Lake Forest, IL (Vocus) September 23, 2010

Scribe Healthcare Technologies, Inc., announced the launch of its new mobile dictation (http://www. scribe. com/dictsolutions. aspx) app, Scribe Mobile. Scribe Mobile is initially available for the iPhone, iTouch, and iPad. Scribe Mobile is a leap ahead for those who prefer dictation via a mobile device. Scribe Mobile offers dictators the ability to:

Dictate on the go  Transfer voice files via 3G or WIFI  View physician’s schedule  Specify file priority  Select template  Track pending dictations

Scribe Mobile (http://www. scribe. com/dictsolutions. aspx) is easy to use. Simply open the app, select the patient and dictate. Rewind, playback, fast-forward, and insert additional dictation are included. Files can be transferred immediately without tethering the device or queue them for transfer later. After transfer Scribe Mobile provides a unique dictation id for tracking. Voice files are stored on the device for one week by default.

“Almost 50% of our dictating physicians dictate with handheld recorders. They prefer the freedom of dictating without being tethered to a PC or telephone. Until now that freedom has come with a price, greatly reduced access to daily schedule and patient demographics. Recorders are also expensive, some costing over $500” says John Weiss, Scribe Vice President. “For those who use or prefer cellular coverage other than AT&T, Scribe Mobile will work on the iTouch, which can be purchased for just over $200. Given the low cost and numerous additional features of the iTouch, I can’t see why anyone would choose the older style recorders over an iTouch with Scribe Mobile.”

Scribe Mobile can be downloaded for free on iTunes (http://itunes. apple. com/WebObjects/MZStore. woa/wa/viewSoftware? id=391007459&cc=us&mt=8&ign-mscache=1&ign-mscache=1) and requires the user to have a Scribe account.
