New York, NY (PRWEB) May 27, 2006
Southern New York Association, Inc. (SNYA) and New York Health Care Alliance, LLC (NYHCA), both networks of sub-acute care and rehabilitation facilities located in the New York metropolitan area, announced the launch of a comprehensive NCLEX® (National Council Licensure Examination) test preparation course to assist domestic and international nurses in successfully reviewing, practicing, and preparing for the licensure examination.
Neil Heyman, CEO of New York Health Care Alliance, commented, “Given the myriad challenges that our nursing homes and associated health care facilities face on a daily basis, we felt we could help them fulfill their mission to provide quality nursing professionals to the community. A nursing shortage of unprecedented scope will grasp the nation by 2020. Inadequate student preparation for NCLEX® delays new graduates' entrance into the work force, expanding the nursing shortage and personally and financially burdening students, facilities, administrators, and other prospective employers.”
“In the midst of diminishing student enrollment in the nation's nursing schools, declining NCLEX® success rates, and a shrinking nursing workforce, success for first-time NCLEX® candidates remains a top priority for our organization and its dedicated members”, stated Laura Gargano, MPA, RN, Manager of Nursing Education and Development for NYHCA.
