Phion Information Technologies and OPSWAT Announce Partnership to Enhance Endpoint Security for Remote Access Users
OPSWAT integration technologies to extend phion netfence offering.
Innsbruck, Austria and San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 26, 2007
phion Information Technologies (http://www. phion. com), a leading European provider of security and communication infrastructures, and OPSWAT, Inc. (http://www. opswat. com), a leading provider of endpoint security application integration technologies, today announced a partnership wherein phion will incorporate OESIS Local and OESIS Monitor from OPSWAT into phion netfence.
The partnership will enhance capabilities of the phion netfence to enforce antivirus, antispyware, antiphising, Windows OS patch-level and firewall security policy as part of phion's upcoming endpoint security product line and network access control framework.
It will consist of a managed endpoint client and corresponding policy management servers. Information such as antivirus and anti-spyware application status can be reported and may be used in a policy match.
"With companies expanding their remote access capabilities to a variety of locations, entities and access equipment, the security policy enforcement for endpoints has become a necessity" said Dr. Klaus Gheri, CTO and co-founder at phion. "Partnering with OPSWAT allows us to provide advanced security enforcement services to our customers in order to protect them from unsafe or compromised endpoints."
OESIS Local is an open platform used by technology vendors to detect and control most endpoint security applications in the market. Technology vendors embed OESIS Local into their products, empowering their products to manage third-party security applications installed on client machines.
OESIS Monitor is a data service that monitors signature and product updates within minutes of release from antivirus and antispyware vendors. OESIS Monitor empowers technology vendor products to check the currency of antivirus and antispyware applications detected on client machines using OESIS Local.
"Being able to manage remote access securely is increasingly important," said Benny Czarny, OPSWAT's founder and CEO. "The combination of OPSWAT OESIS and phion netfence gives IT administrators superior control over securing the health of any remote machine accessing the network."
