Shark Liver Oil

Immunity from the deep

Strengthens the immune system Beneficial for coughs, colds and influenza Recommended before, during and after radiation therapy

Immunity from the Deep

Sharks are the strongest and most invincible of all creatures in the ocean. Besides their outward physical attributes to protect themselves, nature provided these creatures from the deep with amazing immunity to ill health. They never get cancer or the common problems associated with humanity. The exciting news is that now their powerful resistance may be available to you.

Two Centuries Old

Norwegian fishermen in the 18th Century discovered that oil extracted from the liver of the deep water shark sped up skin tissue repair if applied to wounds. The fishermen filled stomach sacs of fish with the shark's liver oil and used it to alleviate respiratory tract infections. They also found through practical usage that the oil strengthened them, especially when taken after illness.

Exciting Discovery

By the early 19th Century, the use of shark liver oil had all but died out, apart from in a few isolated Scandinavian fishing communities. This valuable knowledge would have completely disappeared, had it not been for two Japanese scientists who, in 1922, discovered a lipid which differs from the usually fatty substances by the presence of a single atom of oxygen. They called these healing molecules alkoxyglycerols.

These molecules were synthesised in 1930 and then research into their versatile healing applications progressed rapidly. The technological advances of the 1940s and 1950s enabled the Swedish researchers, Hallgren and Larsson, to undertake extremely specific studies of shark liver oil in the 1960s1. The liver oil was found to contain extremely high concentrations of active alkoxyglycerols2,3 usually only found in mother's milk and bone marrow. Further scientific research was then undertaken over the next twenty years by other Swedish researchers.

Properties of Alkoxyglycerols

These eminent Swedish scientists made the exciting discoveries that shark liver oil, with its potent alkoxyglycerols:

activated and enhanced the body's lymphatic immune defence system by stimulating the formation of antibodies4 and increasing the number of white blood cells and thrombocytes in our blood.  diminished the harmful side-effects following radiation therapy by reducing leucopenia and thrombocytopenia (both of which invariably occur during the course of irradiation).5,6 The alkoxyglycerols neutralised and counteracted the detrimental changes in the blood cell ratio caused by treatment.

Lymphatic Immune Response

The lymphatic system plays an important role in the body's immune system by repelling harmful bacteria, fungi and viral invaders. It is one of the major lines of the body's defences against disease and could be likened to the pipes of the plumbing system in a building. Its vessels carry tissue fluid, called lymph, around the body. The lymph carries harmful substances from the tissues to be exterminated by the white blood cells in the lymph nodes, before the lymph is returned to the blood at the veins in the neck. The lymphatic nodes are small glands, situated in specific places in the body, which produce white blood cells. Some of these cells produce antibodies and others ingest the invading bacteria, thereby destroying it.

Radiation Therapy

In the course of these extensive studies, it was observed and recorded that alkoxyglycerols, if taken for a period prior to radiation therapy, had an inhibiting effect upon abnormal cellular reproduction7 and the results of these innovative discoveries were reported to the international scientific world at the First International Symposium on Ether Lipids in Oncology, held in Western Germany in 1986.

How Shark Liver Oil May Help You

It has been extensively researched and scientifically proven that the active alkoxyglycerols in shark liver oil have a definite healing application.

Indications for its use would appear to be:

Recurring infections.  Strengthening the immune system, particularly in chronic degenerative diseases.  Beneficial for coughs, colds and influenza.  Important for tissue repair, delayed wound healing and acne.  Recommended before, during and after radiation therapy.  Promotes healing and recovery of nervous system.  Normalises metabolism in diabetics.  Effective against viral hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver.  Has an analgesic and anaesthetising effect to neutralise pain. Topically, shark liver oil is a valuable deterrent in the fight against the symptoms of ageing and as an aid in the maintenance and integrity of the skin. It also helps to minimise the liver spots that accompany aging.

Nature's Benefit

Shark liver oil alkoxyglycerols are not an isolated example of health benefits from the ocean. The shark has, however, provided an exciting answer to some of mankind's pressing health problems with its potent, healing alkoxyglycerols.

Please note that shark liver oil products currently available are sourced from Scandinavia, where the sharks are fished for human consumption and pet food and are not fished exclusively for its oil.

Compeau-Fawkes Marketing Brings On Kenny West, Pioneer In Mobile Software Marketing, To Guide Developers Of Mobile Computing Solutions To Greater Success

Compeau-Fawkes Marketing Brings On Kenny West, Pioneer In Mobile Software Marketing, To Guide Developers Of Mobile Computing Solutions To Greater Success

Compeau-Fawkes Technology Marketing has added Kenny West to its consulting team.

PITTSBURG, PA (PRWEB) November 1, 2006

Compeau-Fawkes Technology Marketing (www. compeau-fawkes. com) has added Kenny West, founder and former CEO of PalmGear, Inc. (now a subsidiary of Motricity, Inc.), to its consulting team. West founded and built the PalmGear. com brand into one of the most successful online marketplaces for mobile software products, guiding it from start-up to $26MM in revenue and eventual acquisition of the majority interest in the company. As part of the Compeau-Fawkes team, Kenny brings immense value to the company’s technology clients in the mobile and wireless industry — whether at the strategic level or facilitating marketing and product decisions on the ground while navigating this fast changing segment.

“Success in this market today is no longer as easy as creating a neat piece of software and putting a simple store up on the ‘Net,'” says Michael Compeau, founder of Compeau-Fawkes. “There’s been a change in the balance of power as wireless carriers have taken control of their ‘on the deck’ offerings. Real success depends upon getting your solution in front of the right people that can help see the benefits of the solution, and who are in a position to put real wind in a developer’s sails — and that is based on having the right contacts in this small but dynamic industry.”

