providing educational information and event listings to women about Breast Cancer

Benefits Chicago. com™, the free online magazine serving Chicago’s philanthropic society that covers benefits galas and charity events monthly on its site, is holding it’s own information campaign to help continue to educate the public of the disease as well provide vital information and support to those affected by the disease.
According to Founder and Publisher Donna Binbek, “We believe that if women are better educated about how to give a breast exam and when to have mammograms, they can prolong their lives and the lives of their female friends and family.”
For the remainder of October, Benefits Chicago. com™ will provide a link on it’s front page to breast cancer information as well as breast cancer awareness related events, and will also provide media coverage for and speak with related organizations for the events that will be posted.
"I am surprised by the number of women who are not informed on breast cancer info and even greater surprised by the amount of women who are not aware of how to properly perform breast exams and though the medical community is trying to get the message out to women, but it just isnÂ’t happening as often as it should," said Donna Binbek. "We as women get so busy with our lives, helping our friends, giving our best at work, and being supportive to our families, that we sometimes downplay our own health issues until its too late; the best way to get the message across to women of the importance of breast cancer, and how to take of yourself to help prevent this disease, is the media, so it is my obligation and hope as a journalist to get this message across to as many woman through my media outlet as I possibly can. If we can take time to cover wars and baseball games, we can take the time to make women, the medical community, and spouses and friends aware of how to help women can take care of themselves".
