd, the wholly owned subsidiary of the AIM listed company Mid-States plc, participated in the 7th international conference of the Hospital Infection Society held in Liverpool during October 2010.

The conference takes place every four years and is recognised as the major international conference, focusing on infection prevention and control. It attracts leading world experts in healthcare associated infections as speakers and delegates.

Among the topics discussed was the increasing concern with the prevalence of superbugs such as MRSA, as well as other infectious microorganisms such as Clostridium difficile (C. diff) and Norovirus. Inov8 commissioned trials at several UK NHS hospitals, as well as overseas hospitals. These have shown the effectiveness of the AD (Air Disinfection) technology against most microoganisms responsible for Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI).

At the conference, Dr Abdel Ezbiri, Inov8’s Chief Scientific Officer presented evidence from trials at the London Royal Free Hospital, the Royal Worcester Hospital and the Redditch Alexandra Hospital. Explaining the results, Dr Ezbiri commented, “The evidence from the Royal Free Hospital clearly demonstrates that the AD can help to significantly reduce environmental surface TVCs and MRSA by up 22% and 83% respectively. In the cases of the Royal Worcester Hospital and the Redditch Alexandra Hospital, the AD not only helped to significantly reduce environmental air TVCs, but it also showed a good correlation between the TVC curve and patients’ infection rate curve for the same period.”

Attendees at the conference were impressed by the simplicity and efficacy of the Inov8 air disinfection system and how it helps to prevent the airborne spread of a wide range of viruses, bacteria and fungi. The AD provides continuous air disinfection with hydroxyl radicals at levels that mimic atmospheric concentrations which are harmless to humans but extremely effective against bacteria and viruses.

Inov8’s AD system is a winner in the 2009 Smart Solutions Programme for the UK NHS. The system is already in use in clinics and hospitals throughout the world. Inov8 continues to expand internationally through the appointment of specialist distributors.

For Earth Day 2010, Yoga Mats are Becoming More Earth-Friendly

For Earth Day 2010, Yoga Mats are Becoming More Earth-Friendly

On the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, many yoga retailers are now offering more eco-friendly yoga mats that use sustainable natural materials and fewer toxic chemicals, including Barefoot Yoga Company, based in Seattle.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) April 19, 2010

Yoga mats are one of the most basic tools for the millions of people who regularly practice yoga for their personal health. Yet, for years yoga mats were manufactured with Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) and other toxic materials that can be harmful to human health and to the environment.

Fortunately, on the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, many yoga supply manufacturers are now producing more eco-friendly yoga mats (http://www. barefootyoga. com/Search. bok? category=Eco-Friendly+Products:Eco+Yoga+Mats) that use sustainable natural materials and fewer toxic chemicals.

"One of the core principles of Yoga is respect for the balance of nature", says Barefoot Yoga Company founder and owner Kelly LeFebvre. "As a result, several years ago we realized that it was our responsibility to offer yoga practitioners more earth-friendly product alternatives."

Barefoot Yoga Company, based in Seattle, is an online yoga products retailer founded in 1998.

Among the most popular environmentally friendly products on Barefoot Yoga’s web site are a selection of Eco Yoga Mats made from natural jute fibers, sustainable rubber plants, or newer synthetic plastics that are PVC free.

Barefoot's Original Eco Yoga Mat (http://www. barefootyoga. com/Detail. bok? no=558) was rated the number one environmentally-friendly mat by the New York Times and by Martha Stewart’s Body + Soul magazine.

Barefoot Yoga also offers 100% Cotton Yoga Rugs, the original type of yoga mat first used in India.

Air Mattress By Natural Form Was Clinically Proven To Provide Pressure Point Relief & Promote Efficient Blood Circulation During Sleep

Air Mattress By Natural Form Was Clinically Proven To Provide Pressure Point Relief & Promote Efficient Blood Circulation During Sleep

Natural Form provides the Only Mattress Clinically Proven to Reduce Pressure Points, Which Improves Blood Circulation and The Overall Health and Wellness

Hoosick Falls, NY (PRWEB) March 19, 2010

You may be suffering in your sleep and not even know it. Many health problems are associated with not getting a good night’s rest, which can be a direct result of what you’re sleeping on. That’s why Natural Form’s mattress, recognized as the only mattress in today’s market that provides efficient blood circulation through a clinically proven, pressure-free system, is a leading choice for those dreaming of a restful sleep packed with numerous health benefits. Natural Form mattresses are designed with a Self-Adjusting Technology to create an environment of relaxation and comfort, deliver a deep sleep, and help the body improve blood circulation and recover while catching some Zzzs.

