Diamond's CIO Dashboard Tracking CIOs Who Tweet

Chris Curran, the CTO of Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, creates a central source of CIOs who tweet to help CIOs get value from Twitter by following their peers.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 5, 2009

Are there really any CIOs in the Twitterverse? Chris Curran, the CTO of Diamond Management & Technology Consultants (http://www. diamondconsultants. com/PublicSite/), recently set out on a quest to answer that question. The list of CIOs who tweet can be found at the CIO Dashboard blog at http://www. ciodashboard. com/cio-twitter-dashboard/ (http://www. ciodashboard. com/cio-twitter-dashboard/).

Curran waded through hundreds of Twitter-related sites and applications that provide information on professional groups. CIOs were nowhere to be found. While literally hundreds of sources for executives exist because of Twitter's open interface, he was left using tedious traditional search methods to pinpoint CIOs who are microblogging.

"Whether or not a CIO is going to find Twitter valuable has everything to do with who they are following," said Curran. "But, culling through former CIOs, consultants, users unverifiable via Google, and non-CIOs using the keyword takes time that CIOs simply don't have right now. They are already trying to get blood from a stone in this down economy. The irony is that Twitter might be able to help CIOs maximize the resources they have by sharing information and inspiration with other CIOs facing similar circumstances."

Curran created a central source of CIOs who tweet to help CIOs get value from Twitter by following their peers. Curran is inviting the Twitter community to help him expand the list as the interest in Twitter among CIOs grows.

The list is divided into categories of e-Commerce, Education, Federal Government, Financial Services, Healthcare, High Tech and Insurance. Some of the most high profile tweeters include John Halamka (@jhalamka) Harvard Medical School; Victor Fetter (@vpfetter) Dell; Charlie Catlett (@CeC) Argonne National Labs and Linda Cureton (@curetonl) NASA.

Curran used Twitstamp to create the widgets. You can read more about Curran's journey to find CIOs at http://www. ciodashboard. com/social-media/are-there-any-real-cios-in-the-twitterverse/ (http://www. ciodashboard. com/social-media/are-there-any-real-cios-in-the-twitterverse/).
