Lakeside's Corridor of Care now totals sixteen (16) Clinics across (4) Counties in Southwest and Central Florida.
Lakeland, FL (PRWEB) December 16, 2010
Lakeside Occupational Medical Centers, Inc. (http://www. lakesideoccmed. com) has announced today that they will have two more clinic locations effective immediately. With the acquisition of Occupational Health Partners (OHP) concluded this past Friday, specifically the locations at 5040 US Highway 98 N, Lakeland, and at 1750 N. Broadway, Bartow, Florida. Lakeside will now have sixteen Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care clinics located in Orange, Polk, Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties.
Lakeside was established by Richard F. Johnson, M. D. in 1978. The goal has been to provide the highest level of medical care and services to keep employers and their employees safe, healthy and on-the-job. Lakeside has recently taken on a new dimension by offering Urgent Care at all sixteen locations. This provides a value added service not only to employers, but to the entire service area and surrounding communities.
Fred Nussbaum, CEO of Lakeside, stated "These former OHP clinics have had a rich history of serving the Lakeland area for over 25 years now. We intend to bolster the trusted providers and staffs at these clinics by augmenting their current capabilities with the strength and resources that Lakeside can immediately bring." Added Nussbaum, "This should be an extremely smooth and transparent transition as we share many common employers, payers and suppliers."
James Hough, OHP's Owner and President said, "We were approached by multiple National based companies to buy our company. However we were apprehensive about their motives and commitment to our community." Added Hough, "In the final analysis, we wanted to insure for the employers that we served that they would have the same confidence that we had. We were confident that passing the baton to a long time Florida based company headquartered just down the road was the very best outcome for everyone involved."
Dr. Richard Johnson added "This acquisition is a significant link in Lakesides' "Corridor of Care"…connecting Hillsborough and Orange counties to provide additional, convenient access for our clients. Lakeside and its staff are delighted to be a new addition to Polk County, bringing "The Lakeside Way" to the employer community.
