NASE Announces 2003 Legislative Priorities

NASE Announces 2003 Legislative Priorities

Washington, D. C., January 7, 2003 -- The National Association for the Self-Employed announced its 2003 Legislative Priorities as the 108th Congress convened in Washington, D. C., this week. Clarification of the independent contractor definition, access to affordable health coverage and tax equality top the priorities list.

(PRWEB) February 26, 2003

“This set of legislative priorities really focuses on the needs of the self-employed and micro-businesses, businesses with 10 employees or less, as a segment of the larger ‘small-business’ community,” said Kristie Darien, NASE director of government affairs. “By concentrating on these issues, we bring the needs of the backbone of the American economy to Congress.”

A clarification in the independent contractor definition is needed to help the self-employed and micro-businesses determine who is an employee and who is a contractor for tax purposes.

“Many of our Members do their own taxes, and the antiquated IRS system of determining who is and who is not an independent contractor is not easy to understand,” said NASE President Robert Hughes.

Access to affordable health coverage is also a priority for the NASE. According to a 2002 NASE survey, 70 percent of micro-businesses do not have health coverage themselves or offer it to their employees. Census data indicates that 62 percent of the more than 41 million Americans without health insurance are from families in which the head of household is self-employed or working for a company with fewer than 100 employees.

In 2003, the NASE will work to influence favorable health care legislation. Key legislation includes Association Health Plans and health care tax credits.. The NASE is also determined to find a solution to unfair taxation on the self-employedÂ’s health insurance premiums. Under present tax laws, corporations are able to deduct health insurance premiums as a business expense and to forego FICA (Social Security and Medicare) taxes on these premiums. In contrast, the self-employed are required to pay an additional 15.3 percent self-employment tax on these expenses.

The NASE tax equality priorities include an increase in the deduction for business meals and equipment.

Also in 2003, the NASE will continue its Women Entrepreneurship initiative. Last summer the NASE co-sponsored summits across the nation to address the concerns of this growing sector of the small business population. NASE President Hughes, who runs his own accounting practice, spoke to summit participants about health care and tax issues.

“I am excited about expanding the Women Entrepreneurship initiative this year,” Hughes said. “With expectations that over half of micro-businesses will be owned by women in the next few years, the NASE looks forward to continuing this effort with the incoming Congress.”

For a complete list of the National Association for the Self-Employed 108th Legislative Priorities, please contact Maureen Fleming, NASE public affairs manager, at (202) 466-2100 or m. fleming@nase. org. Visit www. nase. org to read more about the association and its legislative activities.

About the NASE

The National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE) is the nation's leading resource for the self-employed and micro-businesses, bringing a broad range of benefits to help entrepreneurs succeed and to drive the continued growth of this vital segment of the American economy. The NASE is a 501c (6) non-profit organization and provides big-business advantages to hundreds of thousands of micro-businesses across the United States. Vinegar - NatureÂ’s Secret Weapon

Vinegar - NatureÂ’s Secret Weapon

Vinegar another everyday product that has been identified as having more benefits that just a flavouring agent for chips. Vinegar has been found to have hundreds of domestic and medical uses. It has been used to treat many minor health problems and provides a natural solution to domestic stains and dirt when the only real alternative in the past has been a cocktail of chemicals. Over the last few years more and more people are rediscovering amazing uses for everyday products that we keep in our kitchen cupboards. As people move away from the chemical mixtures under the sink for natural solutions to everyday problems it is these grandmother remedies that are beginning to take centre stage.

(PRWEB) December 8, 2004

Vinegar or Acetic Acid as it is known by the Boffins is the product of alcohol (ethanol) that has been exposed to air. This is why wine that has been left standing for couple days with the cork out tastes sour. Some of the alcohol has reacted with the oxygen in the air to produce Acetic Acid and this produces the characteristic taste and smell of vinegar.

After exhaustive research Maxwell Stein has produced a book explaining the use of vinegar for hundreds of different applications.

“Vinegar has for years been kept in the kitchen cupboard and only brought out when it is required to flavour chips or pickling. I have discovered while researching my book that vinegar has hundreds of effective long forgotten applications from relieving headaches and sore throats to relieving the pain of insect bites. In addition to the many health applications, Vinegar also has hundreds of domestic uses too. It really is an amazing substance. Vinegar really is Natures Secret Weapon.

The number of uses for vinegar; whether its for a particular medical application or for a domestic problem; such as removing chewing gum really make vinegar a remarkable substance that is long overdue recognition for its effectiveness.” says Maxwell Stein author of Vinegar: Nature’s Secret Weapon.

Vinegar is another example of a Grandmother remedy that is beginning to gain respect for its healing and domestic power where in the past any suggestion that it had health benefits would have been scoffed at as an old wives tale. How long will it be before all the items regarded as main stream groceries will be found to have beneficial health and domestic properties that out perform their chemical cousins?

An Environmentally Friendly Drink Bottle for Canadians

An Environmentally Friendly Drink Bottle for Canadians

PVC-free specialty themed sipper products available in Canada through Publicite Ad Factory.

Montreal (PRWEB) May 31, 2007

The healthy and environmentally friendly drink bottle is now available in Canada.

Publicite Ad Factory Inc. is offering Canadian retailers the complete line of shaped drink bottles from Sipper Products of California. While these 12-ounce containers are a hit with anyone who sees them - especially children - there's an even better reason to choose them: these Sipper Products are PVC-free and recyclable too!

If you're asking what a Sipper is, it's a hot-ticket 12-ounce drink bottle that comes in the form of animals, seasonal characters and other shapes. It's also a sure way to add pizzazz to your offerings while delighting end users. Picture astronauts, space shuttles, trains, elephants, or even a ghost, Frankenstein - and many more - as the container to carry your favorite drink in. Approximately six to seven inches in height and about 3/4-of-an-inch wide, they make it fun for children of any age to drink their drink of choice whether it is water, juice or milk.

New pump tops, meanwhile, mean that the Sipper lineup shown at www. publiciteadfactory. com is even more versatile. Turn these delightful characters into a 12-ounce liquid hand soap dispenser or use it for food - it's an amazing way to add some life to any event when you pump ketchup, mustard or even chocolate syrup from one of these extraordinary containers.

More importantly, unlike other plastic drink bottles for kids, Sipper Products of California's sippers do not contain PVC. Sipper Products has built a solid reputation for quality and design and this means that there are no potentially toxic particles in these items. In turn, there are fewer concerns about health-safety issues.

