City Club, Multnomah County Citizens Involvement Committee co-sponsor forums

City Club, Multnomah County Citizens Involvement Committee co-sponsor forums

City Club of Portland and Multnomah County Citizen Involvement Committee are co-sponsoring a series of six Community Strategy Forums that will provide the public an opportunity to connect with the county budgeting and long-term planning process.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) January 16, 2005

This type of outreach and community participation follows the principles recommended by County consultant and recent City Club guest speaker Peter Hutchinson, founder and president of The Public Strategies Group and co author of “The Price of Government: Getting the Results We Need in an Age of Permanent Fiscal Crisis.”

A series of evening public discussions will address each of the six priorities set by the county. Each forum will begin with comments by a panel of community experts who will address the countyÂ’s strategies for reaching its prioritized goals. This will be followed by small group discussions in which citizens can share their views on the priorities for accomplishing the stated goal. The results of those discussions will be provided to the county commissioners.

These evening forums, which are free and open to the public, will be held 7-9 p. m. in the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners Board Room in the Multnomah Building at 501 S. E. Hawthorne Blvd. For additional details, contact Multnomah CountyÂ’s Citizen Involvement Committee at 503-988-3450 or www. citizenweb. org.