"Seeing the success that Compeau-Fawkes has been able to extend to the mobile community was a major draw for me,” said West. “In today's market having a great product is simply not enough, it must be a full circle proposition and this is where Compeau-Fawkes and I see eye-to-eye. Together, we will fulfill the needs of companies so that they can achieve their goals and beyond."

After nearly 20 years of experience in classical marketing, product development, technology marketing, product management, and business development, Michael Compeau formed his own consulting firm in the fall of 2003 with a focus on offering his expertise to technology firms seeking to get greater leverage in their marketplace. Along the way, his experience in the mobile software arena at firms like Cutting Edge Software and Mobility Electronics helped Compeau-Fawkes build a substantial client list, including work for Palmsource, Inc., Mobile Digital Media (now Quickoffice, Inc.), Mapopolis. com, SplashData (now part of SixApart) & iambic, Inc. Additionally, Compeau-Fawkes’ technology marketing services extend beyond mobile to many other technology sectors including IT, health care, life sciences, and material science, and include working with firms as diverse as Xerox, Biomatters Ltd, Tundra Materials, and SMBLive.

Pima Medical Institute Celebrates 35 Years in Healthcare Education

Pima Medical Institute Celebrates 35 Years in Healthcare Education

Pima Medical Institute, with campuses in Seattle and Renton, celebrate 35 years in healthcare education.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) October 31, 2007

In the same year that President Nixon made an unprecedented eight-day visit to China, M*A*S*H premiered on CBS and Carole King first sang You've Got A Friend, Pima Medical Institute first opened its doors. Thirty-five years later, Pima Medical Institute, with a campus in Seattle at 9709 Third Avenue NE, Suite 400 and 555 S. Renton Village Place in Renton, PMI has successfully placed thousands of men and women in careers in healthcare.

Founded by Richard Luebke Sr. and his wife, JoAnn, the privately-owned, career college opened its first campus in Tucson in 1972. The Seattle school has been in operation since 1989; the Renton campus opened its doors in 2004. In addition to these schools, PMI has campuses in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mesa and Tucson, AZ., Denver and Colorado Springs, CO; Las Vegas, NV and Chula Vista, CA.

Although initially PMI offered business related programs such as Grocery Checking, PBX Operator and Hotel Motel Management, Luebke Sr. was inundated with requests to train nursing aids and in 1973 he shifted the focus to healthcare. PMI began its first medical program and ran five classes at a time for nurses' aids and medical receptionists. More than three decades have passed, and careers in healthcare are still going strong.

Luebke started his career in education working for other school franchises. He earned a reputation as a "firefighter" - someone who was always cleaning up after someone else. He knew that if he could run things his way, he, and the students who came to his school, would be successful. Thirty-five years later, Pima Medical Institute has earned the reputation of being one of the top career colleges in the U. S.

"The secret to success is being right - run your business right, treat people right, and give your students their money's worth," said Luebke Sr. "Survival in the school industry can be brutal. Too many companies run their operation like it's a fast food franchise. It's more than "making the donuts" each day. It's personalized, it's family and it's loyalty to all. That's why Pima has survived."

The Seattle campus opened in 1989 and offers programs for Dental Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiography (Associate of Occupational Science), Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Technician.

PMI's newest campus in Renton opened in 2004. Its programs include: Dental Assistant; Medical Assistant; Medical Administrative Assistant; Pharmacy Technician; Phlebotomy Technician and Veterinary Assistant.

PMI is one of the premier medical career colleges in the western United States. The privately owned, accredited school provides students with a well-rounded education embracing theoretical classroom studies, as well as on-site training at medical facilities that mirror the working environment they will pursue after graduation.

Skin Allergies On The Rise' As Chemical-Intensive Garment Production Techniques Continue To Dominate The Market - Cottonique Has A Solution

Skin Allergies On The Rise' As Chemical-Intensive Garment Production Techniques Continue To Dominate The Market - Cottonique Has A Solution

A growing number of people are suffering in silence from rashes, itching and discomfort, caused by sensitivity to the chemical compounds and manufacturing techniques used in garment production. studies have shown the use of synthetic materials and chemical-reliant manufacturing processes are responsible in part for heightened skin sensitivity, and can bring out allergic reactions in people who may never have previously suffered any allergy to the clothes they wear or the materials they touch. Garment manufacturer Cottonique, recognizes the need for chemical-free and latex-free clothing for sensitive individuals and has developed a broad range of practical options for the market.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 8, 2009

Latex is the cause of one of the most prominent skin allergies, affecting some 6% of the US population. With a rise in the use of chemical compounds and chemical aided garment manufacturing techniques people who would have never thought to be allergic to latex are now finding themselves susceptible to this everyday material.

With garment manufacturing technologies moving forward rapidly the dependency on latex and other chemical-intensive synthetics is increasing, with a significant impact on those suffering from, or potentially susceptible to latex allergies and other skin disorders. While new technologies are cheap and efficient, they are dependent on potentially harmful chemicals in the manufacturing process.

As a result, a growing number of people are suffering in silence from rashes, itching and discomfort, caused by sensitivity to the chemical compounds and manufacturing techniques used in garment production.

Clinical studies have shown the use of synthetic materials and chemical-reliant manufacturing processes are responsible in part for heightened skin sensitivity, and can bring out allergic reactions in people who may never have previously suffered any allergy to the clothes they wear or the materials they touch.

