Licefreee!® Provides Parents Facing Inevitable Head Lice Infestations with Non-Toxic Treatment to Kill Nits Following AAP Recommendation to Ban ‘No-Nit’ Policy in Schools

Albany, OR (Vocus) August 2, 2010

In an American Academy of Pediatrics clinical report appearing in the August 2010 issue of Pediatrics, the AAP is recommending a ban on ‘no-nit’ head lice policies in the schools. Tec Laboratories, Inc., makers of Licefreee!® non-toxic head lice treatments, reminds families facing the inevitable head lice infestations that will result from the ban to seek safe and effective treatment options. Declaring the policies ineffective and unnecessarily keeping students out of school, the AAP recommended the two pesticide-based products that are in fact losing their effectiveness in killing head lice and are not effective in killing nits (eggs) as the best treatment. Licefreee is a product unique in its ability to kill the nits that can prolong lice infestations in the schools, without the concern of leaving pesticide residue on the hair or scalp.

Licefreee Spray!®, is a simple, one-step solution that will quickly and easily apply to hair and begin working on contact. A homeopathic solution that uses the natural occurring mineral Natrum muriaticum 2X (Sodium chloride, USP) to kill lice and their eggs (nits), Licefreee Spray! is registered with and monitored by the FDA, and was developed and efficacy tested to ensure its effectiveness. Because it has been tested 100% effective in killing head lice and their nits, it does not require combing, however a professional stainless steel comb is included if nit removal is desired. Licefreee! is also available in a gel, two-step application.

“Banning policies obviously doesn’t make the head lice problem go away, and prevention will never bee 100% attainable, so keeping up on treatment options is critical for families as they face the infestation head-on at home,” said Steve Smith, CEO of Tec Laboratories. “Licefreee has been the preferred non-toxic treatment for more than ten years and we only anticipate its continued growth in popularity as more and more people become increasingly concerned with the health and environmental impact of potentially harmful pesticide-based options.”

Licefreee is available in a 6 oz. spray for $12.99; Licefreee gel is available in one - or two-treatment packs for $12.99 and $19.99. Licefreee can be found at most chain drug retailers including Rite Aid and Walgreens, as well as online at Teclabs. com.
