Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Now Covered by Insurance at East Gate Chiropractic & Wellness

East gate Chiropractic & Wellness is one of only a few officees using the new Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression technology to treat chronic and acute low back pain, including bulging or herniated discs. Unlike other cebters offering this state of the art technology East Gate Chiropractic may be the only center that is accepting insurance patients for this procedure.

Mount Laurel, NJ (PRWEB) April 6, 2010

East Gate Chiropractic & Wellness in Mount Laurel has recently been informed by several major insurance companies that non-surgical spinal decompression is being covered by health insurance. “This is very exciting news for our patients. Now, we're able to help people with a great therapy that has already helped many people in Burlington and Camden Counties, but now we will be able to help many more that have insurance coverage available” stated Leonard F. Vernon, D. C. the director of East Gate Chiropractic & Wellness Chiropractor at Wellness & Better Health Chiropractic.

Non-surgical spinal decompression had been used for many years in helping alleviate neck and low back pain associated with disc bulges, disc herniations as well as chronic back pain that have not been helped by other non invasive procedures. The machine used at East Gate Chiropractic & Wellness is a Lordex ® unit made by Lordex Systems in Texas. Lordex is one of the major manufacturers of non-surgical spinal decompression equipment in the world.

Dr. Vernon stated “We began using Lordex ® in 2009 in addition to the standard chiropractic therapies and felt it would compliment everything that the clinic had been doing, but would continue to help improve patients that no longer improved from chiropractic or physical therapy. Lordex® is used by orthopedic surgeons, pain management doctors and chiropractors alike. We really enjoy being able to help people return to the activities they love and now with some insurance companies covering the therapy as it is becoming more integrated into our health care model it is definitively a win-win.” Unfortunately because many insurance programs have not covered non-surgical spinal decompression many practitioners in the area have taken advantage of this situation charging patients $3000-$5000 for the 12-20 sessions usually required to complete the treatment plan.

Dr. Vernon has been practicing chiropractic care in the South Jersey area since 1979 and focuses his care on acute and chronic low back and neck problems. He is certified is licensed by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners and holds a special license in electro-diagnostic testing. Dr. Vernon re-iterated that Lordex® therapy is not covered by all insurance companies, but a quick call to his office would determine if a patient’s insurance would coverall or part of this treatment.