Further, the use of formaldehyde in clothing production and other carcinogenic chemicals can lead not only to serious dermatitis, eczema and even coma in extreme circumstances, but can also contribute to the chances of contracting cancer through prolonged exposure.

Vinesh Genomal, Marketing VP for Cottonique believes the problem will continue to worsen as a growing percentage of garment manufacturing is outsourced for the lowest price at the cost of quality and public safety.

"The clothing industry is, by and large, concerned with continually cutting costs, and as a result, we have a situation where consumer safety takes a back seat in preference to the cheapest possible manufacturing techniques. Likewise, common dyes can be particularly damaging, and for most allergy sufferers, chemicals in the clothes they wear are at least in part responsible for their condition."

"Unfortunately, the situation is only going to continue to deteriorate over the coming years, leaving more and more individuals facing potentially life-changing reactions to these chemicals. At Cottonique, we're seeing a growing demand for our 100% natural organic garments, as the only way sufferers of these allergies can see an improvement in their condition, or prevent the onset of further reactions to everyday clothes dyes and chemicals. This looks to be a long term trend which has stemmed from modern awareness by public of the potential risks of these chemically aided garment manufacturing processes."

"We have seen a lot of demand come in from customers with contact dermatitis and multiple chemical sensitivity." says Vinesh "Our latex-free underwear and latex-free bras have been hit for latex and spandex allergy."

Cottonique is the only company that provides hypoallergenic garments in a wide range of styles to help those with skin allergies find comfortable clothing. Visit Cottonique (http://www. cottonique. com) to learn more about the company or browse and shop their complete range of products.

About:
Cottonique is a 100% organic cotton-clothing brand, delivering high quality garments for health and environmentally conscious consumers. Is Your New Car Hazardous to Your Health?

Is Your New Car Hazardous to Your Health?

A recent study shows that the prized new car smell is associated with a toxic cocktail of chemicals that may present significant health risks.

Schaumburg, IL (PRWEB) December 6, 2005

The seductive smell of a new car interior is unmistakable. Car buyers often associate the heady smell with feelings of pride and satisfaction. Unfortunately, that prized smell is the result of chemicals known as volatile organic compounds, or VOCs (http://www. mercola. com/2005/oct/15/ever_wondered_where_that_new_car_smell_comes_from. htm). And these fragrant fumes can make people sick.

Dr. Joseph Mercola (http://www. mercola. com/index. htm), a New York Times bestselling author and founder of Mercola. com (http://www. mercola. com/index. htm), the second most visted non-government health website (http://mercola. com/forms/rankings. htm) after WebMD, addressed this topic recently. He wonders why the American government and U. S. automakers aren’t taking this hazardous health issue (http://www. mercola. com/2005/oct/15/ever_wondered_where_that_new_car_smell_comes_from. htm) more seriously.

In one recent study by Australian researchers, 30 to 40 different new car VOCs were detected. These compounds carry tongue-twisting names like toluene, styrene, cyclohexanone, xylene, formaldehyde, and trimethylbenzene. VOCs are created from the outgassing of residual plastics, adhesives, sealants, paints, solvents and other chemicals used during the new car interior production process.

These nasty chemicals can cause headaches, nausea, drowsiness, confusion, and irritation of the eyes, nose and throat. They can particularly irritate those with chemical sensitivities. What’s worse, a number of VOCs — including styrene, formaldehyde, benzene, and cyclohexanone — are considered to be carcinogenic or cancer-causing substances. And xylene can be toxic to fetal development.

Although there is no direct evidence yet that the level of car VOCs could cause cancer, the fumes emitted in this toxic chemical cocktail can be several times the limit considered safe for homes or buildings.

Earlier this year, Japanese car manufacturers agreed to reduce the concentration of many of these chemical emissions, matching guidelines set for air quality in homes. This is the first time that automakers have adopted government guidelines on this issue. Japan’s top auto manufacturers — Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Mitsubishi — are starting to produce cars that comply with lower VOC levels and using this fact as an important selling point.

Dr. Mercola discussed this issue on his website (http://www. mercola. com/2005/oct/15/ever_wondered_where_that_new_car_smell_comes_from. htm) recently, stating: “It’s great that Japanese automakers are taking this initiative, and I hope the idea spreads.” Unfortunately, U. S. automakers haven’t paid much attention to car interior air quality — yet. Hopefully, decisive action by the Japanese manufacturers will spur more attention from their American and European competitors.

While the levels of VOCs can reach unhealthy concentrations in a closed vehicle when the outside temperature rises, the good news is that most of the VOCs found in new cars dissipate with time, usually about six months. Until that time, new car buyers should allow plenty of outside air in to dissipate the fumes by opening the window, turning on the air conditioner, opening the vents and keeping the door open when practical.

Dr. Mercola, a leader in the U. S. wellness movement, considers VOCs to be one of the ten most common toxins (http://www. mercola. com/2005/feb/19/common_toxins. htm) that everyone should be aware of. Unlike the odor of a new car, many of these toxins are things that people can’t smell, see or otherwise notice. However, with 77,000 chemicals produced in North America alone and the rising numbers of cancers, immune system disorders, neurological problems, and other major illnesses, the effects of these toxic substances (http://www. mercola. com/2004/sep/22/toxic_bucket. htm) deserve detailed study.

To review the other nine potentially dangerous toxins on Dr. Mercola’s list and learn how to protect themselves and their families from them, readers can go to Dr. Mercola's website (http://www. mercola. com/2005/feb/19/common_toxins. htm).