Choosing these drink bottles means you can truly feel safe when using this plastic product. Products with PVC (polyvinyl chloride) plastic may be one of the most hazardous consumer items ever created. According to the New-York based Center for Health, Environment and Justice, PVC can be dangerous to human health and the environment and it cannot be effectively recycled due to the many different toxic additives used to soften or stabilize it.

But not only are the Sipper Product's Sipper bottles suitable for kids of all ages, ideal for parties, souvenirs, fast-food restaurants, drink sales, fundraising and more, they're environmentally friendly.

"Added to our line of other eco and green products this continues to show our commitment to our clients to provide the best products available - and that we do care about the environment," says Publicite Ad Factory President and CEO Andrew Severs. "After all, this big blue marble we call earth depends upon us to take care of it. And it is time we all truly do step up to the plate and take action to make this world a better place, not only for today but for tomorrow as well."

The Sipper Products of California line includes the following features:
· Leak-proof sipper caps designed for no spills.
· Ergonomically designed shapes to fit little tykes' hands.
· Seasonal holiday shapes are available for year-round sales.
· Pump tops to turn them into liquid dispensers.

Primarily sold at zoos, aquariums and amusement parks across the U. S.A., Publicite Ad Factory is introducing the drink sippers into the mainstream retail souvenir, party and beverage markets, including convenience-store chains and restaurants. "The goal is to extend their sales beyond the traditional amusement marketplace in Canada," says Mr. Severs, who is more than confident that they will be a hit with retailers once they have the opportunity to try them out.

You can see the current line up of the Sipper Products' shapes and models at www. publiciteadfactory. com along with a host of other environmentally friendly items including biodegradable pens made from corn, woodfree pencils, and more than 15 other eco favorable choices.

"Going green is just a part of our responsibility to our customers," says Mr. Severs. "We deliver the unique, cutting edge products that they are looking for - the ones that bring the fun back into life. And when you're thirsty, what better way to do that than with an environmentally friendly, completely recyclable Sipper bottle that cuts down on harming the environment!"

A YOUNG AMERICAN MISSIONARY FROM UPSTATE NEW YORK STARTS NEW NONDENOMINATIONAL MISSION IN THE DOMINICAN REPUPUBLIC

A YOUNG AMERICAN MISSIONARY FROM UPSTATE NEW YORK STARTS NEW NONDENOMINATIONAL MISSION IN THE DOMINICAN REPUPUBLIC

Nick Serianni and his Dominican wife have started a mission to work with the impoverished children in the city of Santiago. The desire of their heart is to help these children with their family struggles in the face of poverty, to provide them with educational opportunities, and to bring them into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Currently, their organization, Semillas de Esperanza (Seeds of Hope), is running programs for three groups of children in different neighborhoods. Nick and Wendy are living and running their programs on only $12,000 a year from donations. They need you to partnership with them in prayer and finances.

(PRWEB) November 5, 2002

NEWS RELEASE  NOVEMBER 2002

SEMILLAS de ESPERANZA

(SEEDS OF HOPE)

A MINISTRY OF NICK AND WENDY SERIANNI

CHRISTIAN MISSIONARIES TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

“So is the kingdom of God, as if amanshould cast seed into

the ground; and should sleep, and rise night and day, and

the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade,

then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the

fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle,

 because the harvest is come.”

 Mark 4:26-29

A young American man from upstate New York and his wife have begun a new non-denominational Christian missionary program in the Dominican Republic. Twenty-two year-old Nicholas Serianni form Ticonderoga, New York, moved to the Dominican Republic two years ago. Initially, he worked as a volunteer with Youth With A Mission and Compassion International while he immersed himself in the culture and the language of that nation. He also studied Spanish formally.

Within the year, he had mastered the language sufficiently enough to start working with teens and children in the city of Santiago, the second largest city in the central part of the Dominican Republic. He also continued working as a volunteer with the other two mission organizations. Nick's work with children became a real calling on his life. He and Wendy Payano, a young Dominican woman missionary with Youth With A Mission, soon started their own mission organization to work with children They named it Semillas de Esperanza or Seeds of Hope. Wendy and Nick were married in the Dominican Republic in February of 2002, and they have devoted their lives as a couple to missionary work with the children of the Dominican Republic.

Nick brought with him to the Dominican Republic an extensive background in mission experience and training. He went on his first summer mission outreach to Grenada with Teens for Christ, his fathers youth organization, at the age of eleven. He attributes his "call" to missions to the reading of Bruchko, an autobiography by Bruce Olson, the missionary who ventured into the unchartered interior of the Amazon at the age of nineteen. Nick said that after reading Olson's book, he knew without a doubt that God was calling him to be a missionary.

Subsequently, Nick volunteered for summer mission outreaches every year with either Teens for Christ or Teen World Outreach to such places as Grenada, Florida, Haiti, St. Croix, and Nepal. At the end of his sophomore year in high school as an honor student, Nick home schooled so that he could complete his next two years of studies in one year. While his friends were attending their senior year in high school, he matriculated in Youth with a Mission's University of the Nations and went on a medical outreach to Benin, West Africa, aboard the Mercy Ship, the Anatsasis.

He was accompanied by his brother Demitri who took a leave of absence from his college studies to join the outreach team.

Nick has earned an Associates Degree in Community Development from the University of the Nations while working around the world as a volunteer missionary and as a student at training centers in Hawaii, Indonesia, Switzerland, and Niger, West Africa. One of Nick's most rewarding experiences was working and training under Mr. Paul Abbott, the director of World Vision, Niger. Nick is currently studying toward a BachelorÂ’s Degree in Theology through the International Theological Seminary.

Wendy's career as a missionary began in 1995, when she attended a Discipleship Training School with the University of the Nations in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. Since that time she has been a full-time volunteer with Youth With A Mission and Compassion International. She has worked in the areas of hospitality and mercy missions, and with children's ministries, such as the girls club in Jarabacoa and the Compassion Program for which she was a counselor and a teacher of dance, art, and cooking.

More recently, Wendy has been in charge of the children's ministry for YWAM and ran summer training sessions for Kings Kids, a team of young people who evangelize through street performances. Wendy has a special gift for working with children and, in addition to working with Seeds of Hope, she still teaches in the Compassion Program at her local church.

Semillas de Esperanza or Seeds of Hope is an outreach to the impoverished children of Santiago who have little or no hope for the future. At the present time, Nick and Wendy have group programs in three different city neighborhoods, one of which is in the poorest and most crime-ridden areas of Santiago. Do to limited financial resources, the groups meet in public parks or on private property made availably by civic-minded individuals. The group programs include arts and crafts, sports, instruction in reading and writing, after school assistance, social skills, health care, and Bible study. Members of the youth group from the church Nick and Wendy attend volunteer in assisting with these programs.

