Dr. I-Net visions to replace physicians cellular phone by VSN™ powered handset and provide them with multiple mobile communication and clinical connectivity’s

(PRWEB) August 9, 2002

Dr. I-Net announced an extended multi-level agreement with Motorola for joint development and distribution of its VSN™ technologies (Virtual Synaptic Networks) via Motorola’s telecommunication products. As the healthcare industry is maturing, providers are starting to realize the benefits of handheld units and wireless applications to provide immediate care.

Motorola’s handset empowered by VSN™ technologies will allow practitioners to capture, record, and transmit any information to any location. One can access patient information, get details on alerts from nursing, communicate with the pharmacy, enter and transmit physician orders, etc.

These handy units weighing less than 5 ounces will allow the healthcare practitioner to make a quick determination of drug-to-drug interaction or allowed medications. In some provider settings, scheduling, dictation and transcription about patient history can be coordinated.

The challenge for healthcare professionals has been to find users friendly tool to get updated and timely information between the practitioner and Dr. I-Net's centralized database. Motorola handset interface with VSN™ technologies will enhance physicians ability to get the updated information on hospital rounds, informing health practitioners of urgent events while they are within the institution providing interactive decision or system support and allow practitioners to record medical information for instant inclusion into the medical health record.

Dr. I-Net advocates that medical emergencies are direct function of time. Decision Support provides access to drug formularies and interaction information, policies, guidelines, schedules, and even patient information at the point of care. Admission and prior history functions for emergency room while the patient is triaged is another interesting application to provide immediate care and save lives.

Ashley Chopra the spokes woman for the company says that our vision is to replace physicians cellular phone by VSN™ powered handset and provide them with multiple mobile communication and clinical connectivity’s. The first version of Dr. I-Net is on the market. The next version, which includes advanced online real time physician oriented features, to access vital signs is currently in development.

Support staff will still use a PC for routine administrative task, data entry, billing and other less time critical functions through our centralized database. Dr. I-Net’s VSN™ integration into Motorola’s handset brings the best interoperability and security, to access critical information at the point of care.