Conference Organisers Call for Written Assurances on Swine Flu Ingredients

Conference Organisers Call for Written Assurances on Swine Flu Ingredients

Alternative View team concerned that H1N1 shots alarmingly contain mercury derivatives (1), squalene (2) and nano-technology tagging (3)

Bristol, UK (PRWEB) October 5, 2009

Isolated stories in the mainstream media have called into question whether untested swine flu vaccines will cause more illness and deaths than by abstaining from the jabs (4). In addition, the Government's new taskforce, the JCVI, has been given the powers to effectively make the vaccinations mandatory in the UK population, regardless of issues such as vegetarianism (the vaccines are based on animal products), religious beliefs, or lack of trust in the safety of such enforced medication (5).

The hysteria being generated bears frightening similarities to the 1976 swine flu outbreak in the USA (6), a time in history remarkably absent from all commentary being made in the mainstream media, where more deaths were due to the vaccine rather than the flu itself.

Founder of the Alternative View conference, Ian R Crane, noted: "Whistle blowers are coming forward at an alarming rate to describe what the truth is behind these lethal and untried vaccines (7). Nearly half of the British medical profession has already declared they will NOT be taking the jab (8). This is all the evidence that the man in the street needs to make a decision whether to opt in or opt out of this extremely suspect Government-generated panic."

Also of much concern is that the American Government has declared that the pharmaceutical manufacturers behind the vaccines have been granted immunity from prosecution by those taking the vaccines (9), should it become the case that legal action is attempted against them if people are crippled or killed from taking their flu shots. In the UK, assurances are also being sought that individual human rights will not be compromised by any move towards mandatory vaccination, as has been legislated for in the States of Massachusetts and Oklahoma in the USA (10).

Mr Crane concluded: "If the UK Government is so sure of its facts, then we call upon the Secretary of State for Health, Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP, to go on record and specifically declare that none of the alleged ingredients, to be named one by one in writing within his response, are present in the vaccines. Should the worst then happen and such additives are not only found but also lead to human harm, then litigants will have a specific person to register their legal actions against. The time for pontificating is over, let's see the man in charge put his future 'on the line', just as he is expecting those who take the vaccine to do."

The background to swine flu will be one of the topics covered by speakers at November's "Alternative View 3" (http://www. av111.co. uk (http://www. av111.co. uk)) conference in Bristol, which anyone is welcome to attend (11).

Notes to Editors:

(1). 'Thimerosal is a mercury-containing organic compound (an organomercurial). Since the 1930s, it has been widely used as a preservative in a number of biological and drug products, including many vaccines, to help prevent potentially life threatening contamination with harmful microbes. Over the past several years, because of an increasing awareness of the theoretical potential for neurotoxicity of even low levels of organomercurials and because of the increased number of thimerosal containing vaccines that had been added to the infant immunization schedule, concerns about the use of thimerosal in vaccines and other products have been raised. Indeed, because of these concerns, the Food and Drug Administration has worked with, and continues to work with, vaccine manufacturers to reduce or eliminate thimerosal from vaccines. Thimerosal has been removed from or reduced to trace amounts in all vaccines routinely recommended for children 6 years of age and younger, with the exception of inactivated influenza vaccine.'

(2). 'Oil-based vaccination adjuvants like squalene have been proved to generate concentrated, unremitting immune responses over long periods of time according to a 2000 article in The American Journal of Pathology. A 2000 study published in the American Journal of Pathology demonstrated a single injection of the adjuvant squalene into rats triggered "chronic, immune-mediated joint-specific inflammation," also known as rheumatoid arthritis. The researchers concluded the study raised questions about the role of adjuvants in chronic inflammatory diseases.'

Further research: http://www. whale. to/vaccine/west_edda. html (http://www. whale. to/vaccine/west_edda. html)

Incidentally, the USA is not approving any vaccines containing adjuvants, yet the UK Health Authority has already given approval to an adjuvant H1N1 vaccine.

(3). 'Vaccines which have been approved by the responsible government authorities for vaccination against the alleged H1N1 Influenza-A Swine Flu have been found to contain nanoparticles. Vaccine makers have been experimenting with nanoparticles as a way to "turbo charge" vaccines for several years. Now it has come out that the vaccines approved for use in Germany and other European countries contain nanoparticles in a form that reportedly attacks healthy cells and can be deadly.'

(4). A few weeks ago a British mother was threatened with her daughter being taken into care for daring to suggest that her 13 year-old daughter's partial paralysis was related to the HPV vaccination; on Wednesday 30 September it was reported that Natalie Morton, a 14 year old girl from Coventry has died, most probably as a direct result of being vaccinated with Ceravix, the cervical cancer vaccine produced by Glaxo-Smith-Kline. GSK is making millions out of this vaccination programme thanks to Paul Blackburn, the Senior vice-president and Financial Controller of Glaxo-Smith-Kline, who was a member of the OFSTED board when the decision was taken to commence the HPV vaccination programme. How many more teenage girls and their respective families will have to suffer for the sake of Big Pharma's profitability?

'Czech newspapers are questioning if the shocking discovery of vaccines contaminated with the deadly avian flu virus which were distributed to 18 countries by the American company Baxter were part of a conspiracy to provoke a pandemic. The claim holds weight because, according to the very laboratory protocols that are routine for vaccine makers, mixing a live virus biological weapon with vaccine material by accident is virtually impossible.'

A warning that the new swine flu jab is linked to a deadly nerve disease has been sent by the Government to senior neurologists in a confidential letter. The letter from the Health Protection Agency, the official body that oversees public health, has been leaked to The Mail on Sunday, leading to demands to know why the information has not been given to the public before the vaccination of millions of people, including children, begins. It tells the neurologists that they must be alert for an increase in a brain disorder called Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), which could be triggered by the vaccine. GBS attacks the lining of the nerves, causing paralysis and inability to breathe, and can be fatal.