In addition to the weekly meetings, Seeds of Hope conducts Campamentos or Bible camps during the summer that are either one or two weeks long. This past summer's campamentos were very successful. The first had an attendance of twenty children, the second one had an enrollment of twenty-five children, and the third had one hundred and twenty children in attendance.

Nick and Wendy's vision for the future is to purchase a large van, so they can take the children to the beaches, on camping trips, and on field trips to landmarks of the Dominican Republic. Their long range goal is to buy a piece of property and build a youth center where they cannot only run their current programs but also provide training in marketable skills, such as carpentry, furniture making, sewing, etc. Wendy, in fact, is enrolled in a sewing school where she is mastering the skills she in turn will impart to her students.

The desire of Nick and Wendy's heart is to help these children with their family struggles in the face of poverty, to provide them with educational opportunities, and to bring them into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Their work is based on Mark 4:26-29 which explains that what a man sows, God brings to fruition, and a harvest results. The harvest that Nick and Wendy hope to reap through their mission work will be the social, economical, and spiritual well-being of the children and their families and, ultimately, the salvation of this nation. They are currently in the process of incorporating Seeds of Hope as a U. S. based nonprofit organization.

Nick and Wendy Serianni are accomplishing a great deal on about $12,000 per year. Their only source of income for their personal support and the operating expenses for their work with Semilla de Esperanza are the monthly donations made by a small group of supporters: individuals from Nick's hometown of Ticonderoga, relatives, and people who have learned of their work.

Therefore, they are in need of people who are willing to partnership with them, through financial support and prayer, in their noteworthy work of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and planting seeds of hope in the minds and hearts of the children of the Dominican Republic. If you are interested in receiving a monthly newsletter or making a donation to Semilla de Esperanza or Seeds of Hope, please write to Nick and Wendy at 75 Lake George Avenue, Ticonderoga, NY 12883 or contacting them by email (NSerianni@compuserve. com). Until incorporation occurs, donations should be made in the name of Nicholas Serianni.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 21, 2005

San DiegoÂ’s Premier Medical Billing, Inc. delivers immediate results in medical industryÂ’s surging cost-control growth market. Long-term radiology client, Pacific American Medical Service, Inc. reports that PremierÂ’s automated billing systems and innovative customer care practices delivered a 42% increase in annual revenue, a 53% reduction in open AR, and a 75% reduction in average payment lead times.

Kimberly Wells, President of Pacific American Medical Service, Inc. states, “Literally Premier Medical Billing saved our business. They are a very professional and competent group of people. They improved our cash flow greatly, and I would highly recommend them.”

Premier Medical Billing, Inc. has been working with Pacific American Medical Service, Inc. for over two years and considers these results to be typical for medical practices of this size. Says Theresa Deacon, General Manager of Premier, “When we first met with Pacific American, they were already three months behind in claims processing. We immediately implemented automated procedures and follow-up processes that very quickly cleared the backlog and stabilized cash flow and profits.”

With healthcare costs on the rise, insurance reimbursement has become a complex and expensive process for physician practices across the United States. But in San Diego, Premier Medical Billing, Inc. captures lost income and rejected payments for its clients without the upfront costs normally associated with outside services. “We are so confident in our system practices that we can waive up front fees and get right to delivering cost savings and cash flow advancement for our clients,” states Deacon. Premier Medical Billing, Inc.’s unique approach to customer service and billing is directly responsible for decreasing medical office costs, increasing revenue, and improving cash flow for its clients.

Premier also provides customized training seminars in accounts receivable management and insurance regulations, and will be inviting new client prospects to a free talk on AR management at an Open House in late June. Tentative plans for the future include office expansion outside of California.

American Medical File, Inc. Launches Nation-Wide Reseller Program for the OnFile Personal Health Record Service

American Medical File, Inc. Launches Nation-Wide Reseller Program for the OnFile Personal Health Record Service

Reseller Programs are available in all 50 states. For more details about the application process, visit OnFile Partner Program.

Boise, ID (PRWEB) March 18, 2008

American Medical File, Inc. announced today the launch of a nation-wide reseller program for the OnFile Personal Health Record Service. The Reseller Programs are available in all 50 states.

"OnFile. com is ready for prime-time!" exclaimed Shawn Bailey, President and CEO of American Medical File, as he unveiled his new and ambitious reseller program. "One of our goals at OnFile has been to align the clinical interests with the business interests of the medical community. Today we have achieved that goal by offering the OnFile Personal Health Record Service through an aggressive reseller program. This program tenders generous revenue-sharing opportunities for our partners and medical providers who wish to offer OnFile as an ancillary service, while reducing the overall cost of health care."

During the next 120 days, their team will be focused on building relationships with organizations and individuals who are willing and able to represent OnFile to physicians' offices, pharmacies, insurance agents and many other types of businesses that can offer the OnFile PHR to the consumer. Interested parties can download "OnFile: The Easy, No-Risk Answer to the Ancillary Question"; a special report for medical providers who are interested in adding OnFile's Personal Health Record service to improve their bottom line.

According to the Center for Studying Health System Change, physicians' income fell seven percent between 1995 and 2003, after adjustments for inflation. The OnFile special report addresses the physician's urgent need for ancillary services as a direct result of reduced reimbursement rates, soaring malpractice costs, and rising staff salaries. All of which have contributed to decreasing profits. The report also summarizes the latest articles and opinions from industry magazines and leading practice consultants. Unlike most services available to physicians, OnFile does not require a large initial investment, expensive equipment, building modifications, higher insurance fees, or additional staff.

"The partner program is not just for physicians -- we are looking for a wide array of progressive businesses and talented entrepreneurs in all 50 states who will represent our brand with distinction and clarity," says Mark Maier, VP of Marketing and Sales. "Our unique business model provides additional revenue for medical industry stakeholders, while reducing the cost of medical care."

"We expect a strong, positive response to our reseller program as we have several large partnerships already in the works that will put the OnFile brand in front of millions of Americans on a daily basis. Plus," says Bailey, "our partners will be providing a valuable--even potentially lifesaving--service to their patients and customers."

To speak to a representative, call 1-877-BE-ONFIL (1-877-236-6345) or visit http://partner. onfile. com (http://partner. onfile. com).

