Ancient Indian Tradition: Massage Therapy The Key To Restoring Hair
Head massages are the way to go to restore hair growth, says Indian wisdom. Now there's a new product that claims to simulate head massage with the goal of regrowing hair.

Hair loss experts say they believe message therapy is the key ingredient to restoring hair and preventing receding hairlines.
Dr. Narenda Mehta, of Bombay, India, who has studied hair loss for the past decade says his research shows that head massages, which are routinely done in parts of India, promote hair growth.
There’s a new pill and topical solution called Heradone that’s packed with ingredients that massage the scalp to restore and promote rich-looking hair. It also blocks the formation of DHT, or dihydrotestostrone, a condition men develop, which shrinks hair follicles until it no longer produces visible hair.
“To combat hair loss due to hypertension, poor circulation, serious illness and even the aging process, Indian men practice regular head massages,” Mehta said. “This ancient technique has played an important part in Indian life for nearly 4,000 years. Today, everyone from children to grandparents use the technique to decrease stress, improve overall health and promote hair growth.”
Hair loss usually develops gradually and may be patchy or diffuse (all over). Roughly 100 hairs are lost from your head every day. The average scalp contains about 100,000 hairs. Shedding 50 to 100 hairs a day is considered normal. When your hair sheds, it’s replaced by a new hair from the same follicle located just beneath your skin’s surface. Your hair grows about one-half inch a month.
Jason Parker, 37, of Atlanta, said he started losing hair five years ago and thought he would never re-grow the hair lost.
“I tried everything,” he said. “I tried everything at the drug store, my doctor couldn’t help me, so I really thought that my hair was lost forever. But then I heard about Heradone. I tried it and now my hair has blossomed back to they way it looked five years ago. Heradone is the only product that works for me.”
Heradone is manufactured by Memphis-based Selmedica Healthcare. For more information about hair loss, visit www. heradone. com.