The letter, sent to about 600 neurologists on July 29, is the first sign that there is concern at the highest levels that the vaccine itself could cause serious complications. It refers to the use of a similar swine flu vaccine in the United States in 1976 when:
More people died from the vaccination than from swine flu. 500 cases of GBS were detected. The vaccine may have increased the risk of contracting GBS by eight times. The vaccine was withdrawn after just ten weeks when the link with GBS became clear. The US Government was forced to pay out millions of dollars to those affected.' http://www. dailymail. co. uk/news/article-1206807/Swine-flu-jab-link-killer-nerve-disease-Leaked-letter-reveals-concern-neurologists-25-deaths-America. html (http://www. dailymail. co. uk/news/article-1206807/Swine-flu-jab-link-killer-nerve-disease-Leaked-letter-reveals-concern-neurologists-25-deaths-America. html)

(5). 'The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) have taken over the control of the UK vaccination schedule and now have the power to bring in new vaccines without government approval even if they haven't been safety tested. Prior to this, all new vaccines would have to pass through parliament and be voted on before they were introduced. Now the government is compelled to agree with anything JCVI say, even if there is no science to back it up. JCVI are also exploring whether to get a 'guardian of the state' for all unvaccinated children and sue their parents to FORCE them to vaccinate - this means that vegetarians will be forced to take animal products via vaccines, people will be forced to be injected with cancer-causing chemicals and those people who have already had vaccine reactions and disabilities will have their lives put at risk.'
Http://www. vaccineriskawareness. com/Vaccination-And-Your-Legal-Rights (http://www. vaccineriskawareness. com/Vaccination-And-Your-Legal-Rights)

(6). 'The last time the government embarked on a major vaccine campaign against a new swine flu, in 1976, thousands filed claims contending they suffered side effects from the shots. This time, the government has already taken steps to head that off. Vaccine makers and federal officials will be immune from lawsuits that result from any new swine flu vaccine, under a document signed by Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, government health officials said.'
Http://www. clickondetroit. com/health/20088640/detail. html (http://www. clickondetroit. com/health/20088640/detail. html)

(7) 'An unpublished scientific study is raising questions about whether getting a seasonal flu shot raises the risk of contracting H1N1, but the evidence is unconfirmed and few have actually read the report. "It appears to be that for people who got seasonal influenza vaccine last year, they were at greater risk of getting H1N1 disease this year," said Dr. Donald Low, an infectious diseases expert at Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital.'

(8) 'Up to half of family doctors do not want to be vaccinated against swine flu. GPs will be first in the line for the jabs when they become available but many will decline, even though they will be offering the vaccine to their patients.'

'Only a third of nurses have said they are willing to have the vaccine against swine flu amid fears it has not been tested enough, a survey has found.'

(9) 'Taxpayers could face a multi-million-pound compensation bill if patients suffer side effects from the swine flu vaccine. The Sunday Post has learned that the UK government has granted legal immunity to the makers of the controversial jab.'

(10) 'WHO [World Health Organisation] 'recommends' global mandatory vaccination, Canada prepares. In the United States, both Massachusetts and Oklahoma have recently enacted mandatory vaccination laws, and people have uncovered documents from Minnesota, Iowa and Florida suggesting that similar plans exist. It looks very much like the U. S. will force-vaccinate its entire population. … We wish to clarify what is meant by "mandatory" in this story. Under the International Health Regulations, when the WHO has declared an "international health emergency" - which is what happened with the declaration of a 'pandemic' - then the core response mechanisms of the IHR become binding on all member states, meaning essentially it invokes each nation's pandemic plan. Although core response is now mandatory for member states, this only means that they are obligated to vaccinate their entire populations, but how that will be done, or even if it will be done, remains to be seen.'

'BOSTON - Mandatory vaccinations, home searches without a warrant and forced quarantine for those who resist. Critics of a pandemic preparedness bill pending in the Legislature say it would allow all those things and sets the stage for a medical police state where any response to an epidemic of flu or other illness has the potential to steamroll civil liberties.'

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 9, 2009

The Center for Disease Control, along with several other international health organizations, have officially included the use of hand sanitizers to ensure good health habits during flu season¹. Allergic to commercial hand sanitizers or find them too drying? Look no further... gentle, moisturizing germ-free relief is a squeeze away with Jao Hand Refresher™.

Commuters, holiday travelers, teachers, doctors, nurses, moms, office employees, and others can defend themselves against germs, viruses, and the common flu with a bottle of Jao Hand Refresher. Recently featured in Health, Self, Allure, Elle, and Travel & Leisure magazines, Jao Hand Refresher is the first "upscale" antibacterial. Its specially crafted formula is an instant disinfectant and aromatherapy boost in one. Jao Hand Refresher kills germs and freshens hands with ethyl alcohol (less drying than conventional hand sanitizers) and a blend of antiseptic essential oils, including lavender, tea tree, eucalyptus, geranium, and sage.

Jao Hand Refresher is 100% Triclosan-free. Triclosan is frequently found in commercial antibacterial soaps and lotions; this synthetic bacteriostat is a marine pollutant and controversial for its ability to give rise to bacteria that can become resistant. Jao Hand Refresher is also free from propylene glycol, parabens, and isopropyl alcohol. Gale Mayron, Jao Ltd.’s CEO and Founder, had a particular goal in mind when developing the formula for Jao Hand Refresher.