According to Arizona's Office of Oral Health, Common Parenting Practice Could Endanger Kids' Teeth

According to Arizona's Office of Oral Health, Common Parenting Practice Could Endanger Kids' Teeth

A significant concern to dentists is the practice of giving children juice or milk in a bottle or sippy cup to sip on throughout the day or at bedtime. Prolonged exposure to the sugars found in milk and juice contribute to tooth decay and a condition known as baby bottle tooth decay, a painful and damaging consequence for young children to endure. Since February is National Children's Oral Health Month, it is a great time to remind parents what they can do to prevent cavities.

Glendale, AZ (PRWEB) February 7, 2008

Anyone who has experienced parenthood knows how a well-timed sippy cup of juice can save the day -- or night. But the same things that soothe and comfort might also bring about oral health problems later in life.

February is National Children's Oral Health Month
This is a great time to remind parents what they can do to prevent cavities. "Some people think it's not a big deal for a young child to get a cavity or lose a baby tooth since these primary teeth eventually fall out anyway," said Jerry Denning, DDS, dental consultant for Delta Dental of Arizona. "However, maintaining healthy baby teeth is extremely important for the long-term health of permanent teeth. When baby teeth are damaged by decay, it can affect nutrition, speech development and self-esteem, and can cause problems with spacing as permanent teeth grow in."

According to Arizona's Office of Oral Health, tooth decay is the most common childhood disorder affecting Arizona children, with 34% having some form of tooth decay by the age of three. Recent research demonstrates this burden is distributed unevenly, affecting more Arizona children from low-income families, children without dental insurance and children of important cultural groups such as Native Americans and Hispanics.

First Dental Visit by Age One
In order to combat and prevent dental decay, RaNee Toscano, R. D. H., and Acting Chief of the Arizona State Department of Health Services - Office of Oral Health stresses the importance of parents starting early, "Seeing a dentist by age one or when your child's first tooth erupts is critical to their long-term health and well being." Prevention is the key to maintaining healthy teeth. There are several things parents can do to protect their child's primary teeth: Don't put your child to sleep with a bottle or sippy cup. Maintain a balanced healthy diet low in sugary and starchy foods is important. Get fluoride varnish treatments if your child is at risk for decay or sealants once their molars erupt. Promote brushing twice a day and visit the dentist twice a year.

Prevention based strategies are the focus of the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation where grants are targeted to programs providing fluoride varnish treatments for young children at risk for cavities. School age children without dental insurance can receive dental screenings and sealants as part of school-based services. In the past ten years, the Foundation has given back more than $2 million to the community to combat oral disease in Arizona. From Paper Clips to Computers Small Business Big Savings offers Bigger Buying Power

From Paper Clips to Computers Small Business Big Savings offers Bigger Buying Power

Small Business Big Savings was recently launched to significantly reduce overhead costs for companies with one to one hundred employees.

TORONTO (PRWEB) March 25, 2004 -

– Small Business Big Savings was recently launched to significantly reduce overhead costs for companies with one to one hundred employees.

Ken Wells, President of the parent company RFQ Strategies, initiated this exciting concept. RFQ specializes in providing cost reduction strategies to some of Canada’s largest corporations. Smaller companies did not have access to this type of service, so SBBS was developed to offer large-volume buying power via direct access to major Canadian suppliers. “It’s so cost effective that our members see a return on their membership usually with their first purchase,” says Brian Daley, Business Network Manager for SBBS, “We’ve created a portal to access the products and services needed to operate a small business at substantial savings. Our members pay less for some items than companies five times their size”

SBBS has partnered with Dye & Durham, Purolator, Accerta, VuBiz, and Compusmart to name a few. They offer brand name products like IBM, HP, Lexmark, Canon, Microsoft, and Weyerhaeuser. Companies can buy everything from bulk copy paper and cartridges, to web design with hosting, as well as affordable health plans for small businesses, plus on-line software instruction for Excel, Word, Access, and more. They even offer reductions of 25% on a worldwide courier service. For example, a 500-sheet package of paper retails for more than $5.00, but can be purchased by SBBS members for $2.90, or $29.00 a case including delivery.

Wells negotiates contracts on behalf of members. His keen sense of fair market value, combined with his sophisticated tactics to streamline all transactions, results in a user-friendly service and huge savings for members. While this concept is familiar to businesses of a substantial size, the small business operator couldnÂ’t participate on a level playing field. They lacked the large-volume buying power and the ability to research product and service availability, which ultimately put them at a competitive disadvantage.

Over the past year SBBS has coordinated a network of vendors, skipped the middleman, and developed an on-line website and membership service for the small business operator. “The accumulated volume of our membership results in bigger buying power and our vendors see the potential in linking their sales strategy to target the rapidly growing SOHO (Small Office Home Office) marketplace in Canada,” says Daley, “And by buying directly from the vendor, the savings and services are automatic.”

Businesses can register on-line at www. smallbusinessbigsavings. com and set up an account with the vendors of choice and purchase over 30,000 items OAC or pay by Major Credit Card. For more information on Small Business Big Savings, contact Brian Daley, Business Network Manager, toll free 1-866-337-9572 ext 251, or bdaley@smallbusinessbigsavings. com

Houston, TX (PRWEB) October 14, 2010

Houston-based Encore Health Resources (http://www. encorehealthresources. com) today announced the formation of an Executive Advisory Board to provide the rapidly growing company with insight, guidance, and expertise from beyond the company walls. Board members include renowned businessman Rod Canion, founder of Compaq Computer Corporation, Ed Kopetsky, Chief Information Officer of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford in Northern California, and health information technology veteran Joe Boyd, presently the chairman of MedSynergies, Inc.

“In this time of economic instability it is more important than ever to seek expert guidance and to conduct business with the utmost integrity,” explained Dana Sellers, Encore president and CEO. “We knew asking these remarkable healthcare industry innovators to assist Encore as advisors would not only provide us invaluable professional advice, but also send a message to our clients and the healthcare IT market in general that Encore is 100% committed to being the very best in every aspect of our business.”

Ivo Nelson, Encore’s chairman believes the unique background of each Advisory Board member is the key. “Rod’s experience with banking and capital, Ed’s respected position and strategic insight, and Joe’s instincts and intuition about the industry will combine to serve Encore extremely well as we grow. We are very fortunate to have this kind of talent on our team.”

Encore was founded by Ivo Nelson and Dana Sellers, healthcare IT industry veterans and former Healthlink owner and COO respectively. Canion, Boyd and Kopetsky were each affiliated with Healthlink, one of the most successful healthcare-consulting firms in the industry. Healthlink was sold to IBM in 2005. Canion said he’s excited to be working with Nelson and Sellers again, a team he has total confidence in. “In starting Encore they’re doing much of what they did before when they made Healthlink the industry leader. Only now they have years of experience backing them up,” Canion explained. “With their experience and incredible industry reputations Encore can’t help but succeed. I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”

BooksoftheYear. com Interviews Author Denise Martin about her book, "Eating My Way to Heaven"

BooksoftheYear. com Interviews Author Denise Martin about her book, "Eating My Way to Heaven"

Denise Martin is interviewed at BooksoftheYear. com about her book "Eating My Way To Heaven," which details her journey out of addiction, to health and wholeness.

