He’s got brains, style and a wicked smile. But there’s one thing the CareFRESH guinea pig doesn’t have — a name. Give him one and you could win a $20,000 scholarship annuity and a Wii game system.

CareFRESH, a leading brand of food and habitat products for small pets, wants kids to name its guinea pig mascot. With permission from your parents, you can visit http://www. carefresh. com/scholarship to enter the contest.

CareFRESH will select five finalists and put them to a vote on its Web site. All finalists will receive a Wii game system. The winning name also earns a $20,000 scholarship annuity.

The scholarship contest is part of CareFRESH Critter College, a free lesson kit for grades 4-7 that teaches kids how to safely care for small pets like guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils and hamsters.

In order to enter the scholarship contest, kids have to pass a quick quiz on responsible small pet ownership. The answers can be found in the Critter College curriculum or on the CareFRESH Web site, http://www. carefresh. com/caring.

“Our goal is to help kids become good pet caregivers,” said Shawn Dooley, CareFRESH vice president. “On our Web site, they can find tips to help their small pets live long, healthy lives.”

Entries must be received by 6/1/11. The contest is open to residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are between the ages of five and 15 by May 24, 2010.

The CareFRESH brand, which includes CareFRESH small animal bedding and CareFRESH Complete foods, is part of Absorption Corp., which also develops, manufactures and markets proprietary, cost-effective absorbent products for oil and hazardous spill cleanup and other purposes.
