The National Association of Professional Women Local Chapter San Diego Gathered to Bring Members Together

San Diego members come together to discuss the chapter and embrace their mission statement.

The National Association of Professional Women Local Chapter San Diego gathered to bring members together. Amidst a casual atmosphere, NAPW local San Diego embrace the mission-"To Inform, educate, and provide members with the tools needed to achieve and maintain success within their chosen professions and successfully manage the career and family responsibilities facing women today."

Kathleen Quinn, owner of Wellspring Yoga is a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and Kathy Cazin owner of Accounts Keepers of San Diego arrive together, first to attend the meeting. Kathleen suggests with women to "sit in a circle" which the members agree.

Sheree Thrask, owner of Mon Sheree, spear heads the introductions which lasts 45 minutes. Her "Passion of Fashion" is second only to her charity-The American Cancer Society. In a grey suit, Chandra Ewell gracefully moves around the circle of women and distributes samples of XOCAI Healthy Chocolate. The introductions end with NAPW's VIP of the Year, Michelle Goldbach, RN and owner of Path for Healthy Living. In tandem with the introduction of her company, Michelle is ardent with concerns of the current state of health care and "Issues on Women's health."

Guest speaker Norris Velazquez, retirement specialist provides education tailored to professional women. The bold presentation combined with Norris's light spirit commands the attention of the membership. "Have you heard knowledge is power?" Together the members nod and say yes!
"Well, the person who told you forgot a word." Everyone is now awake and interested in the missing word. "Applied knowledge is power", Norris states. The guest speaker educates the women on taxes, insurance specific to their business and personal needs and retirement.

The final component of the meeting. The agenda is as follows:

1. Decide meeting location and time. NAPW Local San Diego members agree on the importance of monthly meetings for facilitate personal and professional growth. In addition, a minimum of one meeting each month will increase member attendance, encourage active participation, and increase NAPW Local San Diego's visibility in San Diego County.

2. Mentor/Mentee Relationships - NAPW Local San Diego Chapter President, Sharon Lofton continues to maintain a current list of members interested in the program. Sharon is the owner of CEU411 Nurse Travel and Education.