(PRWEB) November 1, 2005

Rarely does an author open her heart, soul, and psyche as does Denise Martin in "Eating My Way to Heaven," a rollicking ride of an autobiography that surpases, inspires, entertains, and downright boggles the mind.

While Martin's story speaks to a common theme-using addiction as a substitute for love and acceptance-her own journey is anything but typical. As she hurtles through her juggernaut of life, Martin's penchant for self-destructive choices keeps her constantly fighting to get up from the mat. Admittedly she takes more wrong turns than right while traveling her convoluted path; yet armed with her irrepressible sense of humor, the desire to do the right thing, and a resilient inner strength, she eventually emerges from her pain and denial to discover a life of balance and peace.

"Eating My Way to Heaven" tells its story at breakneck speed, crowded as it is with hundreds of people and experiences ranging from silly to poignant to bizarre to enlightening. With its well-written prose and wickedly funny look at life, "Eating My Way to Heaven" paints a fascinating and unforgettable picture of one woman's triumph over addiction.

BooksoftheYear. com recently featured Denise Martin in an online interview about her book. When asked what inspired her to write the book, Denise said "I felt like I had something powerful to share, to help people recover from abuse more gracefully than I did."

Denise also said, "I still believe that 'Eating My Way To Heaven' will help our world in helping our population pull out of our self-destructive choices."

E-DentalImplants. com Explains the Cost of Dental Implants

E-DentalImplants. com Explains the Cost of Dental Implants

According to E-DentalImplants. com, the cost of dental implants can often be considerably higher than that of a simple crown of cap. Prices can vary greatly depending on the specific procedure, doctor and expectations of the patient.

Mount Kisco, NY (PRWEB) September 2, 2005

According to E-DentalImplants. com, the cost of dental implants can often be considerably higher than that of a simple crown of cap. Prices can vary greatly depending on the specific procedure, doctor and expectations of the patient. The cost of a single implant can range from several hundred to several thousand dollars, with some individuals spending tens of thousands of dollars on a complete rehabilitation.

The process is two-fold, and involves inserting the implant itself within the patientÂ’s jawbone, then restoring the decayed or missing tooth with an artificial one. The result is a healthier looking, safer, more natural and longer-lasting smile. When one considers this fact, the additional cost of dental implants usually makes sense.

E-DentalImplants. com also explains that the materials used to produce modern dental implants are costly themselves, not to mention the entire team of dental specialists needed to properly conduct the procedure. But when one considers that, unlike most parts of the human body, teeth can maintain their youthful allure for oneÂ’s entire lifespan with proper care, dental implant prices are more than justified.

Unlike the insertion of dental caps or bridges, which often have an adverse effect on adjacent teeth or gums, implants offer far superior long-term benefits. The resulting winning smile from a bridge can be short-lived compared to that of the high-tech dental implant, which does not rely on support from neighboring teeth and consequently causes no short or long-term damage.

The results are safer, more attractive and very consistent in adults with generally good oral health. Candidates who may be lacking good dental and oral hygiene are recommended to consult an expert before seeking dental implants. As always, precautions must be taken before electing to undergo any surgery and a responsible practitioner will only operate on a health candidate.

Sutton & Edwards Brokers $4.6 Million Sale of Met-Pro Corp. Hauppauge, NY, Building to Hospital

Sutton & Edwards Brokers $4.6 Million Sale of Met-Pro Corp. Hauppauge, NY, Building to Hospital

Sutton & Edwards Inc. / TCN Worldwide has sold a 30,000-square-foot Hauppauge, NY, industrial building on behalf of Harleysville, PA-based Met-Pro Corp. to Good Samaritan Hospita of West Islip, NY for $4.6 million.

Lake Success, NY (PRWEB) April 27, 2007

Met-Pro Corp., (NYSE: MPR) of Harleysville, Pa., has sold a vacant 30,000 square foot industrial building and 4 acres of land in Hauppauge, NY, for $4.6 million in cash to Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center, of West Islip, NY, in a transaction arranged by Long Island's leading commercial real estate services firm, Sutton & Edwards Inc. / TCN Worldwide.

The building, located at 70 Arkay Dr., formerly housed Met-Pro's Sethco Division, which was relocated last year from Hauppauge, NY, to Telford, PA.

The sale, which closed on April 24, culminated a challenging six-month marketing effort for the Sutton & Edwards team that handled the deal on behalf of Met-Pro: Senior Executive Director Ted Trias, Senior Director Jeffrey Schwartzberg, SIOR; and Associates Kyle Burkhardt and David Schwartzberg.

The property had been managed since June 2006 by John Proscia and John Healy, president and management services director, respectively, of Sutton & Edwards Property Management LLC.

"This property was significantly oversized for a 30,000-square-foot building which would otherwise require about 1.8-2 acres of property," said Schwartzberg. "While the extra land offered a prospective purchaser a wonderful opportunity for expansion of the building, it presented us with a considerable marketing challenge -- finding a buyer who could use the extra land. Most buyers looking for a 30,000-square-foot building are simply incapable of affording the purchase of a 4-acre site, as it tacks about $1 million onto the price."

Good Samaritan Hospital, a 431-bed, not-for-profit hospital serving the South Shore of Suffolk County, Long Island, and operated by Catholic Health Services of Long Island, plans to use the building, which was constructed in 1982 and includes about 7,000 square feet of office space, for administrative offices and analytical laboratories. The hospital was represented by George Tsunis Real Estate Inc.

Founded in 1962, Sutton & Edwards Inc. / TCN Worldwide is Long Island's premier commercial real estate services firm. Headquartered in Lake Success, NY, with a satellite office in Ronkonkoma, NY, the firm employs more than 60 real estate specialists providing integrated leasing, investment sales, property management and advisory solutions. New Survey Shows Young Women Turn to Traditional Values in Life, Relationships and Health

New Survey Shows Young Women Turn to Traditional Values in Life, Relationships and Health

When it comes to what young women are looking for in their lives, relationships, health and even birth control, a new survey finds that most are putting an emphasis on a traditional core value: reliability. Jane Buckingham, noted author and television host of The Modern Girl's Guide series has joined with Ortho Women's Health & Urology to launch an online education program called Count on Me. The program, featuring Jane's Top 10 Count on Me Tips, educational information, and sweepstakes, is now available at www. thepill. com.

