Zen School Releases New Prospectus and Switches to Western Calendar
Offering a New-Year oriented prospectus meant that when a potential student made their enquiry in August or September, they received a prospectus with only three or four months shelf-life.

New shiatsu courses, classes, training and timetables from London's home of Zen Shiatsu.
Master of the Zen School Kris Deva North explains the change from the Chinese New Year to the Western Academic Year.
"We offer continuous enrolment at the Zen School of Shiatsu, which means students can join any time of the year to begin their individual shiatsu training cycle.
"For many years we held to the traditional oriental cycle of seasons but found that most student enquiries coincide with the end or beginning of the academic year. This is simply because it is what they expect, and what they are accustomed to.
"Offering a New-Year oriented prospectus meant that when a potential student made their enquiry in August or September, we were sending out a prospectus with only three or four months shelf-life.
"It makes no difference to us as our courses are ongoing cycles. The customer - in our case the student - must come first. After all, we promote student-centres learning, why not a student-centered brochure release? Many of our students are from overseas. We need to adapt to their needs and expectations.
"So we changed. It makes sense, and fits the Zen tradition of flexibility, open-mindedness and freedom from restrictions of dogma. Just like our shiatsu!"
Kris and the tutor team at the Zen School are confident the extra investment in producing their prospectus early will be appreciated by potential students.
