Health Education Solutions' Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course Gains Approval from American Academy of Family Physicians

ACLS courses allows health care professionals to earn continuing education credits

Lincoln, NE (Vocus) October 6, 2009

The online Advanced Cardiac Life Support (http://www. healthedsolutions. com/) (ACLS) provider and recertification courses offered by Health Education Solutions (HES) recently received approval from the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). The approval allows health care professionals who take these online courses to earn eight and four continuing education credits for the ACLS provider and recertification courses respectively.

"We are proud that our online course offerings continue to gain the support of prestigious professional organizations like the American Academy of Family Physicians," said David King, president of Health Education Solutions. "The approval from AAFP attests to the high quality of the ACLS course content we offer to health care professionals who are looking to advance or enhance their skills in handling emergency situations."

All critical care medical professionals who initiate and direct advanced life support in medical emergencies, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and respiratory therapists, are required to be certified in ACLS standards every two years. The ACLS certification (http://www. healthedsolutions. com/) course improves the skills healthcare providers use to treat adults in cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies.

Founded in 1947, the American Academy of Family Physicians represents more than 94,600 physicians and medical students nationwide. It is the only medical society devoted solely to primary care. Family medicine was the first medical specialty to require its physicians to pursue continuing medical education (CME). The AAFP develops and provides its members with CME programs aimed at ensuring family physicians remain educated on the latest medical technologies, treatments and techniques.