“We wanted to make a high quality hand sanitizer with natural ingredients that was less drying and chemical smelling, yet as effective,” said Mayron.

The product’s germ killing efficacy was tested against seven of the most likely hand contaminants, specifically: Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Candida albicans, Salmonella choleraseous, and Streptococcus pneumoniae.
In all cases, the "kill rate" was less than one minute.

Panama Real Estate Report Reveals Secrets For Retiring to Panama

Panama Real Estate Report Reveals Secrets For Retiring to Panama

The tropical Republic of Panama has experienced unbridled growth in 2007 with a booming economy, nascent real estate market, and emerging pull for eco-tourism. But beyond the financial and leisure rewards, The Panama Real Estate Report reveals how travelers and investors are finding more, less-publicized allures.

Panama City, Panama (PRWEB) May 8, 2008

Retirement used to be a concept characterized by lazy afternoons in a rocking chair and the delicate planting of lilies and daffodils in the front yard. It was, for many of yester-year, an end-all-be-all: the closing reward. The face of arthritis commercials on TV. But in the latest Panama Real Estate Report, retirement to Panama is redefined.

"It's an outdated concept from the early Industrial Revolution," claims retirement naysayer Tony Rush. It goes back to when "employers told laborers, 'Hey, if you'll work for me for 40 hours a week for 40 years...then you can quit and get a gold watch and a pension." It didn't work then, and it doesn't work now.

Today's perception of retirement seems to be a vast gulf adrift from the traditional sense of the word, with more and more middle-aged individuals not only "retiring" earlier but also using their so-called retirement as a platform to start dream businesses, recoil to paradise destinations, and dedicate to passionate pastimes. Panama, outside the walls of its commerce and banking fortress, is emerging as the ultimate spot for today's new-age retirees to come down and start again.

And no one even said age had to play a factor. Foreigners "retiring" to Panama are getting younger and younger, drawn like gold rushers, to the Republic's strong infrastructure, great climate, and stunningly untapped natural resources. To these trend-setters, investing in Panama a lifestyle change more than anything else.

Following a study by Natwest and the Centre for Future Studies of the UK, "87 percent of residents find life overseas to be better than they had anticipated, 68 per cent consider themselves healthier and 81 percent report a greater sense of wellbeing."

Landing dream jobs and turning knowledge or passion into ideal work is a less-publicized yet extremely attractive selling point of Panama as well, mostly to new-age retirees who tend to value quality of life and self-fulfilment above anything else. The market voids, from food to travel to non-profit organizations, according to experts are simply desperate for the filling.

According to Matt Landau, quoted in NuWire Investor and the author of The Panama Real Estate Report (http://www. thepanamareport. com/real-estate-report/panama-real-estate-report-439.html (http://www. thepanamareport. com/real-estate-report/panama-real-estate-report-439.html)), "The real draw to Panama is not its cheap beachfront condos or City nightlife." Landau reveals in his $99 report how business opportunities of all sizes and shapes for foreigners are ubiquitous. "It's a deeper, more emotional sense of fulfillment than just investing--in spending one's days doing what they love -- that's really at the heart, no pun intended, of relocating to Panama."

While some might consider relocating to Panama to be a detour rather than a new path, other experts claim that same detour just might be the new path.

Whether it's founding their own yoga studio, starting a pool cleaning service, or opening a small bed and breakfast, industry experts like Joel Garfinkle say the main catalyst is deciding and focusing on how to go after what one finds fulfilling in their life. Career changes seem to be to simple and too limiting, whereas the process of moving to Panama is the ultimate stepping stone mechanism for the future. For many, Panama is the perfect canvas on which to paint a new sense fulfillment.

Panama is a nation that plays to both the strengths and weaknesses of new-age retirees looking to start anew. It's a comfortable tropical destination, full of culture, wildlife, and development, where retiring to one's dream lifestyle is very much up for interpretation.

Actress and New York Times #1 Bestselling Author, Suzanne Somers, to be Interviewed on VoiceAmericaTM's Flagship Channel

Actress and New York Times #1 bestselling author, Suzanne Somers, to be interviewed on VoiceAmericaTM's flagship channel.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) February 9, 2007

Broadcasting live on Tuesday, February 13 at 7 a. m. Pacific (10 a. m. Eastern), Suzanne Somers, actress and New York Times #1 Bestselling Author, will be interviewed by host, Dr. Pat Baccili, on her internet talk radio show "The Dr. Pat Show - Talk Radio To Thrive By" on the VoiceAmerica Channel (http://www. voice. voiceamerica. com (http://www. voice. voiceamerica. com)).

This informative interview covers her follow up to the blockbuster New York Times bestseller "The Sexy Years"; "Ageless: The Naked Truth About Bioidentical Hormones". She shares the remarkable results of her research in anti-aging medicine and exploring ways which we can live up to our body's age-defying potential. For much of her life, Suzanne Somers relied on antibiotics to cure her seasonal ills. With her busy and demanding touring schedule, she would turn to medications when her body wanted to be tucked in bed but she needed to be onstage - until she found herself caught in a vicious cycle of infections and antibiotics. Now, Suzanne is more vigorous and vibrant than ever before. This show highlights this new branch of medicine - one that strengthens the immune system as opposed to traditional medicine which depletes its natural resilience - helped her break free from an unhealthy reliance on medications; a reliance that prevents most of us from feeling our best.

CURTIS COOKS! - A PERSONAL CHEF SERVICE IS NOW COOKING UP DINNER FOR YOU IN FREDERICK, MARYLAND!

CURTIS COOKS! - A PERSONAL CHEF SERVICE IS NOW COOKING UP DINNER FOR YOU IN FREDERICK, MARYLAND!

