Ivera Medical Corporation (http://www. iveramed. com/), a San Diego (CA) based medical device company, today announced it has filed a complaint against Amsino International, Inc., a Chinese manufacturer of medical devices with a U. S. office in Pomona, CA. The complaint includes claims for theft of trade secrets and breach of contract. Other claims and defendants may be added as the case progresses.

Ivera's complaint alleges that Amsino misappropriated Ivera's trade secrets relating to the design of a disinfecting cap (http://www. iveramed. com/), both by disclosing those trade secrets to a third-party and by using Ivera's trade secrets to develop its own disinfecting cap.

Amsino is the manufacturer of the EffectIV Disinfecting Cap a product marketed exclusively by Hospira, Inc. Lake Forest, IL. Ivera intends to seek a preliminary injunction halting Amsino's ability to manufacture and distribute the EffectIV Disinfecting Cap.

"This action should signal to the market that Ivera will vigorously defend its intellectual property," Bob Rogers, Chief Executive Officer of Ivera Medical said, in making the announcement. "We have worked hard to develop the best disinfecting cap technology for our Curos® Port Protector (http://www. iveramed. com/), and we will not stand by and let others improperly exploit our ideas."

The Curos® Port Protector, the Company's flagship product, is a disinfection device (http://www. iveramed. com/) designed to cover, clean and protect needleless access valves aiding in the efforts to reduce bloodstream infections (http://www. iveramed. com/). Its innovative design provides for ease of use, minimal alcohol spillage and packaging waste and its highly visible green color aids in compliance confirmation and is being associated in the industry with the slogan 'Green is Clean'.
