Apollo Hospitals, India’s premier healthcare institution has launched Apollo Life, a quarterly magazine that will make available to the general public, information about health and disease.

Apollo Hospitals, India’s premier healthcare institution has launched Apollo Life, a quarterly magazine that will make available to the general public, information about health and disease. The magazine has been conceptualised as a much needed service to the public in order to address the issue of low health awareness amongst the general public. Also, the magazine can be preserved by subscribers and will be a reference on various health issues, thereby underscoring its importance as a health digest. A thematic magazine by nature, while the inaugural issue focuses on Stress and Stress Management, the subsequent issues will focus on other health issues.
Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Founder and Executive Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group released the magazine. Speaking at the launch of the magazine, Dr. Reddy said, “The launch of Apollo Life is a momentous occasion for us. We, at Apollo, believe that generating health awareness is a key component of our responsibility towards the public. We, many years ago, pioneered the concept of Preventive health check programmes for this very purpose. Now, 7 lakh preventive checks later, we are focussing on taking health awareness to peoples’ doorsteps. Through this magazine, we hope to reach out to the general public, and create the much needed awareness about various health issues so that diseases can be prevented or minimised at an early stage.”
Introducing the concept of the magazine, Dr. Srinidhi Chidambaram, Consultant, Health Communication, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, said, “The magazine contains articles from various eminent medical specialists, and each issue focuses on a specific theme. Reflecting the theme of the current issue of Apollo Life, the launch was followed by ‘Sushanthi’, a stress management programme consisting of a relaxing raga concert by Ranjani and Gayatri, a presentation by eminent media personality and dancer Smt. Anita Ratnam on the arts and stress management and a specially created “Food for the Soul” dinner.