Among some of the wellness benefits of the Natural Form mattress:
Relief from inflammation and disease – Poor-quality sleep and lack of oxygen in human cells and tissue are the underlying causes of all inflammatory and chronic degenerative diseases like cancer, arthritis, and heart disease. The Natural Form mattress protects the body at a cellular level by facilitating oxygen-rich blood circulation, which enhances the immune system. Recapture the “fountain of youth” – As we age, our production of the Human Growth Hormone (HGH), which protects your immune system, decreases during sleeping. But the primary agent in the production of HGH is oxygen. A Natural Form mattress provides an oxygen-rich sleeping environment to trigger HGH production during sleep, which can lead to an improved lifespan. Correction of spinal and organ alignment – Bodies at rest on a Natural Form Sleep System® are supported in an anatomically correct position – a comfortable ¬position – which relaxes skeletal muscles and provides proper alignment for internal organs and the spine. No chance of dust mites – The average mattress is dust-mite infested within three years. But allergy-causing mites cannot live in a wool fiber. The Natural Form Sleep System® mattress uses natural, organic New Zealand wool – nature’s miracle fiber – to ward off dust mites and, thus, allergy attacks.

According to experts, a nightly healing environment is key to looking and feeling your best. The Natural Foam Mattress’ patented system of air intake and release valves allows silent release of air upon lying down. This supports the body and eliminates harmful pressure points. During sleep, the cylinders automatically readjust to every movement. “When you eliminate pressure, properly support the spine, and reduce body temperature, you have the best chance to have a great night’s sleep,” explains Chiropractor Bruce Deutsch. “The Natural Form is the only bed that I’ve found to do this.”

A Pair of New Books Tackles Two of Life's Top Stressors: Health and Finances, Obesity and Money

A Pair of New Books Tackles Two of Life's Top Stressors: Health and Finances, Obesity and Money

Two new books just published, How to Eat Healthy and Well for Less Than $5 a Day by Dr. Ilga Winicov Harrington (RoseDog Books) and The Low Fructose Approach to Weight Control by Dr. George A. Bray (Dorrance) focus on both healthy eating to lose and control weight and the cost of eating well.

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) November 3, 2009

Two new books just published, How to Eat Healthy and Well for Less Than $5 a Day by Dr. Ilga Winicov Harrington (RoseDog Books) and The Low Fructose Approach to Weight Control by Dr. George A. Bray (Dorrance) focus on both healthy eating to lose and control weight and the cost of eating well.

In How to Eat Healthy and Well for Less Than $5 a Day, Dr. Harrington stresses the importance of eating raw and whole foods, of developing meal plans, of purchasing seasonal foods, and of learning ways to shop intelligently and without waste. In this practical guide, the author offers up sample menus, recipes, and shopping lists to assist readers, armed with facts and information, on how to stretch scarce financial resources without risking health and nutrition.

Dr Harrington is a microbiologist who has worked in teaching and research throughout her long career. Her lifelong interest in food and nutrition has caused her to write this book, which is so relevant today given our current economic and health care crises.

Dr. George Bray has been researching obesity for forty years. While genes predispose individuals to weight gain and to resisting weight loss, people can and do succeed in controlling weight.

The Low Fructose Approach to Weight Control suggests that a major problem in obesity is the abundance of fructose in Americans' diets, particularly bad fructose. Bray separates good fructose, sweetness found naturally in fruits and vegetables, from bad fructose, found in highly refined and processed foods containing many calories and little nutrition. One problem is processed foods are cheap and convenient, and they appeal to the tastes we have cultivated. Processed foods, foods with corn syrup, and foods with more than 200 calories per serving then are to be avoided. And, as is recommended by Harrington, Bray advises individuals they should buy and prepare foods that are natural, raw, and whole.

Bray discusses pregnancy and diet; yo-yo dieting; craving carbohydrates; the importance of exercise; the new food pyramid; and behavior control in this ultimately both readable and exhaustive treatment on a subject he has devoted his career to understanding.

Dr. Bray's credentials include membership in the American Association of the History of Medicine, the American Society for Nutrition, the American Medical Association, and the American Federation for Medical Research, to name just a few. He is also widely published, in books and articles, on the topic of obesity including The Battle of the Bulge, A History of Obesity Research released in 2007 by Dorrance Publishing.

