Mobile, AL (PRWEB) January 29, 2004

Extreme makeover gala announcement event held in Mobile, Alabama, January 30, 2004 at 6:30 pm.

The popular ABC TV nationally syndicated phenomenon Extreme Makeover will soon have its counter part version as Mobile presents its OWN EXTREME MAKEOVER. The same services and procedures seen on the popular national TV program are available right here on the Gulf Coast.

One fortunate individual will be announced as the recepient of a complete cosmetic makeover that will include plastic surgery, dental cosmetics, hair, makeup, and wardrobe along with health and fitness improvements. A runner up will also receive a mini makeover with less extensive services. Awards for the guests will be held at the Bienville Club, Friday January 30, 2004 at 6:30 pm. during the gala announcement event. Local celebrities will be present and the announcements will be made by Dan and Shelby of WKSJ Radio Mobile.

Many perks are being donated by local participating businesses and all the proceeds will go to charity. Dr Byron C. Scott, a well-known Mobile cosmetic/implant dentist and Dr Michael Lyons, a prominent Mobile cosmetic surgeon will be the doctors who head the team to transform the lives of these fortunate individuals. Dan and Shelby of WKSJ Radio will be among the panel of judges who will review the applications and videotapes submitted by the hopeful candidates.

Extreme Makeover Mobile will follow the experiences of our winners through the many different areas of personal improvement. As their lives are transformed, local media will cover the progress made and will be invited to attend the exciting "coming out gala finale" to be held in spring 2004. Dr Byron C. Scott states, "We have the capabilities here in Mobile to even surpass the miracles preformed by the national syndicated popular Extreme Makeover series. I am so excited about all the local enthusiasm and cooperation by many prominent businesses here in the Mobile area".

The campaign was kicked off as the Mobile Extreme Makeover team sponsored their own float in the annual Mobile Christmas Parade held December 20, 2003 in downtown Mobile where more than 30,000 people attended. Everyone interested in following the progress of the makeover can stay tuned to the local media as well as logging on regularly to www. mobilealabamaextrememakeover. com. All entry fees collected will be donated to the American Cancer Society, The Home of Grace & The Mobile Food Bank.

Daily coverage will be provided by WKSJ on the Dan and Shelby morning show. Dr Scott states, "Two of the most significant changes in 2004 will be in the lives of these two fortunate individuals in our area whose dreams will finally come true. Cosmetics, health, and fitness improvements are known to significantly change the quality of life for many in our world today as we seek to look better, feel better, and live better. We will have an opportunity to see that happen right here in our community. I'm confident all will stay tuned as Mobile's Own Extreme Makeover unfolds".