Curtis Cooks! Personal Chef Service prepares several customized meals in your home to your exact tastes for you to enjoy that night or later at your leisure. Meals are "palate specific" to your diet, medical requirements, or just to your tastes.

(PRWEB) December 11, 2002

Curtis Cooks!, a customized in-home personal chef service, is now available for busy families and singles in the Frederick area. Curtis Cooks! is owned and operated by A. Curtis Guyer and offers ‘palate-specific’ personal meals cooked from fresh ingredients in the privacy of your home.

“With so many households in Frederick where both people work and often commute ‘down the road’, grocery shopping, meal planning, and preparation become an extra burden for them. Frozen entrees and take-out food, while convenient, are loaded with salt and preservatives“, says Curtis. “You may save some time, but your family’s health and well-being suffer in the long run.”

Clients appreciate the service. Explains Chef Curtis, "It gives them precious time together at the end of a busy day. No shopping. . . no cooking. . . no cleaning up. It’s an affordable convenience they can’t live without. For a family of four, when they add up the fast-food, restaurant, and grocery bills and compare that to the cost of a personal chef, the expense is often less for the personal chef. And they have the benefit of the time saved while enjoying freshly prepared meals in their own homes.”

Curtis meets with each client to determine his or her specific dietary needs. Then menus are agreed upon and a cooking day is selected. “I shop for all the food, come into the client’s home, and cook about 20 complete servings from 5 entrees. Then I fresh freeze them and clean everything up. I leave nothing behind but the aromas of freshly prepared meals,” says Curtis.

Curtis Cooks! Serves Frederick and other surrounding counties in Maryland, as well as Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Chef Curtis is a member of the American Personal Chef Association (APCA) and can be contacted at 301-663-9351 or at www. curtiscooks. com. For more industry information on the APCA, call 1-800-644-8389 or visit www. personalchef. com

Bower & Co. Offers Nonprofit Leaders Three Special Reports Filled With Smart Strategies for Tough Times

Bower & Co. Offers Nonprofit Leaders Three Special Reports Filled With Smart Strategies for Tough Times

Nonprofit companies can improve their efforts and revenue generation with three new special reports issued by Bower & Co., a leader in marketing, events and corporate sponsorship development.

Philadelphia, PA (Vocus) January 13, 2009

As the economy sinks and stress levels soar, the nation's nonprofit organizations have their work cut out for them in 2009. To help nonprofit leaders gain solid footing, at least in the areas of awareness and revenue generation, Bower & Co. Consulting LLC, specialists in marketing, events, and corporate sponsorship development, issued three special reports that are available free on its web site, GailBower. com (http://www. GailBower. com).

"These unprecedented circumstances and the non-stop news coverage of it all are disconcerting and distracting," said Gail S. Bower, president of Bower & Co. "A natural reaction is to batten the hatches and wait for calmer times. However, a smarter strategy, one directly counter to that fight or flight instinct, is to use this time to become stronger and provide greater value."

The special reports offer tips and techniques to do just that. In the special report on marketing, called "The Sky is Not Falling; Seize the Moment," available at http://www. gailbower. com/pages/marketing_report. php (http://www. gailbower. com/pages/marketing_report. php), Bower encourages readers to understand constituent needs, offer new services or programs, and evaluate and try new marketing techniques.

The special report on events, entitled "Producing Events During Down Times:
Dos and Don'ts" and found at http://www. gailbower. com/pages/events_report. php (http://www. gailbower. com/pages/events_report. php), points out that bringing your cause's community together for an event may be more important now than ever. It also offers suggestions on improving the event itself and on spending event dollars effectively.

Finally, in "Six Tips for Sponsorship Selling in Turbulent Times," at http://www. gailbower. com/pages/sponsorship_report. php (http://www. gailbower. com/pages/sponsorship_report. php), Bower offers positive and realistic suggestions for working with corporate partners.

"It's easy to be successful developing marketing programs, producing events, and securing corporate sponsorship when the economy soars," said Bower. "Now that times are tougher, strong leadership and a healthy dose of creativity are critical."

Visitors to Bower & Co.'s site who download the report from the home page also will receive the firm's complimentary quarterly digital newsletter, BowerPower Papers.

Dartware, developer of InterMapper™ network monitoring and mapping software, has announced and technology partnership with Inscape Data, makers of outdoor IEEE 802.11 AirEther™ Wireless Systems and AirGoggle™ Video Security Systems products.

Hanover, NH (PRWEB) June 27, 2007

Technology sharing will facilitate the creation of Inscape Data equipment probes that allow InterMapper to report on network performance and traffic with greater accuracy and detail.

"The vendor-specific probes we added in InterMapper 4.X make it extremely easy for network managers to keep tabs on their mission-critical Inscape Data systems," explains Rich Brown, Dartware CEO. "The Inscape Data probes return data on this, that, and the other thing giving technicians the information they need to tune equipment and connections before users report problems."

Wireless providers use InterMapper network management tools (http://dartware. com/network_management_solutions/index. html? refer=hmg_prweb_inscape) maps and reports to proactively see and fix network problems associated with weather, power outages and restoration, virus outbreaks, and equipment. Mapped problem origination allows efficient dispatch of technicians. Detailed data describing poor performance or traffic increases shorten time to fix.

"System integrators, governments, and schools rely on Inscape Data equipment -- hotspots, base stations, routers, bridges, backhauls, and antennas -- for data, voice, and video communications," says David D. Lin, President of Inscape Data. "We build reliability into our wireless networking and video surveillance equipment and want to be sure our customers have all the tools they need to stay ahead of day-to-day, minute-to-minute issues."