How to Eat Healthy and Well for Less Than $5 a Day, by Ilga Winicov Harrington (84 pages, paperback, ISBN 978-7-4349-9540-7, $13.00) is available from RoseDog Books (1-800-834-1803 and www. rosedogbookstore. com) The Low Fructose Approach to Weight Control by George A. ButYouDontLookSick. com Now Featuring Product Reviews for Those Dealing with Chronic Illness or Disability

With the product review section, ButYouDontLookSick. com is able to give the advertiser the chance to spread the word about their product, immediately at little cost. The reviews also help the reader, many of whom might be home bound from illness, to find unique products or services, not always sold in stores. The review gives them a personal point of view and helps them make an informed purchasing decision.

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 8, 2006

Butyoudontlooksick. com is a online magazine designed to supply information, resources and support to those with any chronic and often invisible illness. It was begun two years ago by Christine Miserandino, a Lupus patient and someone who understands the need for this Web site first hand.

In addition to the large directory of resources, tips, articles and personal essays, the site also features reviews on specific products and services that would be of particular interest to those suffering with any chronic illness.

ButYouDontLookSick. com began when Christine was in search of not just information on her own Lupus condition, but also the sharing and interactive support which is essential to those struggling with any medical condition. Christine was at first diagnosed with a myriad of illnesses - arthritis, Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and the list went on. Her initial research and base of interest was broad and continues to expand all the time.

The active ButYouDontLookSick. com message boards help the readers share what they think of certain reviewed items after they themselves have tried them.

Christine Miserandino has a constant hands on approach to her Web site and knows her readers well. She has walked in their shoes and when they write about their everyday frustrations in daily living with a chronic illness, Christine cannot only sympathize, but relate. This unique relationship with her readers puts her at an advantage to know what products they would benefit from. Because the majority of her readers are dealing with a chronic condition that causes them to be "home bound", many of the ButYouDontLookSick. com readers are frequent online shoppers. People living with chronic pain or limitations buy what we all buy and have the same wants as everyone else. Specific interests include accessible travel, beauty/health products, computing/ gadgets, daily living aids, medical supplies, spa or therapeutic products, and anything to make daily tasks easier.

Ms. Miserandino's plans for the site are growing every day. Her readership has tripled in the last year alone. She hopes that the product reviews will add even more drawing power to the site.

ButYouDontLookSick. com E - Magazine has been online since July 2003. ButYouDontLookSick. com is about living life to the fullest with any invisible disease and hopes to provide answers to the endless querie - "But you don't look sick?" The website features a collection of articles, essays, book and product reviews, with health resources and an active message board.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 8, 2010

Tuan N'Gai, civil rights activist, author, and founder of Silence Equals Consent (silenceequalsconsent. org), has announced an interfaith prayer vigil to be held in Lithonia, GA. Minister N'Gai plans to pray for the end of pedophilia and homophobia in the Black Church. The event will also honor the memories of the LGBT teenagers who recently took their own lives.

On November 13, 2010 at 12pm, the "Breaking the Silence So Healing Can Begin" vigil will be held at Willie A. Watkins Special Event Center, 5843 Redan Road, Lithonia, Georgia 30058.

"Over the past few weeks, six young people have ended their lives after being ostracized by the community, and four young men have spoken out against the abuse they allegedly endured at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. There are many more who feel hopeless so they are being silent. This is a call to action for the community. We need to pray, so healing can begin," N'Gai said.

Clergy, civil rights leaders, and social justice activists from across the country have been invited to speak and lead prayers. Confirmed speakers include Sheila O'Bannon (Writer of "The Prodigal" Stage Play), Elder Kevin E. Taylor (Unity Fellowship Church - New Brunswick, NJ), and Cleo Manago (Founder, AmASSI National Centers for Wellness and Health).

The Largest Collector of Karaoke Music and Equipment Makes A Holiday Party A Memorable Experience

The Largest Collector of Karaoke Music and Equipment Makes A Holiday Party A Memorable Experience

Karaoke is a healthy way of bringing family and friends together during the holidays. EXpressKaraoke offers one of the largest selections of karaoke songs, cds and music equipment. Mixing up a party with one of the largest collections of holiday music can help.