Raritan, NJ (PRWEB) January 28, 2008

When it comes to what young women are looking for in their lives, relationships, and health, a new survey finds that most are putting an emphasis on a traditional core value: reliability.

A national online survey of more than 1,000 women, ages 18 to 34 years old, found that 9 out of 10 believe it is very important that they, as well as the people in their lives, are reliable. More than 80 percent of women said their friends and family would say they can always be counted on to be reliable, and just as many reciprocate that trust by seeking their advice about health-related decisions.

"Modern Girls are taking charge of their lives by returning to fundamental values like reliability. They also are more proactive about their health care and seek out accurate information about the health issues that are important to their personal and sexual health," said Jane Buckingham*, noted author and television host of The Modern Girl's Guide series.

"It is encouraging to see that most women, contrary to their independent-minded image, indicated that they rely on both family and friends for advice on a variety of topics, including relationships, health, and even their birth control," said Buckingham.

In fact, more than 85 percent said they have talked with friends about the birth control pill, and more than 3 in 10 said they involve their partner in making birth control decisions. Today, that decision hinges on more than just effective contraception, and many women agreed that using a reliable pill should result in predictable monthly periods with minimal breakthrough bleeding - a problem affecting half of those surveyed.

To help young women improve their relationships and health, Buckingham has joined with Ortho Women's Health & Urology™, Division of Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the maker of ORTHO TRI-CYCLEN® LO (norgestimate/ethinyl estradiol), who commissioned the survey, to launch an online educational program called Count on Me. The program, featuring Jane's Top 10 Count on Me Tips, educational information, and sweepstakes, is now available at www. thepill. com.

Relying on Others, Even When It's Personal

More than half of women surveyed said that they count on friends and family for one or more of the following: general emotional support, care taking, and relationship and health advice. However, where they turn for health advice varies, depending on the sensitivity of the topic.

For general health information and advice, about two thirds of women surveyed said they rely on their mothers (68 percent) and their healthcare professionals (67 percent), followed by their partners or spouses (50 percent), the Internet (46 percent), or a friend (37 percent).

When the health topic is more personal, like sexual health, birth control, and their periods, more women said they rely on their healthcare professional (76 percent), or even the Internet (28 percent), before their mother (26 percent), friend (25 percent), or their partner or spouse (19 percent).

Relying on the Pill

They also overwhelmingly agreed (99 percent) that it is important to know their birth control pill is reliable, and not just for pregnancy prevention. In fact, more than two thirds of those surveyed said they look for a reliable birth control pill to provide predictable monthly periods. Half of women surveyed acknowledged that they had experienced irregular or unexpected bleeding between periods (also known as breakthrough bleeding) while taking the pill, while nearly a third added that they had stopped taking the pill, or switched to another pill, because of this side effect.

"In addition to reliable birth control, many Modern Girls today want a pill that may provide more predictable periods, as well as a low rate of breakthrough or unexpected bleeding," explained women's health expert Dr. Susan Kellogg-Spadt*, CRNP, PhD. "Most of the women surveyed said they would find it stressful."

Breakthrough bleeding is a common side effect of taking the pill, especially low-dose and extended regimen oral contraceptives. According to Dr. Kellogg-Spadt, the incidence of breakthrough bleeding may vary. For example, data from a clinical study has shown fewer women had breakthrough bleeding, or spotting, with ORTHO TRI-CYCLEN LO. It's important for women to talk with their healthcare professional about the best option for them.

Available at www. thepill. com, the Count on Me program also offers women an opportunity to see how they measure up on a reliability scale and compare their responses to those of women surveyed. By filling out an easy questionnaire, women can enter to win a "timely" prize - one of three designer watches and "Self Indulgence" consumer products. In addition to Jane's Top 10 Count on Me Tips, women can access The Modern Girl's Guide to the Pill, an interactive guide designed to help Modern Girls navigate the basics about the birth control pill.

No purchase necessary to enter the Count on Me sweepstakes. Open to legal female residents of the United States, 18 years of age or older. Void where prohibited. For Official Rules visit, www. thepill. com and click on the Sweepstakes link. Sweepstakes begins January 28, 2008, and ends June 17, 2008.

ORTHO TRI-CYCLEN LO is indicated for the prevention of pregnancy in women who elect to use oral contraceptives as their method of contraception. It is a low-dose, triphasic hormonal birth control pill that provides high efficacy in pregnancy prevention with a low incidence of common side effects.

Employee Voice Award™ Honorees Announced

EVA is Presented to Companies for Excellence in Employee Engagement.

Omaha, NE (PRWEB) April 23, 2010

Quantum Workplace, an employer ratings agency that surveys employee engagement, today announced honorees of the Employee Voice Award™. Honorees scored highest on the Quantum Workplace TeamPulse™ survey, a web-based assessment tool used to measure employee engagement.

Employee engagement is measured by the ability and willingness of individuals to exert extra effort for the benefit of the company, their tendency to speak highly of the organization and their intent to remain at the company.

“Employee engagement doesn’t happen by accident. Like any other business metric, employee engagement is measurable and manageable,” according to Greg Harris, president of Quantum Workplace.

“The award, the EVA OAR, an engraved 6-foot, hand-crafted rowing oar, evokes the imagery of a team working in perfect harmony—paddling in the same direction—with all employees having an oar in the water,” explains Mr. Harris.

“Many organizations excel in one or two of the dimensions our assessment measures. But only the top five to ten percent demonstrate excellence across all ten dimensions,” adds Mr. Harris.

EVA honorees are recognized for the rigor with which they collect, analyze, and take action with employee feedback. Honorees of the 2009 Employee Voice Award are:
Sundt Construction (Tempe, AZ)—a general contractor

Tufts Health Plan (Watertown, MA)—a provider of healthcare coverage

Methodology
In its 2009 study, Quantum Workplace analyzed employee engagement survey data from US-based firms using its TeamPulse assessment. To qualify for this distinction, firms were required to have a statistically representative sample of their employee population complete the survey which evaluates factors such as manager effectiveness, employee recognition, trust in senior leadership, and employee perceptions of benefits.

Only firms with greater than 100 full-time employees qualified. The surveys were not conducted as part of any other employer-of-choice program.

The 2010 Employee Voice Award program is currently underway from January 1 to December 1, 2010. For additional information on the Employee Voice Award program, please go to http://www. employeevoice. com (http://www. employeevoice. com).

