Spanish-Language Prime-Time Soap Opera Star Becomes a Planet Blue Saver

Orlando, FL (Vocus) July 15, 2009

Spanish-speaking television fans may remember Lorena Rojas for portraying the villain Isabel Arroyo in the popular telenovela "El Cuerpo Del Deseo", but she will be a true heroine in her latest project as the Spanish-speaking spokeswoman for Save Planet Blue.

Rojas joined the team at Save Planet Blue to help promote the fun and interactive children's educational website dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and action. She will function as the Spanish-speaking spokeswoman to help build awareness of the project among the Hispanic communities in both the United States and around the world. Lorena also lends her voice to Sunny Sun, a lead character on the Spanish version of the Save Planet Blue television series that will guide families through exploration about environmental issues such as recycling and biodiversity.

"I am honored to be part of the team at Save Planet Blue promoting environmental awareness and education to Spanish-speaking children around the world," Rojas said. "No matter what language you speak, we all need to work together on critical issues such as global warming, recycling and preserving our natural habitats."

Most recently, Rojas played Natalia Ruiz in the popular NBC Telemundo network telenovela "Pecados Ajenos." Her telenovela career has spanned a decade with popular series such as "El Cuerpo Del Deseo", and "Ladron de Corazones". She also recently was a special guest on the VH-1 reality series ¡Viva Hollywood! and expanded her career into music with the 2006 release of the album "Deseo" which included the title track to the telenovela "El Cuerpo Del Deseo".

"We are very excited about having telenovela actress Lorena Rojas join our team," said Victoria Lauren, creator of Save Planet Blue. "She is a heroine in real life having survived breast cancer and then proactively becoming the voice of the Hispanic community to save others. Lorena is very concerned at the deterioration of the environment and how that affects the health of all of us. We asked her to assist us with our environmental education mission focused on children around the world. Her popularity will definitely spearhead our educational outreach to Spanish-speaking people."