Encinitas, CA (PRWEB) November 9, 2005

John Bertrand is an authority on the Karaoke trend, which he has been following with fanatical fascination since 1983. “I’ve seen it evolve from a niche thing at smoky bars and bowling alleys, to a popular party activity in the average living room, as well as wedding receptions, fundraisers and especially holiday parties. In fact, I’ve heard many stories on how karaoke has been a great ice breaker for awkward family or company holiday parties.”

Karaoke used to be more of a professional trade, but the karaoke music and equipment has dropped in price so much that it is very affordable for anyone to become a KJs or karaoke disc jockey. “Our karaoke music system is our biggest seller, “said Bertrand. “It’s a combination DVD and CDG player that hooks up to your TV. It’s a great buy at our holiday special price of only [$99 and it comes with a microphone and free CDG].” http://www. expresskaraoke. com/store/product. asp? dept%5Fid=7&pf%5Fid=dvg380kThe (http://www. expresskaraoke. com/store/product. asp? dept%5Fid=7&pf%5Fid=dvg380kThe) other hot seller is the [VocoPro Duet] http://www. expresskaraoke. com/store/product. asp? dept%5Fid=8&pf%5Fid=DUET (http://www. expresskaraoke. com/store/product. asp? dept%5Fid=8&pf%5Fid=DUET). “The quality is great, it has the video component and it also records,” said Bertrand. The CDG format includes the background music with graphics and onscreen text prompts, visible when displayed on a karaoke player with screen or hooked up to a TV.

With over 22 years experience, two San Diego shops and an online store, eXpressKaraoke has established a reputation as one of the largest selection of karaoke CDGs. They offer over 75,000 karaoke songs from 75 different manufacturers. This includes over 1,900 Christmas CDs. “Our two biggest selling CDGs is a [40-song Christmas collection and a 100-song holiday compilation],” says John Bertrand. http://www. expresskaraoke. com/store/search. asp? t=bcd&cdid=TTXFP15http://www. expresskaraoke. com/store/search. asp? t=bcd&cdid=ESP462 (http://www. expresskaraoke. com/store/search. asp? t=bcd&cdid=TTXFP15http://www. expresskaraoke. com/store/search. asp? t=bcd&cdid=ESP462).

Popular holiday music comes in all styles. For the more traditional music listener, there are the Christmas tunes of Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley or Perry Como. The country music lovers will find Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Alabama holiday songs special. Christmas comedy is also evident with Jeff Foxworthy and Weird Al Yankovich songs. And the more contemporary, pop artists like Mariah Carey, Madonna and 50 Cent are available as well.

Karaoke, which began in Japan, literally means empty orchestra. Karaoke music traditionally has only background music with the vocals provided by the singer, who holds a microphone and follows the lyrics displayed on a screen. Karaoke reached worldwide popularity around 1990. Although it started as a fad, it has continued to grow in popularity. Since the prices have come down for karaoke music and karaoke systems and the availability has risen, it’s become more popular for holiday gifts and parties.

Professionals known as KJs (karaoke jockeys) buy karaoke CDGs and professional karaoke equipment from eXpress Karaoke on a regular basis. Most KJs invite singers to bring their own CDGs. KJs and the more experienced karaoke singers have their favorite labels. Each manufacturer tries to recreate the original performance, however, some are better quality than others.

Throughout the rest of the year, karaoke music and karaoke equipment are steady sellers for parties of all kinds. Karaoke singers enjoy entertaining at birthday parties, weddings, bridal parties, Thanksgiving and other special events. Many people invest in the karaoke equipment and save money on paying a professional performer for their celebration, while others buy the CDs and systems just for fun. The amateur vocalists enjoy making fools out of themselves in front of friends and family. Whatever the allure, everyone loves to be on stage and have their three minutes of fame.

“Karaoke is more than just music. What we offer are priceless memory-making moments that anyone can afford,” notes John Bertrand, owner of eXpressKaraoke. “We take care of our customers in every way possible,” said Bertrand. So whether for Christmas gifts or holiday entertaining, karaoke equipment and Christmas CDGs will be topping the charts. For an interactive party with family and friends, consider adding karaoke. For more information on eXpressKaraoke’s music and equipment visit www. eXpressKaraoke. com or visit our stores in San Diego, California area.

Bertrand can make for an excellent source for stories pertaining to Christmas music, pop music, and also for stories relating to the Karaoke trend. To arrange an interview, please call Brooke Schumacher at 619.994.5037.
