Bob Crawford, owner of VSQI Gifts (www. vsqigifts. com), an online gift store announces the discontinuance of offering items labeled with the California Proposition 65 warnings on them and deleted them from the website. VSQI Gifts, operating as http://www. vsqigifts. com (http://www. vsqigifts. com) no longer offers any products with California Proposition 65 warnings on them.
Proposition 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, was enacted as a ballot initiative in November 1986. The Proposition was intended by its authors to protect California citizens and the State's drinking water sources from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and to inform citizens about exposures to such chemicals. Proposition 65 requires the Governor to publish, at least annually, a list of chemicals known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity.
There are plenty of hazards in the world and VSQI Gifts thinks that if Prop 65 things are also hazardous, why offer them? We did our best to remove them from our website and we will do our best not to add any new products with the Prop 65 warnings on them in the future. The health of our customers are important to us.
