AUSTIN & FORT WORTH, TEXAS (PRWEB) August 15, 2006
Vincera, Inc., the business process improvement company whose software allows their clients to protect, monitor, measure and manage the distribution of intellectual property and other sensitive data, today announced its upcoming invitational speaking engagement to launch the first meeting of Fort Worth’s Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) Chapter. The ISSA is the largest international, not-for-profit association specifically for information security professionals and practitioners. Wendy Stevens, President of the North Texas ISSA Chapter, will lead the meeting, and Fort Worth’s Mayor Michael Moncrief is to deliver welcoming remarks. The seminar is titled “Business Friendly Distribution: Intelligent Protection for the Enterprise.” It will be delivered by Kevin Schick, Vincera’s Chief Marketing Officer, whose 30-year career encompasses experience as a Gartner Group analyst, a consultant for Andersen Consulting, and a marketer in numerous technology industry verticals. The launch will take place Wednesday, August 23rd, from 11:30 a. m. to 1:00 p. m. at the Radio Shack Corporate Headquarters in Fort Worth.
Stated Mayor Moncrief, “Many businesses in the Fort Worth area must distribute their most sensitive documents over the Internet, and they must continually learn how to protect that information from those who would steal or abuse it. Business security officers need resources such as the ISSA and Vincera to assist them in this ongoing endeavor. I am pleased to welcome the Fort Worth Chapter at its inaugural meeting, and to welcome Vincera’s Kevin Schick as he delivers timely, vital information to our business leaders.”
Stevens stated, “It’s exciting to launch this new chapter of the ISSA to meet Fort Worth’s growing demand for the latest information regarding security options and how to use them. Our membership consists of security professionals from corporations, government organizations, and educational institutions, but despite their diversity of verticals, they all share the need to stay ahead of the data-theft curve. Vincera’s seminar on Business Friendly Distribution perfectly mirrors the ISSA’s goal to promote management practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information resources.”
The seminar will introduce the Business Friendly Distribution (BFD) concept, a process improvement framework for distributed document security and customer audit and compliance. BFD is the next generation of digital rights management, going beyond access rights and protection of documents to enable content protection, document tracking, contextual reporting, behavioral monitoring, and predictive analytics. The presentation will focus on how BFD can add value to enterprise requirements for content management regarding distributed document security that includes, but is not limited to, securing intellectual property & personal information, customer audit & compliance, and revenue generation.
Vincera is uniquely qualified to offer this seminar regarding BFD. Vincera's flagship BFD product, VAM! Intelligent Protection™ (VIP), is a document security technology that greatly reduces the risk of security breaches inherent in the e-distribution and storage of sensitive documents and data by enabling companies to set business-driven rules to secure, track and manage the distribution of all sensitive content. With VIP, companies can easily customize distribution according to their desired parameters. For instance, security officers can decide to track how the documents containing sensitive information are being distributed, and track the number of machines that the document is being accessed by (potentially identifying a “breached” document); or, with the click of a button, the VIP customer can set expiration rules, ensuring that document disablement and destruction meets legislative and business requirements, and simultaneously preventing the further distribution of such data.
Said Schick, “Security officers in diverse industries face a quandary: they must e-distribute sensitive information such as intellectual property, knowing that the information their companies most need to protect is at risk for theft, alteration, and illicit distribution as a result. Because document security is a top-of-mind concern for all security officers, our seminar directly addresses the specifics of using Business Friendly Distribution to prevent these negative outcomes. We are honored to provide this information at the launch of the Fort Worth Chapter, and we look forward to continuing to assist this and other ISSA chapters as they stay ahead of those who would abuse their data.”
