CAMP Relationships, LLC and The Couples Institute have partnered to offer a special upcoming COUPLES ONLY weekend and marriage enrichment retreat at the Elms Resort and Spa. This unique adult summer camp will be held August 23-25, 2002 and will feature communications and counseling expert Dr. Daniel Claiborn.
Dr. Claiborn is the founder of the Couples Institute and is trained in "Men Are From Mars, Women are from Venus" and a multitude of other counseling techniques. Dr. Claiborn operates his own psychology practice and has over 30 years of experience working with couples.
In addition to the relationship insight of Dr. Claiborn, other experts in the fields of therapeutic massage, relaxation and communications will be on hand at the retreat to ensure a unique "couples only" experience.
"This retreat will be an excellent opportunity for couples to get away from their everyday routines and focus on each other," Dr. Daniel Claiborn said.

About The Couples Institute and Dr. Daniel Claiborn
The Couples Institute is a private psychology practice specializing in marital and family therapy. The Institute was founded on principles for maintaining strong relationships, placing a particular emphasis on healthy relationships between men and women.
Dr. Claiborn, the Institute's founder, received his M. A. in Clinical Psychology from Vanderbilt University in 1970 and his Ph. D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1975. Dr. Claiborn has worked with couples, families, and individuals for 30 years in hospitals, in universities, and in private practice. He has taught many courses in psychotherapy, family therapy, psychological assessment, and hypnosis at the graduate level at Iowa State University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has taught advanced psychiatric residents at the University of Kansas Medical Center, and he has served as Director of Training in a psychology internship program. He has published on psychological assessment of couples and families.
Dr. Claiborn has three times served as President of the Kansas Association of Professional Psychologists (now the Practice Division of the Kansas Psychological Association), and he is a member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. He is a Diplomate and Fellow of the American Psychotherapy Association, and a Board Certified Forensic Examiner and Diplomate in Forensic Psychology, American Board of Psychological Specialties. He is licensed in Missouri and Kansas.
Dr. Claiborn has received training from many influential family psychotherapists, including Milton Erickson, Jay Haley, Frank Farrelly, Gregory Bateson, Virginia Satir, Carl Whittaker, Will Schutz, John Gray, Albert Ellis, and many others.
Dr. Claiborn is married, and has two daughters and two stepsons.
