Attention Pilots; Another "tool" for your flight bag

Attention Pilots; Another "tool" for your flight bag.

Excercising good judgment must begin prior to taking the controls of your aircraft. Often, pilots thoroughly check their aircraft to determine if they are airworthy, yet do not evaluate their own fitness for flight.

The effects of stress, for example, are numerous and varied, including heart attacks, cancer, colds, chronic pain, and obesity. Factors which increase your stress levels during flight situations can be placed in three categories: physical, physiological, and psychological. (the three P's)

Physical Stress - Conditions associated with the environment, such as temperature and humidity extremes, noise, vibration, and lack of oxygen.

Physiological Stress - Your physical condition, such as fatigue, lack of physical fitness, sleep loss, missed meals (leading to low blood sugar levels), and illness.

Psychological Stress - Social or emotional factors, such as a death in the family, a divorce, a sick child, stress at work, or the mental workload of in-flight situations.  When your body is under stress for a prolonged period of time, proper nutrient supplementation is critical to ensure your body is able to function, heal, and defend itself properly.

Studies show that the adrenal glands can be supported and returned to optimal functioning by supplying the body with the nutrients found in certain Vitamins, which are known to be depleted during times of stress.

However, not ALL vitamins are good for you. Scientists have created synthetic vitamins that are much cheaper to produce, and are sold in most major brand multi-vitamins today. These synthetic forms of vitamins can actually be harming your body more than benefiting it.

For example, studies show that taking the synthetic form of vitamin C (ascorbic acid),can thicken the arterial walls of the heart by as much as two and a half times which can lead to heart disease! Taking the synthetic forms of vitamins A, E,and B etc.,can be JUST as dangerous.

The answer? Whole food vitamins straight from fruits and vegetables(not synthetic), chelated minerals(the most absorbable), Probiotics (critical for the bodies health), and enzymes (critical for digestion).

Remember your health is truly your greatest asset. And we know the more you read about whole food vitamins and their effects on the three P's, the more you will realize just how important it is for you to start taking them each day.
