RESPONDER911, Inc. As seen on CNN, TECH TV and LA Times click here. RESPONDER911 announces the launch of their new interactive terrorism response training CD version 2.0 March 2004.
RESPONDER911, Inc. is made up of two firefighters from the City of Santa Ana, Jon Muir and James Melton, who embarked to create a project off duty with the support of the fire department. The two joined together with Cliff Goldman of Clockwork, Inc., a multimedia company, to develop computer software that would teach first responders how to recognize and manage terrorist-type incidents. After obtaining the assistance of http://Studio54Design. com (http://Studio54Design. com) a multi-media company, came the re-design and implementation of the state of the art version 2.0.
The contents of the software are based on standard FEMA training materials, as well as expert insights from those who actually deal with such threats on a daily basis. The CD is interactive based that allows first responders to learn about terrorism and to see examples of how existing departments, such as Santa Ana Fire and Police, are prepared to respond to a terrorism incident. The software encompasses a variety of different learning styles. The CD showcases interactivity, video, complete audio narration and even a section of experts speaking on the importance of this training. The technology utilized will make the training user friendly, quick and affordable. The CD is available for purchase across the United States on-line at www. responder911.com.
The importance of this training:
Due to the recent terrorist events in the United States, fire departments, law enforcement agencies, hospitals and local, state and federal agencies are struggling to prepare for terrorist-type incidents. The terrorism threat is real! Terrorists have the knowledge and capability to strike anywhere in the world. We have seen that when properly motivated they will do whatever they have to do to achieve their goals. Recent examples of terrorist attacks include the World Trade Center bombing, February 1993; the Tokyo subway nerve attack, March 1995; the Oklahoma City bombing, April 1995; and the most recent attack at the World Trade Center and Pentagon on September 11, 2001. There have been similar bombing incidents, not necessarily classed as terrorist events, at the 1996 Olympics, at family planning picnics, and, recently, at social clubs. The list most likely will continue to grow.
The primary target audience for this CD includes three groups of people ideally trained to the awareness level in hazardous materials response:
Fire Personnel Emergency Medical Service Responders Hazardous Materials Responders
In addition, this software also is designed to benefit:
Law-enforcement Personnel Emergency Communications Personnel Jurisdictional Emergency Coordinators Emergency Management Personnel Public Works Management Public Health Workers Armed Forces, Reserves, National Guard Disaster Response Agencies.
