Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 8, 2010

Tuan N'Gai, civil rights activist, author, and founder of Silence Equals Consent (silenceequalsconsent. org), has announced an interfaith prayer vigil to be held in Lithonia, GA. Minister N'Gai plans to pray for the end of pedophilia and homophobia in the Black Church. The event will also honor the memories of the LGBT teenagers who recently took their own lives.

On November 13, 2010 at 12pm, the "Breaking the Silence So Healing Can Begin" vigil will be held at Willie A. Watkins Special Event Center, 5843 Redan Road, Lithonia, Georgia 30058.

"Over the past few weeks, six young people have ended their lives after being ostracized by the community, and four young men have spoken out against the abuse they allegedly endured at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. There are many more who feel hopeless so they are being silent. This is a call to action for the community. We need to pray, so healing can begin," N'Gai said.

Clergy, civil rights leaders, and social justice activists from across the country have been invited to speak and lead prayers. Confirmed speakers include Sheila O'Bannon (Writer of "The Prodigal" Stage Play), Elder Kevin E. Taylor (Unity Fellowship Church - New Brunswick, NJ), and Cleo Manago (Founder, AmASSI National Centers for Wellness and Health).