Resolve Lifestyle Stress: 4 Simple Tips

Resolve Lifestyle Stress: 4 Simple Tips

Tired of crisis-managing your life? Good! Unmanaged stress leads to unhealthy behavior that makes people sick. Healthy living expert Elizabeth Eckert offers 4 tips you can use immediately to resolve lifestyle stress.

Minot, ND (PRWEB) September 15, 2006 -–

Tired of crisis-managing your life? If so, you’re in good company. Survey results released just last week show that 2/3 of those polled are worried about the effects of social and lifestyle choices (such as lack of sleep, fatigue, and stress) on their health. Which demonstrates exactly how smart we really are.

Unmanaged stress leads to unhealthy behavior choices – from sweet or greasy comfort foods, to excessive worry, to burning the midnight oil. Those behaviors, in turn, make us sick. Big sick. Nobody wants that.

Let’s turn things around. You can resolve lifestyle stress. The kids are back at school. The heat of summer has passed. Nature prods us to prepare for winter. This is the very moment you’ve been waiting for. It’s time to put things in order.

Healthy living expert Elizabeth Eckert, author of “Word Cures: How to Keep Stupid Excuses From Sabotaging Your Health,” offers 4 tips you can use immediately to resolve lifestyle stress:

1. Pick your top “symptom.” Choose anything about your life that bugs you. Just pick one. (Once you’ve got that handled, you can always take on something else.)

2. Think Backwards. Picture it finished. Plan backwards from there to create your best strategy.

3. Plan Horizontally. Forget “to-do” lists. They’re overwhelming. Instead, flow-chart your strategy one simple step at a time.

4. Schedule it now. Your activity doesn’t exist until you give it a place in time. Make an appointment with yourself for each major step you’ll need to take.

Your mind will relax once it knows you’re in control again. Put these tips to use, and you’ll be in great shape. It’s simple. In fact, you might just be feeling better already.

Elizabeth Eckert supports healthy living through her WordCures. com website and HealthyLivingDIY. com blog. Get more information and Eckert’s free guide, “Transform Stress Into Power” at http://www. resolvestress. com (http://www. resolvestress. com).

Foot And Ankle Injuries Plague Dancing Celebrities

Foot And Ankle Injuries Plague Dancing Celebrities

Foot Healing Advice from the American Podiatric Medical Association

Bethesda, MD (Vocus) September 30, 2009

Now in its ninth season, ever popular TV show Dancing with the Stars has launched with its largest cast ever. Tom Delay, contestant and former Speaker of the House, recently started the competition as the latest victim of a foot injury. Delay has said the "pre-stress fracture" in his right foot will not stop him from performing, but he's one of many celebrities who have dealt with foot problems on the show. Early treatment and proper medical attention from a foot and ankle expert, a podiatrist, can keep the stars, or anyone, dancing all season long.

"Like all rigorous, physical activity dancing poses an injury risk to the foot and ankle, especially when it's done for an extended amount of time on a daily basis," said APMA President Ronald D. Jensen, DPM (http://www. apma. org/MainMenu/News/MediaRoom/ExpertProfiles/DrRonJensen. aspx). "There are simple steps that can be taken to prevent foot injuries from occurring and also treatments available to speed healing time and get one back on the dance floor."

The love of dance that's hit the country due to the show's popularity may have inspired some personal twirls and twists around the kitchen floor. Before trying anything too advanced, take heed of the following podiatrist approved advice so you're not seeing stars. Always progress slowly at any new activity or sport, wear shoes specifically for the activity, stop at the first sign of pain and immediately visit a podiatrist if sudden and severe pain is present.

Some of the most memorable Dancing with the Stars contestants, their foot ailments and proper treatment methods are:

Tom Delay: Foot Stress Fracture - Stress fractures usually occur from overuse. Repeated impact or stresses on the bone can lead to a small crack and continued activity on the injured foot can cause the small fracture to penetrate completely through the bone. Pain and swelling will often indicate a pre-stress fracture and appropriate treatment at this stage age may avoid a complete stress fracture. Treatment from a podiatrist is imperative to minimize healing time.

Misty-May Treanor: Ruptured Achilles Tendon - The Achilles tendon runs from the heel to the calf and while it's the thickest and strongest tendon in the body, explosive activities such as jumping can be to blame for the rupture of the Achilles. The tendon is "ruptured" when a complete tear has taken place right above the ankle. There may be warning signs prior to the rupture including pain and swelling - early treatment by a podiatrist may avoid a rupture.

Lance Bass: Broken Toe - Broken toes are not uncommon in the sports world, they can occur from trauma or repetitive movement. Swelling, stiffness, bruising and even a deformed shape may indicate a broken toe. A podiatrist will take x-rays to confirm the break and then prescribe appropriate treatment. In serious cases taping, casting or surgery may be necessary.

Kristi Yamaguchi: Ankle Injury - Ankle injuries, including sprains, most commonly occur when the ankle rolls outward, caused by activities done both during dancing and everyday life. There are varying degrees of an ankle sprain, and treatment from a podiatrist is always recommended. Implement the R. I.C. E. treatment for a sprain as soon as possible:
Rest - do not walk on the ankle. Ice - keeps the swelling down. Compression - bandages can immobilize the ankle preventing further damage. Elevation - place the ankle above the heart as much as possible within the first 48 hours of injury.

For more foot health information, visit www. apma. org.

Founded in 1912, the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) is the nation's leading and recognized professional organization for doctors of podiatric medicine (DPMs). DPMs are podiatric physicians and surgeons, also known as podiatrists, qualified by their education, training and experience to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle and structures of the leg. The medical education and training of a DPM includes four years of undergraduate education, four years of graduate education at an accredited podiatric medical college and two or three years of hospital residency training. APMA has 53 state component locations across the United States and its territories, with a membership of close to 12,000 podiatrists. All practicing APMA members are licensed by the state in which they practice podiatric medicine. For more information, visit www. apma. org.

Skincare Product Line Introduced: Caudalie Skin Care is Natural, Effective, and Affordable

Skincare Product Line Introduced: Caudalie Skin Care is Natural, Effective, and Affordable

Skincare-News. com looks into a natural line of skincare products that may save skin from irritation and harsh ingredients.

Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) June 9, 2008

These days, being green is more popular than ever. People recycle, buy organic foods and drive hybrid cars to benefit the environment. So, it's only natural to extend those benefits to your skin, especially if it's easily irritated. Skincare-News. com's latest article, "Look to Nature for a Gentle Skincare Routine," introduces a gentle product line that may just save sensitive skin.
Http://www. skincare-news. com/articles. php? ArtID=608 (http://www. skincare-news. com/articles. php? ArtID=608)

Skip the strong stuff. Many skincare products can include potentially irritating ingredients with some critics even questioning their safety. Find out which ones might be cause for concern.

