Longmont Area Economic Council Presents 7th Annual Community Appreciation Luncheon; September 13th Event Honors Longmont’s Outstanding Corporate Citizens

The Longmont Area Economic Council (LAEC) will present its 7th annual Community Appreciation Luncheon on Wednesday, September 13th at 11:30 a. m. at the Radisson Conference Center, 1850 Industrial Circle in Longmont.

The Longmont Area Economic Council (LAEC) will present its 7th annual Community Appreciation Luncheon on Wednesday, September 13th at 11:30 a. m. at the Radisson Conference Center, 1850 Industrial Circle in Longmont. Mike Landess, news anchor for Denver's Channel 7, will emcee the event.

LAEC's Community Appreciation Luncheon is designed to honor Longmont-area primary employers that have demonstrated support for the community through their employee programs and donations to the charitable organizations that improve the quality of life for Longmont residents. A new category this, the Legacy Award, will recognize a company that has been in business for 25 years or more. The event also includes the presentation of the Tom Brock Award, given to a local business person that has forwarded the cause of responsible economic growth in the community.

Longmont business and community leaders are invited to come out and help recognize primary employers who give back to their community through these efforts. The cost to attend the event is $35 per person. Corporate tables for eight are available for $245. For reservations, contact LAEC at 303-651-0128 by September 8.

Last year's honorees included Alpharma Animal Health, Melles Griot and Mentor Graphics for their support of the Foothills United Way Chapter, Our Center and the Longmont Theater Company, respectively. Bayne Gibson was awarded the Tom Brock Award for his contributions to the economic success of the Longmont community. Keith Kanemoto of Prudential LTM Realtors was presented with the LAEC President's Award.

Area businesses supporting this year's event include Platinum-level sponsors AMGEN, FlatIrons Bank, Longmont Power & Communications, and Xilinx, and Gold-level sponsors Longmont United Hospital and United Western Bank.

The Longmont Area Economic Council exists for the sole purpose of keeping the Longmont area economy strong.
