WristbandConnection. com Launches BAND AGAINST BULLYING Wristband Campaign

Features one-of-a-kind wristbands, designed to create visibility, empower victims and ultimately save lives

Houston, TX (PRWEB) November 1, 2010 –

Wristband Connection (http://www. WristbandConnection. com) today announced the launch of its BAND AGAINST BULLYING wristbands and an awareness campaign. The campaign is centered around Wristband Connection’s one-of-a-kind wide silicone wristband, seen here at http://www. wristbandconnection. com/band-against-bullying. php. The wristbands were created as a way for students, faculty and parents to say no to bullying; whether it is by reporting an incident, actively stepping in, speaking up for a victim, or being there for someone who is the victim of bullying. BAND AGAINST BULLYING wristbands act as visible symbol. The hope is that bullies who see the bands worn by fellow students will reconsider their actions, knowing that they are being watched. BAND AGAINST BULLYING wristbands also send a message that times are changing and most importantly, that victims are not alone.

“Wearing a BAND AGAINST BULLYING wristband says that you are united in your pledge to stop this type of abuse,” says Victor Rey, Founder and CEO of Wristband Connection. “Bullying affects all of our children whether they are victims, perpetrators or witnesses.”

According to the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, an estimated 30-percent of all children in grades six through twelve have been bullied or have bullied other children during a school year. But, it does not stop there. Bullying is taking its toll on college students, as reported recently in the news. Several students have committed suicide as a result.

The escalation of this problem has celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, Tim Gunn, and Chelsea Handler pleading to put an end to bullying through public announcements. Councilman Joel Burns, Forth Worth, Texas recently shared his own emotional story on national television.

“Each day, the focus of bullying in the media grows more urgent. Each day another child finds they are unable to cope with the intimidation, the teasing, the beating, and the emotional scarring of being bullied,” says Rey.

According to statistics, 160,000 students miss one day of school each year out of fear or shame. “One thing is apparent,” says Rey. “It is time to take a stand against bullying.”

With the plan to take the BAND AGAINST BULLYING wristbands to schools, community centers, and organizations nationwide, Wristband Connection (http://www. WristbandConnection. com) will feature a model on its website where businesses and communities can participate in sponsoring these wristbands for the schools. Wristband Connection will also feature useful information on anti-bullying and will recognize businesses that are active sponsors.

Wristband Connection is impassioned about this campaign and feels that while public announcements are important in educating children about the harmful effects of bullying, it is important for students to become proactive and to become a part of the solution.

“With the BAND AGAINST BULLYING wristbands, no words or confrontation is necessary. The band represents zero tolerance. It will make bullies think twice. It will empower victims. And ultimately, it will save lives,” says Rey.

Wristband Connection is a Houston, Texas based national company whose passion is embedded in the messages they create and market to communities and organizations through wristbands. Some programs they have helped sponsor are The Red Cross, The Lance Armstrong Foundation, and various Breast Cancer Awareness Programs. Wristband Connection (http://www. WristbandConnection. com) is banding together with their BAND AGAINST BULLYING wristbands and urges people to join this worthy cause.