IKEA Raises Over $35 Million Dollars From Soft Toy Campaign

IKEA Raises Over $35 Million Dollars From Soft Toy Campaign

IKEA Holiday Soft Toy Sales Support Global UNICEF And Save the Children Educational Programs. Since 2003, The Program Has Impacted Lives of 8 Million Children in Developing Countries Worldwide.

Conshohocken, PA (PRWEB) March 3, 2010

No one can dispute. Every child should be given the opportunity to have a good education. It’s their future. Our future. It’s a child’s right. Yet everyday, millions of children around the world don’t have access to a quality education. It could be lack of materials, quality trained teachers, disabilities; the reasons are long and complex.

IKEA believes children are the most important people in the world. And every year, during holiday shopping time, IKEA reaches out to its customers to give back through the sale of their soft toy sales campaign titled One euro is a fortune. For every IKEA Soft Toy sold between November 1 - December 24, 1 euro (approximately $1.47 US dollar)* goes to IKEA global partners UNICEF and Save the Children to support children’s educational needs in developing areas such as Asia, Africa, China, Viet Nam and many others.

Since the program inception in 2003, IKEA has raised over $35 million US dollars globally from in-store IKEA soft toy sales (November 1 – December 24th) and contributed to improving education for approximately 8 million children in more than 30 countries. The past 2009 year campaign raised over $10 million dollars, a record high in past donations. The Soft Toy campaign is driven by the IKEA Social Initiative; a commitment to developing communities with the mission to improve children’s rights and opportunities.

“IKEA has been a key partner of UNICEF for many years, contributing to our programs to save and improve the lives of children worldwide,” said President and CEO of the U. S. Fund for UNICEF Caryl Stern. “With the help of record high donations this past year, we continue to promote the rights of every child to a healthy, secure childhood and access to quality education. UNICEF is proud to have a strong corporate partner with a deep commitment to social responsibility and direct engagement with issues affecting children and we hope this important partnership stays strong for many years to come.”

Save the Children will use the 2009 donation for the following programs; in Russia to combat discrimination of disabled children, in Albania to improve learning for children at risk of exploitation and trafficking, in Vietnam to increase access to quality basic education for disadvantaged children, and in Bangladesh to improve educational services for children of indigenous groups.

“We are very grateful to IKEA for their generous support, which has enabled us to provide quality education to children living in some of the poorest, most remote communities in the world,” said Charlie MacCormack, President and CEO of Save the Children. “Through our partnership, we have been able to reach thousands of young people who would otherwise have little opportunity to learn and develop the skills they need for the future.”

Through the commitment of IKEA customers, IKEA has been able to increase its support to UNICEF and Save the Children each year, making a substantial impact on improving the education of millions of children. Additionally, IKEA remains the largest global corporate donor to UNICEF with donations exceeding $180 million dollars.

*With each purchase, between November 1 – December 24, approximately 1 euro is split between UNICEF and Save the Children’s educational programs.

About IKEA: IKEA places great value on life at home. Since its 1943 founding in Sweden, IKEA has offered home furnishings and accessories of good design and functional living solutions at prices so low that the majority of the people can afford them. IKEA has six distribution centers in North America, with a manufacturing facility in Danville, VA. IKEA has been named to BusinessWeek’s List of The Best Global Brands (August 7, 2006) and for four consecutive years, Working Mother magazine’s annual list of the “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers.” IKEA was listed in March 2007, on Fast Company’s Fast 50, for its environmentally responsible products, as well as five consecutive years, Training magazine’s annual list of top companies that excel at human capital development. IKEA incorporates environmentally friendly efforts into day-to-day business and continuously supports initiatives that benefit causes such as children and the environment including UNICEF, Save the Children and American Forests. About UNICEF: UNICEF has saved more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization in the world. Working in over 150 countries, UNICEF provides children with health care, clean water, nutrition, education, emergency relief, and more. The U. S. Fund for UNICEF supports UNICEF’s work through fundraising, advocacy, and education in the United States. UNICEF is at the forefront of efforts to reduce child mortality worldwide. There has been substantial progress—the annual number of under-five deaths dropped from 13 million in 1990 to 8.8 million in 2008. But still, 24,000 children die each day from preventable causes. Our mission is to do whatever it takes to make that number zero by giving children the essentials for a safe and healthy childhood. For more information, visit www. unicefusa. org.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 8, 2009

Guests including board members, donors, partners and friends gathered at MediSend International's Global Education Center to attend a graduation ceremony honoring ten biomedical repair trainees from African hospitals on Saturday, June 20th. Trainees from Liberia, Chad, Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria have now returned home after completing the 2009 Spring-Summer Biomedical Repair Training Program. MediSend's intensive, outcomes-oriented, six-month Biomedical Repair Training Program is the first such program to train BMET technicians for developing country hospitals.

"We are going home with the ability to improve conditions in our countries," said Gabriel Akuboh from Nigeria who spoke on behalf of the trainees, "We will carry on MediSend's mission of sending hope and saving lives."

ExxonMobil funded the program for the trainees from Chad, Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria. The students from Liberia were sponsored by the Zoe-Geh Foundation.

Containing over 4000 laboratory repair tools, supply items and state-of-the-art test and calibration equipment essential to the repair and maintenance of biomedical equipment, the kit is the foundation for a modern biomedical repair laboratory, and has the capacity to repair and maintain approximately eighty percent of all basic biomedical equipment used in a developing hospital system.

"This is the third year that we have trained qualified biomedical repair technicians at MediSend International.