·Harsh chemicals. Although technically speaking, everything in our beauty cabinet contains chemicals, some are harsher than others. An especially irritating chemical component is sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), commonly added to products like shampoo and soap to increase lather and make foamy suds, writes Marisa Belger for MSNBC. Unfortunately, it also affects skin by "disrupting the structure of the skin to allow deeper penetration of other toxins," she explains.

·Artificial colorants. Chances are that your lavender-scented body wash is lavender-colored, too -- the result of unnecessary dyes and colorants that can aggravate skin. Don't expect natural products to be brightly colored; many don't contain these colors and dyes, so they cause less irritation.

·Chemical preservatives. Preservatives increase products' shelf life and staying power. Parabens -- commonly used preservatives that include methylparaben, propylparaben and butylparaben -- stop bacteria from growing and prevent products from spoiling, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). However, parabens have been associated with health risks. Belger writes that "Parabens have been linked to breast cancer, impaired fertility and skin irritation -- from mild itching to scaling and blistering." But there's differing opinions on the potential harm of parabens. In an article for The Washington Post, Rachel Herschenfeld, M. D., refers to the 2002 study that incited controversy over the potential connection of parabens and breast cancer. Debunking any link, she writes, "The study did not show that parabens are harmful or that they cause breast cancer." Perhaps additional research will illuminate this preservative's impact. Thus far, Dr. Herschenfeld explains that the FDA considers cosmetics with parabens to be safe for the majority of us. But those with eczema should avoid these products, she suggests.

·Synthetic fragrance. Despite their appealing scents and smells, the perfumes and fragrances in some skincare products can cause skin irritation -- such as itchiness, dryness and rash. Instead, opt for unscented or fragrance-free products. Many people find this helps their sensitive or easily-irritated skin.

·Chemical sunscreens. We all know that wearing sunscreen is a necessary step in every skincare regimen, but some products can irritate your skin more than others. For instance, physical sunblock formulas -- reflect UV rays and include zinc oxide and titanium dioxide -- typically cause less irritation than their chemical counterparts -- absorb UV rays and prevent them from entering the epidermis. Though rarely used today, the chemical ingredient PABA, or para-aminobenzoic acid, is known for causing irritation and staining fabrics and clothes.

Switching to natural ingredients
In many cases, natural ingredients are gentler than synthetic ones. However, keep in mind that some natural ingredients like essential oils can cause irritation or allergic reactions. Choose a natural brand like CAUDALIE Paris Skincare that avoids artificial colorants and fragrances whenever possible, and enjoy the benefits of naturally beautiful skin.

Non-drying cleansers. Many people mistakenly assume they have oily skin and use harsh cleansers to achieve a deep clean. However, this dries out the skin, causing an overproduction in oil that leads to breakouts. Instead, help your skin retain its natural oils while removing the daily build-up of dirt and grime. Alcohol-free toners. Choose gentle formulas that use botanicals and natural extracts instead of harsh alcohols that strip the skin. Plant-based toners are soothing and refreshing.

Gentle facial scrubs. To get soft, smooth skin, it's important to exfoliate and remove dead, dry skin. But, harsh exfoliating scrubs can cause cuts in the skin, leading to blemishes and inflammation. Choose a finer-textured scrub that pampers the skin without scratching or irritating.

Sulfate-free shower gels. Because some body washes and shower gels contain SLS and thereby might irritate your skin, switch to sulfate-free skin care.

Sulfate-free shampoos. Many people dry out their scalp with a harsh shampoo, and then use a heavy conditioner to return the moisture their harsh shampoo strips away. Break this cycle by cleansing gently with natural options. Choose plant-based formulas that contain strengthening agents like wheat proteins and pro-vitamin B5.

Peptides
Http://www. skincare-news. com/articles. php? ArtID=589 (http://www. skincare-news. com/articles. php? ArtID=589)
Hailed as an anti-aging breakthrough by WebMD, peptides are proteins that boost collagen production. Several formulas in particular have garnered a great deal of interest. Included on this list of hot peptides are copper peptides, Matrixyl or palmitoyl pentapeptide-3 and Argireline or acetyl hexapeptide-3. On the market since 1997, copper peptides have stirred up quite a commotion for their ability to stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis. But their discovery actually dates back to the 1970's when Dr. Loren Pickart patented various formulations that promoted wound and skin lesion healing. Overall, because all peptides boost collagen, expect to see smooth, supple, younger-looking skin.

Deep Cleanse and Purify
Http://www. skincare-news. com/articles. php? ArtID=588 (http://www. skincare-news. com/articles. php? ArtID=588)
When most people think of spring cleaning, they probably envision cleaning out the closet or the garage, getting fid of the jutnk, dirt and cobweb. s They might easily forget about the face, but the reality is that the face and body can benefit from a deep cleansing and purifying treatment beyond a basic daily routine. Regardless of skin type -- oily, dry, combination or sensitive -- if you don't deep clean, dirt, sebum (oil) and dead skin cells build up on the skin over time, leaving it dull and lifeless. Everyone can reap the benefits of a deep cleansing mask to remove impurities, and certain ingredients are ideal for this purpose.

Manning Up to Cosmetic Surgery
Http://www. skincare-news. com/articles. php? ArtID=584 (http://www. skincare-news. com/articles. php? ArtID=584)
Women aren't the only ones turning to cosmetic procedures for the occasional nip and tuck. In the US alone, the men's grooming market is worth $3.5 billion -- that's a lot of money spent on vitamins, supplements, diets, exercise, skincare products, and of course, cosmetic surgery. Traditionally considered a female trend, men of all ages now hope to maintain their looks or improve their physical appearance by means of cosmetic procedures.

Hyaluronic Acid
Http://www. skincare-news. com/articles. php? ArtID=579 (http://www. skincare-news. com/articles. php? ArtID=579)
Hyaluronic acid wasn't always known as just an injectable filler; it was actually discovered 60 years ago in vitreous humor. As it naturally occurs in the human (and animal) body, its job is to lubricate and support our tissues. Over time as the body ages, hyaluronic acid is broken down. Poor diet and smoking also contribute to lower levels of hyaluronic acid. In the facial area, this leads to wrinkles and sagging around the eyes, mouth and cheeks and overall loss of elasticity. That's where hyaluronic acid comes in as a skincare ingredient: by helping the skin absorb moisture, it's highly effective in promoting a smooth, younger-looking appearance.
