UCLA ICE HOCKEY PRESENTS OUTDOOR SCREENING OF NATIONAL LAMPOONÂ’S ANIMAL HOUSE

Students and general public are invited to an outdoor showing of this classic college movie

(PRWEB) September 10, 2003

WESTWOOD, CA, September 8, 2003 – The UCLA Ice Hockey Bruins, in partnership with Cinespia. org, are hosting a 25th anniversary showing of the collegiate classic, National Lampoon’s Animal House. The film will be presented at UCLA on a giant outdoor screen, along with a DJ, special movie trailers and other promotions, on Wednesday, September 24th, 2003.

The Movie

It was the Deltas against the rules – and the rules lost. ThatÂ’s right, the boys of Faber College return to the scene of their crimes, a bucolic college campus. In this case, itÂ’s UCLAÂ’s Westwood campus that will host Bluto, Pinto, Flounder and all their Fraternity Brothers. Considered by many to be the ultimate college movie, National LampoonÂ’s Animal House remains a timely classic. Students and the general public are invited to join the UCLA Ice Hockey Squad on Double Secret Probation for a great event featuring this hilarious film.

The Event

The first in a series of outdoor movie screenings hosted by UCLA Hockey, National LampoonÂ’s Animal House will be shown on a large screen located at the top of UCLA Sunset Canyon Recreation CenterÂ’s Lower Field. The field, with a capacity of 3000, is the perfect location for outdoor movie screenings. Students and the general public are invited to begin casual field seating (bring a blanket) at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 24th, 2003. The screening will begin at dusk or approximately 7:30pm. The event will also feature a DJ spinning tunes before and after the film as well as special movie trailers and event related promotions. Entry is $5.00 for UCLA students with ID and $10.00 for the general public. Parking is available for $7.00. Attendees are invited to bring refreshments although no alcoholic beverages or smoking will be allowed. The UCLA Sunset Canyon Recreation Center is located on UCLAÂ’s Westwood campus just south of Sunset Boulevard off Bellagio Way (310-825-3671 for directions). All proceeds will go to support the UCLA Ice Hockey program. This screening is the first in a series.

UCLA Ice Hockey

Organized by Cinespia. org, the host of movie screenings at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, this event will raise money to benefit the UCLA Ice Hockey Program. A club sport at UCLA, the Ice Hockey team receives less than 10% of its budget from university sources. All other expenses must be provided through donations and money raised by participating student athletes. Considering these circumstances, UCLA Ice HockeyÂ’s 77 year tradition of excellence is remarkable. Beginning in 1925 with a game against USC, the UCLA Ice Hockey Bruins have enjoyed numerous Pac-8 Tournament Bids and a nationally ranked squad in 1999. This season, the team will open against UC, Berkeley on Friday, October 17th at HealthSouth Arena in El Segundo, CA.
