Derby, CT (PRWEB) November 30, 2005

Susan. B. Frampton, Ph. D., President of Planetree, has been invited to participate as Chairman at The World Congress Leadership Summit on Redesigning Patient Care to Maximize Margins and Improve Quality, co-sponsored by The Wall Street Journal, to be held January 16-17, 2006 in Orlando, Florida.

World Congress Leadership Summits are designed to expand on topics previously discussed at invitation-only summits during the World Health Care Congress. This series offers new perspectives on established methodologies, and details solutions to foster innovation and change.

The 1st Annual World Congress Leadership Summit on Redesigning Patient Care to Maximize Margins and Improve Quality will convene health system, hospital, and provider group practice executives to develop operational strategies that will improve the quality of care delivery, create a patient-focused environment, and improve financial sustainability. The conference program is intended to feature executives who will share the challenges of leading clinical care in times of tumultuous change, and foster practical strategies for organizational transformation. Please find attached a draft agenda for your perusal.

As Chairman, Frampton will provide guidance and suggestions on the program agenda, and, via opening remarks, set the stage for the conference by providing a context with which to move forward in the dialogue created at the conference. Frampton will also introduce each presenter, facilitate discussions, provide comments throughout the day, and summarize the experiences and points discussed during the event via closing remarks.

As the President of Planetree, a non-profit organization, Frampton works with a growing alliance of hospitals and health centers around the country and in Europe that have implemented Planetree’s unique patient-centered model of care. Prior to her work with Planetree, she spent over twenty years at several hospitals in the New England area. Her work focused on community education, wellness and prevention, planning, and development of integrative medicine service lines.

Frampton received both masters and doctoral degrees in medical anthropology from the University of Connecticut, and has numerous publications, including the edited collection “Putting Patients First” (Jossey-Bass Publishing, 2003) which won the ACHE Hamilton Book of the Year Award in 2004, chapters in Integrating Complementary Medicine Into Health Systems, (Aspen, 2001) and articles and interviews in Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (2004), AHA News (2003), Modern Healthcare (2002), and Hospitals and Health Networks (2002).
