Applied Research Northwest, a Bellingham-based social scientific research firm, has been chosen to conduct a state-wide study for the Louisiana Department of Social Services. ARN is partnering with the Center for the Support of Families on the project.

The year-long study will comprehensively evaluate the stateÂ’s current processes for working with child support cases, and then make recommendations about how to improve the system and make it more efficient. Louisiana is different from Washington State in that both the Department of Social Services and District AttorneyÂ’s offices have separate responsibilities in setting up and ensuring support is awarded and delivered to custodial parents.

Dr. Pamela Jull, manager and co-owner of Applied Research Northwest, is pleased to be working on the project. “We at ARN are very excited to contribute our analytic and research skills to such an interesting investigation.”

The Center for the Support of Families (http://www. csfsite. org/ (http://www. csfsite. org/)), with offices across the United States, works with government and private agencies to enhance support services to families. Applied Research Northwest (http://www. arnorthwest. com/ (http://www. arnorthwest. com/)) specializes in healthcare, environmental, educational, polling and program evaluation research primarily for government and non-profit agencies.
