Miami, FL (PRWEB) April 27, 2009

Marsha Elson-Joseph, BSN, a graduate of the University of Miami School of Nursing and Lisa Elson, RN a recent graduate of Miami Dade College School of Nursing are bringing low-tech innovations to the nursing profession.

After just two years as an oncology nurse, Marsha has experienced first hand the many unforeseen challenges facing her profession. "The transition from student nurse to joining the ranks as Registered Nurse is very overwhelming initially. Many new nurses find themselves frustrated and unable to cope with the realities of nursing. Time and again there are shortages in nursing, and the high turnover may stem from nurses being ill-equipped."

With that in mind, the two sisters set out to develop RNReport Card, a lightweight, 5 x 7 booklet that would help bridge the communication gap by standardizing what and how patient data is shared. RNReport Card provides a systematic way for nurses to manage patient information at a moment's notice. The creators of the RNReport Card believe the first step to bringing change to the field of nursing is to introduce standardization across the processes of "Note Taking" and "Shift Reporting". RNReport Card improves communication among doctors and nurses as well as assisting nurses to provide more efficient care to patients and their families. RNReport Card helps nurses to establish a more effective way to manage their day-to-day tasks ensuring a less stressful environment for the nurse at any stage in her career.  Increased efficiency in the healthcare process leads to better service and a more positive work environment. "Work smarter not harder". RNReport Card helps new nurses do just that.

RNReport Card is a tool that standardizes the note taking and shift reporting process. It fits conveniently into the pocket of your scrubs and keeps all of your patient information handy. It has room for everything you need to know about your patient (patient name, room, diagnosis, procedures, assessment, consults, medication times, drips, IV fluids, etc).

RNReport Card was conceptualized in November 2008 by a floor nurse to provide a system of organization aimed at decreasing clinical errors, nursing stressors, and increasing efficiency. Information about the company can be accessed through the RNReport Card website at www. RNReportCard. com.
