Childhood & Adult Obesity Causes and Solutions Discussed in Michelle Pearl's Groundbreaking Book

Atypical Fitness Guru Michelle Pearl Discusses Causes and Solutions for Ongoing Weight Problems in Children and Adults in Just-Released Second Edition of "Wake Up!" with Foreword by NBC's Biggest Loser Contestant Kai Hibbard

Rancho Cucamonga, CA (PRWEB) September 15, 2010

In the second edition of her well-received book, "Wake Up! You’re Probably Never Going to Look Like That: How to be Happier, Healthier and Imperfectly Fit" (ISBN: 978-0-615-38631-7 Gallery Press Publishing, September 2010, $16.95 196 pages) Michelle Pearl asserts, “Parents are to blame for exposing children to high-fat and sugary foods on a regular basis, and have to take responsibility for the fact that they are getting their children’s sensory memories addicted to unhealthy choices.”

In Wake Up! Pearl, who was morbidly obese throughout her childhood and for several decades as an adult, dissects the causes and solutions of ongoing weight problems.

Pearl explains, “When children are very young, they may have the metabolisms to burn off the excess calories from foods that are sugary and high in fat, but that soon changes. If you keep junk food around the house or allow them to eat high-fat foods regularly, you are training their sensory memories to crave these foods now and later in life. In essence, you are helping to create the next generation of obese adults, just like our parents might have unwittingly done with us. That is one legacy that none of us wants to leave to our children.”

The foreword for the second edition of the book was written by Kai Hibbard, the 3rd season runner-up contestant on NBC's The Biggest Loser who is now publicly speaking out about the dangerous and unrealistic weight loss tactics and messages disseminated by the television show.

While the waiting for the second edition of the book to be widely disseminated through major distribution channels to retail book stores, Gallery Press Publishing is making the full text of Wake Up! available for free for a limited time to anyone who would like to view it online through the Ebook distributor for the Ipad version, Smashwords.
