[Maui, Hawaii]- Cookin With Cuttys 1st Annual Hawaiian Keiki Culinary Quest is a nation-wide search for tomorrowÂs culinary superstars. Children ages 10-16 in Hawaii and on the mainland are asked to submit "audition tapes" touting their culinary skills and nutritional knowledge. Up to six finalists, their parents and their recipes will be flown to Kaanapali, Maui, Hawaii in June 2003 to participate in the filming of a nationally televised one-hour Cookin With Cutty television special.
Producers of the critically acclaimed Hawaii-based childrenÂs television series (Cookin With Cutty) are searching for kids who are outgoing, have a desire to live a healthy lifestyle and are not camera shy. The tv special will be broadcast in Hawaii on Time-WarnerÂs OC16 and nationwide on the America One Network. The two-part series will feature highlights of the Keiki "Kook-Off", an "Iron Chef" style event featuring the young chefÂs and their adult mentors (local and national celebrity chefs) trying to outcook each other for the title of "Keiki SuperChef". The shows "reality-style" format will capture the kidÂs real emotions from their audition tape entries to their arrival in Hawaii, and culminating in the Hawaiian Style Luau/Awards ceremony on the last evening of filming. All participants will receive gifts and prizes from local and national product sponsors. Filming will take place between June 19 & 23, 2003 in Kaanapali. The Keiki Kook-Off event is being hosted by, and filmed at the beautiful Sheraton Maui Resort on June 21. The public is invited to attend the filming.
