Robert Bixby, Executive Director of the Concord Coalition, to Urge Chief Financial Officers to Secure the Nation’s Economic Future

CFO Renaissance Conference attendees to learn the consequences of inaction by today’s executives during Bixby's keynote address

Waltham, MA (PRWEB) April 1, 2010

The CFO RoundTable, the premier networking forum for senior financial executives, today announced Robert L. Bixby, Executive Director of the Concord Coalition, as a keynote speaker for the CFO Renaissance Conference, April 28th, 2010, at Bentley University.

During Bixby’s address, attendees will learn why executives must actively engage today to secure our economic future for tomorrow. “Current fiscal policy is unsustainable and puts our economic future at risk. The problem goes well beyond cyclical economic factors or war costs,” stated Bixby. “We have a rising structural deficit caused by an aging population, growing healthcare costs, lagging revenues and a dysfunctional political system. The business community, especially Chief Financial Officers, must engage in the search for solutions to avoid the crisis that awaits if serious action is not taken soon.”

Founded in 1992 by former U. S. Senators Warren Rudman (R-NH) and the late Paul Tsongas (D-MA), The Concord Coalition is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization dedicated to fiscal responsibility. Bixby was named Executive Director of the Concord Coalition in 1999, after serving as the organization’s Policy Director, National Field Director, and in other capacities since 1992. He frequently represents Concord’s views on budget and entitlement reform policy at congressional hearings and in the national media.
