Las Vegas (PRWEB) December 5, 2008

Has the state of the economy changed the way business needs to market to 78 million baby boomers? What new boomer business opportunities are growing despite the economic downturn?

These questions and more will be answered at the Sixth Annual What's Next Boomer Business Summit, March 19, 2009 at Bally's Hotel in Las Vegas. The one-day conference focuses on the 76 million baby boomer market with a spending power of over $3 trillion. This year's theme: Boomer Market 2009: Building Value…Getting Results focuses on the impact the current economy is expected to have on baby boomer spending and savings habits.

The summit (www. boomersummit. com) will cover four key areas:

Business Strategy - Entrepreneur and author Guy Kawasaki talks about business success in a downturn and his new book "Reality Check: Outsmarting, Outmanaging and Outmarketing Your Competition."

Social media and technology - Striking new ways to reach baby boomers from groups like VolunteerMatch. com, BlogHer, and Microsoft.

Baby Boomer research - New research conducted in January 2009 from Steve French of the Natural Marketing Institute (NMI) will provide a first glimpse at changes in boomers attitudes and spending. Dr. Sandra Timmermann from the MetLife Mature Market Institute will present research highlights on boomers and money.

Caregiving and Aging in Place - The caregiving market is 44 million and growing. Aging in place technologies promise to be a business growth area in meeting baby boomer needs for themselves and their family members. Laurie Orlov of Aging in Place Technology Watch will provide research on this emerging market. Andy Cohen of Caring. com will share ways to effectively reach caregivers online.

"Baby boomers are revising and resizing their futures… working longer, caring for aging parents, and keeping up with technology are now on top of their priority list. This has an impact on any businesses that sells or provides service to baby boomers. It can open up new business opportunities, and also requires more innovative thinking about how to reach them cost effectively," said Mary Furlong, Producer of the What's Next Boomer Business Summit.
