The new facility is located at 9247 Research Drive, Irvine, California 92618. In addition, Links Medical maintains another facility in the Irvine Spectrum plus an assembly and distribution operation in Indio, California. This most recent expansion reflects Links Medical's rapid growth and the need for additional space to meet anticipated heavy demand for their new ManukaMed™ Medical-Grade Manuka Honey products. Manuka Honey comes from the flower of the Manuka tree (leptospermum scoparium) native to New Zealand and has shown in numerous studies to have powerful bacteriostatic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

According to the company, this rapid growth has enabled them to make a commitment to capturing a significant share of the rapidly expanding worldwide market for Manuka-Honey-based products through the introduction of their ManukaMed brand of products.

The Medical-Grade Manuka Honey supplied by Links Medical will carry the Gold Seal of the Molan Gold Standard established in 2009 by the University of Waikato in New Zealand in conjunction with the University's Professor Peter Molan, MBE, who discovered the original Manuka activity. As a highly respected honey researcher and pioneer in the study of Manuka Honey, Professor Molan has put his name to the Molan Gold Standard to give customers confidence that they are buying authenticated honey with medical and health properties.
Recent research by the University of Sydney confirms Professor Molan's own work that shows that harmful bacteria are not able to develop resistance against the bacteriostatic activity of Manuka Honey. According to the University of Waikato, the Molan Gold Standard certification establishes an international standard for the authentication of medicinal honeys.
The Molan Gold Standard certification will also help customers sort through the often confusing information relating to the true strength of various Manuka Honey products currently available on the market, small amounts of which have been know to sell for as much as $65 or more.
